Full Day Great Ocean Road Tour from Melbourne with Sunset Viewing

To spend a day efficiently, this tour is the best!
Reviewed by: Meredith, 2018/05/29We decided on this tour for Great Ocean Road, because it would take many more hours and lots of efforts on our own.
Pickup was scheduled at 11am, so quite a late start. We had nice lie-ins and relaxing breakfast. The voucher said the pickup would be at St Paul's Cathedral unless you are staying at the specific hotels but they arranged ours at one of the designated hotels near us so it saved our time. The pickup car did not come on time due to the the traffic. The bus already had 15ppl before us and seats were not assigned, so we picked the left side seats, based on the reviews. In the end, we had 25ppl on board.
We had a lunch break for 30mins on the beach, with a choice of ham, eggs or chicken sandwiches. First come, first served!
Then went to a chocolate factory for sampling some chocolate and rest.
Next was a photo time at the memorial arch of Great Ocean Road, followed by a stop at a resort town by the sea. You can buy some snacks there.
We saw wild koala bears, birds and kangaroos, then went to the Loch Ard Gorge. The beach surrounded by the massive rocks was spectacular. Next the climax of the tour, The Twelve Apostles! Arrived 40-50mins before the sunset to capture the best view. It was cold so you should take your jacket. All of us took photos at the sunset and 10mins later we got on the bus.
Each break was about 10-30mins, but at the main spots, we had about 1 hour, so it was not a rush.
Our guide talked about the tour spots on the bus. When off the bus, free time till the meeting times.
On the way back, stopped at McDonald's around 11pm for 20mins, so we bought burgers and ate on the bus. Arrived back just after 12 midnight. The driver played some tunes on the bus so we never had a dull moment. The ride can be often shaky, so best to take your medicine for car sickness if you are worried.
Not only we got to to enjoy Great Ocean Road, but also we saw some animals and tasted chocolate. It was truly one efficient tour!

The Most Gorgeous Sunset of my life!
Reviewed by: Yury, 2018/05/29Participated this tour with my friend. The driver was very friendly and took time to explain about famous sightseeing spots. Also we stopped for short breaks here and there and served sandwiches and drinks for lunch.
We managed to take many great pictures at the photo spots the driver took us to. For the sunset, he timed it perfectly at the perfect spot, so we were able to see the beautiful sunset at ease. It was the most gorgeous sunset of my life!
Definitely a place to visit if you come to Melbourne.
