Celebrating a birthday with scuba diving was definitely unforgettable. On 2 June, it was my first time scuba diving experience in Okinawa, without speaking the local language of Japanese, we were lucky to find this promotional offer with a good English speaking scuba diving instructor who guided us through the whole procedure and process. First, we drove the car to locate the instructor near the deck, surprisingly, the instructor was being called from the shop and he brought me and my boyfriend over the shop to get change. Fortunately, we were able to lock up our valuable belongings at the shop, which saves us the hassle of worrying where to put them. Then, the instructor walked us back to the deck and brought us down onto the speed boat. The weather however on the day was a little rainy; while the speed boat is getting us to the middle of the sea, where the destination supposed to be, the instructor was explaining the scuba diving procedures and steps with both of us with patience. He taught us how to use each of the scuba equipment, such as, putting on the mask properly to avoid water going into our nose, breathing in and out using our mouth instead of the nose, breathing with the regulator to get oxygen from the tank behind, getting the right size fins to swim in the water, and etc. After those, the instructor went through some safety guidelines and things we need to be careful when we are under the sea, such as, carefully moving around the water by watching out rocks, fishes, sharks or anything that could be harmful to you. Beside these, since we are breathing with our regulators and are unable to communicate, so the instructor taught us a few hand signals for communicating.
