One of the MOST ENJOYABLE tours ever!

Reviewed by: Matthew E., 2019/06/16

As a rule, we're skeptical of tours. With maps, apps, and a little curiosity, Europe is a delight for explorers. We come across countless treasures and memorable experiences off the beaten path by simply walking out the door and AWAY from tourists and tours.

But we wanted to really get out and about, and the only reasonable way to reach the Kroller-Muller Museum and Hoge Veluwe National Park was by tour. And what a tour it was!

Our guide should be a national treasure in the Netherlands. He is a charming, intelligent, friendly and committed spokesman for his country, his culture, and his history. And a very good driver! We talked and talked and talked during the easy, one-hour drive out of Amsterdam into the green splendor of the low countries. From history to the economy to the life experiences of a native, we learned a lot.

On arrival we were guided in, and we were off. The collection is truly spectacular. Every trip to Europe, for us, is a series of museums, cathedrals, and churches, looking for and at the long history of Europe. The Kroller-Muller Museum does not disappoint!

We enjoyed a delightful lunch in the garden cafe, then headed out on bicycles to enjoy the sprawling Hoge Veluwe National Park. One CAN forget how to ride a bike, but we enjoyed the fresh air and cool, green expanse for over an hour. The day-long itinerary seems long, but in order to get there and back (one hour each way by clean, efficient highway), enjoy the collection, relax over a meal and cold drink, AND grab any of the free, fully-functional bicycles in the park, you definitely need the whole day. Don't shy away from it; sit back, relax, and enjoy it!

Our fellow travelers were charming companions for the drive, it's always fun to chat with other Americans when we're OUT of America. Familiarity breeds affection!

Plan ahead, commit to the day, and ENJOY YOURSELF on this spectacular tour package to the Kroller-Muller Museum and Hoge Veluwe National Park. You'll love it.

A great day out at the wonderful Kroller-Muller Museum

Reviewed by: Will, 2019/04/21

The Kroller-Muller Museum is really worth visiting, as it contains a lot of Van Goghs, as well as paintings by Cezanne, Monet, Picasso, Mondrian etc. There is also a beautiful (and very large) sculpture park.

Our day trip was excellent. We arrived at the museum at 10.30 and left at 3.00 which gave us sufficient time to explore the museum properly (there is lots to see). Our guide and driver was friendly and very informative, and the minibus comfortable. On the return journey a film about Van Gogh was shown, which we enjoyed watching, and which rounded off the day perfectly.

Kröller-Müller excursion.

Reviewed by: Dr. David Etheridge , 2018/09/07

Our driver, Bram, was excellent. On our way out of Amsterdam, he pointed out places of interest.

He was very knowledgeable about the museum and the couple who set it up.

The museum’s collection was everything we hoped for, as we are great admirers of Vincent Van Gogh.

Bram showed us the house belonging to the Kröller-Müller people and also talked about the architect who built the house.

Overall, an very good excursion that was enhanced by Bram’s knowledge, enthusiasm and personality.

Kroller Muller just sublime

We were met at the assigned spot by Jan who drove my husband and I to the Kroller Mullet museum for the afternoon. I had remembered this museum from 30 years ago and was determined to show my husband it's beauty. We were driven in a very comfortable mini van and arrived ahead of time and spent 2 hours soaking up the beauty. Jan was interesting with his facts about the Netherlands and the way of life pointing out land marks as we went. We cannot thank Veltra enough for this amazing time!

Our guide, Jan, gave us a wealth of information from the moment we started the journey. The museum was very interesting and easily doable in an afternoon. The grounds are lovely with the sculptures. Over all a great experience. Big thanks to Jan for a gray experience!
