Our guide was very informative during our tour. We had plenty of time to look around, have lunch and view the castle. If in Munich, this would be a tour to book.

Our guide in English, Ana, was extremely competent, giving us a lot of data along the route,,speaking a clear English , easy to understand even for those with other native languages. She was very carefull and kind with every person in the group. Thanks a lot, once again, Ana, from a Romanian traveller.

Excellent Day Trip out. Tour Guide very friendly and Coach very comfortable. Both Castles are something else. You aren't allowed to take pictures inside the Castle which makes the whole experience that much more special.

Tour was interesting, nice to see Bavarian countryside. There were though much too little time to see the castles. Group was so big that you could not even see the room properly and you could not browse rooms on your own because of the time table.

I recommend NOT to eat in the restaurant the guide recommended. Food tastes bad, cold, mashed potato was not from real potatoes and it was really expensive.

This is an easy way to see both castles in one day. Perfect for those whose time in Munich is limited or for those who would like a hassle-free experience.

Highly recommended!

The castles and their grounds and surroundings are beautiful, especially set against a brilliant blue sky contrasting with the glistening white underfoot.

Buses do not run up to Neuschwanstein castle during the winter season but it is possible to take a horse & cart shuttle to quite near the castle. There were 5 running on December 20th 2013. Each holds about 11 people and the driver. The queue time was at least 30 minutes for us so this in mind in terms of not missing your timed castle tour.

Oberammergau is very picturesque and was a nice stop.

The guide, Gerta, was efficient, helpful and extremely warm. I heard her giving all kinds of travel and local advice to various passengers. Steffan, the driver, was also very helpful.

It seems like a very long day but the longest unbroken journey we had was the 1.5 hours leg back to Munich.

The entire group of people who booked this trip the day we went filled 3 double decker coaches. Each coach, however, had its own guide and did the tour independently of the others. The coach was very clean, cosy and comfortable and had a WC along with cola, water and beer for sale on board.

Overall this was a great trip. The bus was comfortable and the the itinerary was broken up to keep the drive times between stops relatively short. The sites were well worth seeing. Time at the actual sites (interior tours) were somewhat short, but tha is dictated by the sites not the tour bus company.

Do not be put off by the fact that there may be lots of tourists here. It is an absolute 'must see' if you are anywhere nearby. Take the pony and carriage ride up the hill for amusement value or if you are infirm. We bought coffee and cake from the cafe right by the pick -up point for the pony rides. IThe ride cost 6 euros per person one way. Our tour guide, Monika, was excellent and very knowledgable, but not over burdening us with information either. The guide at Linderhof was superb. Be prepared to be moved through both buildings quite quickly. This is becasue they have such a vast number of visitors each day. If you linger, you will lose your signal for your audio tour. We were lucky with the weather and it snowed while we were there. The views are just stunning, but bring good shoes if you plan to walk up and down the hill to Neuschwanstein. It is possible to visit under your own steam, but doing a guided tour took away a lot of the angst and made for a very trouble-free trip. We had timed tickets for Neuschwanstein. There s a bit of time for shopping in the visitor centres at both Neuschwanstein and Linderhof and the stop-over at Oberammergau allows time for a quick browse in the local shops. The one recommended by our guide was a bit naff, so we visited Kathe Wohlfahrt (the centre of all Christmas kitsch) but also a good source of genuine German products.Would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide, Markus, was wonderful. His commentary was informative but lively and quite funny at times. His instructions were clear.

I enjoyed the visits to the castles, however I did not really care for the shopping expedition to Oberammergau. Perhaps a variation of this tour that offers longer time at the historical sites and skips the shopping could be offered.

A very interesting tour, but in my opinion not enough time for each visited site. At Linderhof only time for either seeing the castle from the inside OR the beautiful surroundings. A frustrating choise. The visit in Oberammergau very short, also frustrating, because it's a very charming town with lots of good shops. At Neuschwanstein more time was scheduled, but still I found it stressful. You have to consider the long tour up and down the mountain, either walking or waiting for a shuttle bus together with hundreds of other tourists, If it's full, you have to wait another 20 minutes for the next one. Consider that you need time for eating dinner. Consider that the führung in the castle may last a bit longer than scheduled. Consider queues if you want to buy something in the shop at the castle, and use the toilet. If you take a wrong path when walking down, as I did, consider time for finding your way back. I ended up having to run all the way down the mountain, and still couldn't make it back at the time scheduled. The bus waited for me though :-)
All in all: my suggestion is, that you - besides this tour - offer a tour in your program that focuses on Neuschwanstein alone - there is enough to see, to make a day-tour to this site alone. (For those who like, there would perhaps then also be time to see Hohenschwanstein, which is a next-door neighbour to Neuschwanstein.) I would definitely enlist!
You have another day-tour to Linderhof and Oberammergau only, and knowing what I know now, I would have chosen this, I think, PLUS a day-tour to Neuschwanstein only, if it had been possible.
I will add that the guide was VERY nice and she gave us lots of interesting information during the day.

This was the best part of our visit to Munich. This tour lasts the entire day and takes you to 2 different palaces plus a small village for souvenir shopping.

You have a choice of tour busses depending upon what language you want to hear spoken by the tour guide. The tour guide was very informative and funny. The tour itself is very well organized and includes a short stop for lunch.

The cost for entrance to the palaces at the time was 21 Euro. The cost for lunch was not included so be prepared to spend at least 15 Euro per person. The souvenir shop does have better prices than you'd find in the city plus the products are made in Germany.

We plan on using City Discovery the next time we visit Munich and visit other palaces.

I enjoyed this tour. It gave a picture not only of Neuschwantstein castle but also of Linderhoff. I enjoyed the stop in Oberammagau as well. Great little town and very picturesque in winter!
All in all, you can do Neuschwanstein on your own fairly easily. But if you want to see a bit more then my advice would be take the tour.
