Best thing I did in Tokyo

It was so funny when foreigners were asking me to take pictures with them in shrines. I enjoyed this experience and recommend it to everyone. The price is unbeatable and the service is excellent.

Grenat experience !
Reviewed by: Tamara, 2019/08/20We wanted to tour the Nihombashi shrines in kimonos : the welcome and fitting was perfect, the lady was very soft and polite and used a translator to communicate if necessary.
There was a large choice of kimonos/obis/bags/hair ornaments and shoes all in perfect condition. Even the August temperature couldn't lower our enthusiasm !
I completely recommand the experience ! We received compliments from natives on the street and shot beautiful pictures.

They had a lot of options of gorgeous kimonos and I was indecisive. They were so nice and helped me picked a beautiful blue kimono and did a great job. Even though I forgot something inside twice they were so sweet and let me in. I was able to walk around comfortably and a lot of people loved my attire and hairdo. I was so happy on it. Best highlight of my trip! ❤ Thank you!

A Memorable Cultural Experience: The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful
Reviewed by: Konoikeshinden, 2018/06/06The kimonos we rented were beautiful. The price of the activity was very reasonable. We were given ample time to tour Asakusa in our kimonos. Everything was perfect EXCEPT for the extremely irritable lady, who dressed me up with the kimono. She was very grumpy and the way she spoke to me was not very nice. She must be having a bad day, and she was taking it out on me. I would have given this activity the highest review possible if it were not for this staff member, who was not living up to the Japanese reputation of giving customers excellent service. I was also unable to contact the phone number indicated on the voucher despite repeated attempts, which was quite frustrating.
The staff member at the reception area was very friendly and kind though. Despite the unpleasant experience with the lady who dressed me up, I'd still recommend this activity to everyone, who wants to have the a unique cultural experience in Japan.

場所は浅草のど真ん中ではないのですが、その分静かで落ち着いた場所にある、とっても雰囲気がいいところでした。他のお客さんでガヤガヤせず、ゆっくり選べたので自分にはすごく良かったです。
オーナーさんはとても和装にお詳しく、浴衣の選び方からマナーまで、いろいろ相談にのって頂きました。最初に数点セレクトしていただいたのですが、どれも自分に合っていて驚きました。和装は「季節外れや場違いなセレクトをしてないだろうか？」という不安がいつもあるのですが、そこもオーナーさんにちゃんと見てもらえたので安心でした。
残念ながら大雨で予定時間まで着られなかったのですが、次もまたお願いしたいと思いました。

着物で心配なのが、帯や小物との色合いですが、こちらもプロのアドバイスが受けられるので安心です。アドバイスも、「これこれでなくてはいけない」という制限らしいのではなく、基本的には好きなものを好きなように、という感じでとても良かったです。フォーマルランチ等でまた利用させていただきます。ありがとうございました。

We took some photos inside and then went out on the street to take more photos. We all had a really good time. You don't need to return the kimono until the end of the day.

It was really fun

The shop was very clean and even though everyone seemed quite busy, they all treated us kindly and with a smile. When you live overseas for a long time, this kind of Japanese hospitality is really moving. I would like to do a kimono rental next time.

Kimono Rental With my Thai Girlfriend
Reviewed by: Yuutaro, 2016/08/12In April, my Thai girlfriend and I went together for this kimono rental experience. Unfortunately, it was a little rainy outside, but the meeting place for the activity was inside and the shop had a classy feel. The person who helped us put on the kimono spoke English, and I noticed a lot of non-Japanese customers. My girlfriend can't speak any Japanese, so this was really helpful for us.
We went to wear kimono together, and even as a guy, I thought it was really fun. More than that, my girlfriend was happy and that was the best. It seems like many people have an interest in Japanese kimono, so if you have friends from overseas, you should definitely bring them to do this.
Since you can wear the kimonos for the whole day (until 6pm), we got on the train and headed for Asakusa. It was kind of funny since so many travelers were staring at us. We had a lot of people ask to take pictures with us. It felt like we were famous.
After that, we wandered around Tokyo Skytree, Ginza and the Imperial palace, wearing the kimono to our heart's content! I definitely recommend this to travelers. I really enjoyed this tour.

You can choose your own Kimono and Obi. You can walk around Tokyo while wearing Kimono but you have to return Kimono before 6.00 P.M.

