Before the experience, we will explain about Kyoto-style wagashi. By learning about their visual beauty and the relationship with tea, you may rediscover the charm of Japanese culture. This knowledge will likely make the experience even more enjoyable.
You will make wagashi using red bean paste from a long-established anko shop in Kyoto. The wagashi will be authentically crafted using white bean paste made from white kidney beans and smooth red bean paste made from domestic azuki beans.
After making the flower-shaped nerikiri, you will proceed to make kinton-style nerikiri. The nerikiri you will make varies with the seasons (24 solar terms), so you can enjoy a different experience each month you visit.
The finished nerikiri are truly edible works of art. Once you have completed making them, please enjoy taking photos.
