  • Forest Learning Center
    mtsthelens04 Learn first-hand from knowledgeable guides about forest recovery, reforestation and conservation. You will also be able to see spectacular views of the mountains, local wildlife and the replanted forests. You may also hike a short trail through the forest and gain insights about biodiversity.
  • Johnston Ridge Observatory
    mtsthelens01 Offering the closest view to the crater of Mount St. Helens, enjoy awesome hiking trails and breathtaking photo opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to watch the “Message from the Mountain" film, explore the displays and take part in a staff ranger talk.
  • Hummocks Trail and Coldwater Lake
    mtsthelens02 Reach the hummocks, a 2.3-mile loop trail where you can examine the colorful volcanic debris and admire your views of Mount St. Helens and the Toutle River. You will also get to experience and see the effect of the May 18, 1980 eruption on the Coldwater Valley.
