Our Tour Guide Scott used easy English so we were able to enjoy the whole tour with no problem. If you are worried about English, they do have iPod for an assistance.

Scott talked about not only history and facts but also some funny stories so we all enjoyed his talks.

Bus had wifi for the passengers to use for free and also a water server, so they refilled our water bottles time to time.

We stopped at Ballarat which is located at north west from Melbourne for a short break. We enjoyed some tea and pound cake at the park.

Then we went to Halls Gap with a population of 200 people. Here they have a base camp to Grampians. We had another break here and went to Silverband Falls.

After returning to Halls Gap, we had picnic lunch of fruits, cake, pie and juice. The volume was small so you should have a big breakfast.

Once lunch is finished, we finally started the Grand Canyon walk. You should wear non-slippery shoes as you need to walk on the craggy places.

The view is a small version of Grand Canyon and was amazing! The day we joined this tour was 40 degrees in Melbourne and at Grampians it was super hot.

Then we walked about 600m to MacKenzie Falls. Rainbow was over the falls with lots of water! Fantastic view! I felt so good.

We stopped at a viewing spot to look the whole Grampians on the way back to Melbourne. Also, we stopped at a service area for dinner which we paid.

We highly recommend this tour as you can visit Grampians in one day with other sightseeing spots and use your day efficiently.

Our experience withGrampians National Park and MacKenzie Falls Tour

Reviewed by: Niizawa @Chiba, 2018/05/28

April 28, 2018, we joined the Grampians National Park and MacKenzie Falls Tour with Go West Tours.

It was a sunny day so turned out to be a rather hot day for autumn in southern hemisphere. At 8 in the morning, we met up with our tour guide Scott and all started from there. He is an 100% Australian but does not seem to have strong Aussie accents, so nothing to worry about!

Passed by Ballarat which is famous for the discovered gold mine, we arrived at our first spot, Hall Gap in the Grampians National Park. It is like a smaller version of Grand Canyon in US but the trekking was quite fun. It was a beautiful weather day but in the summer time, it can reach to 45 degrees or higher. And in the winter, if it rains, it gets really cold. So you need to prepare well. Especially you need to make sure to drink enough water for heat stroke and arrange outfit for cold weather depending on a season.

Then we went to the MacKenzie Falls, where is easy to access but way back is hard. On the way back, you need to climb the stairs but you already done lots of walking at Hall Gap, so you can possibly feel your knees begin to wobble.

Before going back to the city, we stopped at a cricket field and took pictures with the famous Kangaroos who were munching on the grass. The memory of the tour was completed with a picture with kangaroos.

We arrived back to Melbourne around 9pm but we napped on the busy so it was okay. Tour Guide Scott was asking us to drive as a joke! He was funny. We had an amazing day.
