    20160331Ohgonkuzukiri01 Try exquisitely prepared Japanese sweets garnished in gold leaf, said to bring good luck and fortune, at this historic teahouse.
    From Oct. 1 to mid-Apr, participants can request to change the gold leaf kudzu starch noodle dish to a gold leaf azuki bean soup for no additional charge on the day.

    • Please present a printed copy of your voucher sheet at reception.
    • This is an unguided plan. Please go to the venue on your own. Kaikaro is open 9:00-17:00, 7 days a week (excluding Dec 31 - Jan 1, during which the teahouse will operate between 9:00-16:00). Refunds will not be issued even to customers who arrive late due to public transportation delays and are unable to participate in the tour. Please give yourself plenty of time for transportation.
    • Access: Take the bus from bus bay No.3, or No.4 at Kanazawa Station and get off at Hashiba-cho (approx. 10 min). The teahouse is about 5 minutes on foot from the bus stop. Alternatively, 15 minutes by taxi from Kanazawa Station.
    • Please make your way around the venue on your own. Depending on staff availability on the day, English and Chinese speaking staff will be able to answer questions related to the teahouse.
    • Kaikaro is a historical building established over 190 years ago. Please make sure to remove footwear before entering the venue. Socks must be worn inside the premises. Kaikaro is not wheelchair accessible. There are a number of steps and stairs within the venue, so please take care when making your way around the building. Consumption of food or drink is prohibited inside the building. Large bags and umbrellas are not permitted.
    • Visitors are free to take photos during the tour. Be considerate of others by helping to maintain a quiet, peaceful atmosphere.
    • Infants may accompany parents or guardians during the tour, but will not receive the original goods.
    • Children (ages 0-5 years) will be able to participate for free under the following conditions.
      Tour:
      An individual seat will not be provided. Please have them sit on the lap of their parent or guardian. If there are seats available, they are welcome to use it, however they will not be getting a priority in seating.
      An individual meal or snack will not be provided as well.
      If you would like any of the above for children (ages 0-5 years), please book them as a child.
    • The tour fee is inclusive of the teahouse entrance fee, teahouse charges, and all associated taxes. At the teahouse, participants will receive a powdered green tea and Japanese sweets set. Other menu items are not included in the booking price. Please pay for any additional orders, including associated taxes, to the restaurant on the day. All on-site payments must be made in cash (credit cards not accepted).
    • The tour fee is inclusive of the teahouse entrance fee, teahouse charges, and all associated taxes.
    • At the teahouse, participants will receive a gold leaf kudzu starch noodle dish, or gold leaf azuki bean soup (scheduled Oct. 1 to mid-Apr). Other menu items are not included in the booking price. Please pay for any additional orders, including associated taxes, to the restaurant on the day. All on-site payments must be made in cash (credit cards not accepted).
    • From Oct. 1 to mid-Apr, participants can request to change the gold leaf kudzu starch noodle dish to a gold leaf azuki bean soup for no additional charge on the day.
    • Please be aware that the tour may be cancelled, or dates changed due to unforeseen operation concerns. In such cases, customers will be contacted and notified of any changes.
