Great experience and souvenir!
Reviewed by: Jay, 2017/06/03Have loved tenugui since i discovered their existence in my trip last year and getting to go through the process to make my own sounded great. Easily got to train station and met on time by my host with a name board. Five minute walk to location & some time to admire the beautiful tenugui in their shop while my fellow maker arrived. No pressure to buy at all. Watched video (with both Japanese and English versions available) which was probably 20 minutes long and really explained well the many steps of producing these beautiful cloths.
Then to workshop and three hosts took us through the stages of printing, blocking & dying (the chusen dye technique). At all stages we could take part. The teaching was targeted at the right level: clear but not then stopping us from having a go ourselves. English explanation was given.
Finished article very successful & we got to take home two each. About 2 hours total, likely longer in bigger group. Recommended!

Great day!
Reviewed by: Paul., 2015/09/25I had a great afternoon with the workshop and it's hosts. The English to Japanese connection wasn't always perfect, but it didn't matter; it was a fun day of demonstration and learning. A really friendly crew.