You should do it!
Reviewed by: HappyHawaiian, 2016/06/29Wear a real kimono? Check that off the bucket list and preserve those memories in one easy experience. The studio is conveniently located near to Meguro station, within walking distance, even for a two and three year old. The two owners are fluent in English and were EXCELLENT in helping to prepare and photograph my rambunctious toddlers...not an easy feat! Our family looked GREAT and the pictures are fantastic!
My only caution is that although the description reads "40 cuts", you actually only receive your top two choices and need to pay more in order to have all of your pics put onto a cd. It was still a reasonable price, it's just that we weren't expecting additional costs prior to arriving, although it was made clear to us at the beginning of the session.
All in all, the ladies went above and beyond to give us a wonderful family experience.

Reviewed by: Shannon and Lynn, 2015/05/15We were very well received and greeted by the staffs and the owner when we stepped into the shop which is located on the 4th Level of a nice shopping mall. Then we were brought to a room to select our kimono before the friendly staffs helped us to dress up. Very professional. The selection of Kimono may not be as wide range as compared to Kyoto's Kimono rental shops. However, is good enough. One bonus was the staffs will match the chosen textile with your skin tone and advise accordingly.
We wore the kimono and shop around at Ginza area before we have to return the rental set by 6p.m. If possible, we would hope that they could provide make-up or hair doing services liked those shops at Kyoto. We were dressed up beautifully but without a nice hair do and makeup (since we are tourists).
Will recommend to anyone who has yet to try putting on Kimono..... to check out the shop.

今回は、2人で着物体験をさせて頂きましたが、男性の僕でもすごく楽しめました。それ以上に、タイ人の彼女が喜んでくれたので最高です。外国人は、やっぱり日本の着物文化に興味があるようですね。ぜひ、海外からの友だちを連れていってあげて下さい。
着物は1日中（18時まで）借りることが出来るため、僕らは電車に乗って浅草へ。旅行者が僕らをずっと見ていて可笑しかったです。外国人からは、何度も「写真を一緒に撮らせて！」とお願いされました。何だか有名人になった気分。
その後は、東京スカイツリーや銀座、皇居などをぶらりと周って、思う存分着物を体験できた1日でした。特に外国人には絶対にオススメしたい大満足なツアーでした♪

The whole experience was so amazingly wonderful. The girls spoke English well and we were able to communicate. There were so many different gorgeous Kimonos to choose from. They help to make my hair and had an abundance of hair pins to choose from (There were so many different ones that I couldn't make my choice but was glad that I had their guidance.) The photo shoot was very friendly and fun. I definitely enjoyed my pictures afterwards and wanted all of them. Best of all, you finished your experience with sweets and macha tea in the end. What girl doesn't like ending with sweets right? This was definitely a fun experience and would recommend to anyone!

Beautiful Kimonos and Incredible welcome
Reviewed by: Ffion, 2015/04/26As there were no reviews of this experience, I was not sure what to expect but as soon as our taxi pulled up at the address and there was a clear sign directing to us to the right floor, I was reassured!
We were greeted by two incredibly hospitable and welcoming Japanese ladies who were incredibly passionate about their business. It was honestly a priviledge to visit them in their studio. First there was the opportunity to choose a Kimono to my tastes and then they did my hair in a style fitting for the Kimono (you also get to choose matching hair accessories too) which was great. After this I touched up my make up and they began to put the Kimono on.
The main experience is then having your photos taken in the studio part along with some fun Japanese accessories. For this experience you have one printed photo included from the photo shoot and you can pay extra to take the digital prints away - which I did as it wasn't too expensive.
I can honestly say that the whole experience was fun and professional with the Japanese ladies making you feel totally at ease the whole time. My husband came along (but he didn't fancy dressing up!) and they made him feel very welcome too and let him take photos of me for free in the kimono outside of the studio too (which I thought was very generous).
After the photo shoot we were both served some delicious green tea and Japanese sweets which ended off the experience brilliantly. This was a totally worthwhile experience and in my opinion much better than walking around outside in a Kimono which I saw lots of tourists do! The quality of their kimonos is so much better and as they are more princess style, it feels incredibly luxurious to wear them. As the lift doors closed at the end of this experience we were left with the image of the two ladies bowing to us on our way out - I cannot rate them highly enough.
Overall a fantastic experience and I'm so glad I chose to do it!
