Not a good tour from the start.
Reviewed by: Bob Tripp, 2019/06/15The tour started out badly and ended the same way. First of all the driver/toue guide was supposed to come into the hotel with a sign board with our names on it. This never happened and we had to go outside and track him down. Secondly the driver was supposed to speak English. This was not the case and the driver barely understood anything we were asking of him or any grasp of conversational English. He kept apologizing but this didn't help at all. Thirdly instead of being a guide the driver did nothing but act as a chauffeur taking us from one location to another and letting us out to go on our own. Next the driver or company did not research the locations that we requested since we wanted to go to Pokemon Center at Sunshine City and the driver had no idea where it was and we had to give him directions on how to get there. Lastly we decided to call it an early day due to frustration with our given situation. We asked the driver to please take us to a McDonald's on the way back to our hotel. He kept nodding his head in agreement every time we mentioned McDonald's but never went to the restaurant but instead passed it and took us straight to our hotel. Overall this is a tour I would not recommend. We were really looking forward to it and were very sadly disappointed.

Great tour despite the rain and cloud
Reviewed by: Rachel, 2019/04/24A really good tour to see Mount Fuji even though it was raining with snow underfoot and clouds we got a glimpse of the mountain on the way down
Our tour guide and driver were very knowledgeable and the bullet train for the return was fantastic. Lunch was very tasty and in a lovely restaurant. If you missed the Blossum’s in Tokyo you will still see them on this tour

Great introduction to Tokyo
Reviewed by: Ralph, 2019/04/04Our driver, Shu, was prompt and courteous and spoke good English. The van was clean and modern. Since this was our first time in Tokyo, we relied on our driver to help us select sights to see. He went out of his way to create a great experience for us. He showed us the parks with cherry blossoms which was our main objective. He also pointed out other major sights that we returned to the next day via metro. He guided us to a non-touristy sushi restaurant for a very authentic Japanese lunch experience.

OK Driver but Not a Guide
Reviewed by: David Siegel, 2018/11/22I can't complain about Sakai as a driver, since he picked us up on time, took us to all the places we had arranged to go, and got us back to our hotel right on time. As a tour guide, however, he disappointed us because he provided very little commentary about what we were seeing. When we asked questions he answered, but otherwise he did not volunteer much information as we drove through the city and its points of interest.

Kyoto to Nara

Tour: Yamazaki Distellery, Wasuka tea plantation
Masazumisan, our driver and guide was punctual, professional and patient.
I cannot recommend Veltra and their team in Japan highly.

Tokyo Private Sightseeing Tour with English Speaking Driver / Full Size Van
Reviewed by: Jeannette and Tony, 2018/10/02The tour guide Yoshi was great. The tour started at the cruise ship dock (we arrived by ship) and ended at our hotel. Yoshi was very accomading He had a set tour but first asked if there was anything specific we wanted to see or do. This tour had a nice variety of stops, including "Oriental Bazaar" (great shopping for local items), and the kitchen district.
Great way to get a taste of this huge city.

Friendly Guide

I could recommend to take more hours for flexible visit. Thank you Mr Herick guide us at most enjoyable tour on the day trip at tokyo; and also very good recommended lunch at the italian food restaurant. ;)

Tour guide very respectful
Reviewed by: Nancy E, 2017/11/01We were picked up promptly for our 3-hour tour. There was some misunderstanding, as our guide dropped us off at a shrine and went off to have breakfast. He had been told we only wanted a driver, and we had booked a "private guided tour". When he picked us up we figured out the misunderstanding. From then on he showed us many sites and was extremely respectful of us and our time constraints.

Great tour!

Our driver was really nice and friendly. It was so nice to stop and get back in a car to be driven to the next location. It felt like when you visit a friend and they take you to sightsee.

Superb service from excellent driver

He took us to each of the places we had said we wanted to visit and happily explained what we were looking at and some history if appropriate. Those who say that you should stick to the subway are misguided. The traffic levels were fine.

It was what we needed

The van arrived on time in both days, and the driver in both days was very courteous and helpful. Our family was traveling with my 85 year old mother, who cannot walk as easily as we can. By using this service, all of us enjoyed two days of sightseeing without tiring my mother out.

Tokyo Day Tour
Reviewed by: Shrikant Dikhale, 2016/06/13We were 2 families (6 Adults) making a first trip to Japan in May 2016. We had only 3 days in Tokyo and so we decided to take a 1-Day Bus tour. However, my wife came across Veltra private sightseeing tour in a Van which was marginally higher than the bus tour ! So we decided to opt for this option ....and it turned out to be a great decision :-) . We had a very good guide, Ms. Tekano, who was very young and was enthusiastic and helpful in planning out itinerary. She also spoke English quite fluently which was very good for our group as none of us knew any Japanese whatsoever !
The best part of this trip was the flexibility as we started leisurely and went with the flow - no mad rush to meet deadlines !!
Will certainly do this for our second trip to Japan ....which we all hope is soon !!!
Strongly recommend if you are in group of 5 to 9.

Our driver, Eddie's command of English is good, hence it was very easy to communicate our needs & wish list to him.
Our family of 9 members (mainly old folks) managed to cover a lot of Tokyo under Eddie's guidance & driving, which we could not have accomplished without a vehicle or someone guiding us.

Way to Travel

We were in Tokyo for a week and since we weren't familiar with the train systems, we decided to use Veltra's custom tour to sightsee. We visited the Ghibli Museum, Tsukiji Market and Akahibara electronic district the first time.
Once we knew where we wanted to do some serious shopping, we once again made reservations for a custom tour. It was a godsend to have this service both times. Needless to say, we filled the tricks of the car both times with shopping goodies.
Aside from the convenience, both drivers were professional, helpful and spoke English. It was a wonderful experience and we would reserve a custom tour again when we visit Tokyo.
