4.80Day tour to Venice from Milan
Reviewed by: Bernie Genner, 2019/08/06Fantastic tour. Great tour guide covered everything, yet allowed us plenty of free time to explore on our own.
Wonderful weather and tremendous experience.

Inspiring Travel
Reviewed by: Mother and Child, 2018/05/30As I had read before, the approach from sea to Venice was stunning. IThe explanations from the guide after landing could have been a bit shorter and that if we were given a bit more free time the tour would have been even better.

Fully enjoyed sun drenched Venice!
Reviewed by: Mother and Child, 2018/05/30Although it was the end of August, I experienced the bright sun and soaring skys of Venice. Sunglasses are a must. If you don't have sunglasses you will have to squint your eyes to view beautiful scenery.
It takes about 2 to 3 hours to Venice from Milano. After stepping off the bus, you will board a boat to Venice. The boat travels by major landmarks of Venice, providing a feel for the contours of the city. Once off the boat you reconfirm the global destination that is Venice: there are many visitors. I almost felt the need to hold hands with my family so we wouldn't split up and become lost in the crowd when looking at wonderous city highlights. As soon as you are off the boat, an impressive gondola comes into view. Don't let yourself get too caught up looking. You will lose any people you are traveling with!
The gondola ride is optional but of course I booked this too. Once on the canals, you are able to travel at a slower more leasurly pace. There are many small canals that the gondolas maneuver in. The gondola drivers or "gondaliers" have a steady hand and are able to skillfully turn into crossways and pass other gondolas. It was very liberating and a lot of fun. You cannot leave out the gondola ride if you are going to Venice.
After the gondola ride there was some free time but not enough to enter a restaurant, so we had 4 different types of pizzas at a pizza bar. Each slice was quite large for only about EUR 5 and quite good!
Another impression I had was how the shore was quite low in relation to the sea. Our guide noted that on days that it rains the sea water flows into the city. In fact, the day before our arrival we learned that the city was under water due to rain. I felt lucky and very satisfied to have been able to experience Venice under the cloudless sun.
