  • 09:45 Meet at Glass Studio Punty
  • 10:00 Step 1 (About 20 minutes)
吹きガラス体験 Take the glass from the smelting furnace and wind it on a blow tube. The hot glass is very soft and if you stop spinning the tube it will stretch out. You need to keep spinning the tube.
  • Step 2
Color the transparent glass and add bubbles with baking powder.
  • Step 3
Assistant blows and makes the small ball for the next step.
  • Step 4
Assistant covers the small ball with another glass and shapes the body of the cup.
  • Step 5
Use a special tool called a kukuri to set up the glass to be separated.
  • Step 6
Smooth the bottom of the glass using a wooden iron.
  • Step 7
Transfer the glass onto a punty pole, and separate the glass from the blow tube.
  • Step 8
While the glass is hot, finish the cup by widening the open end.
  • Step 9
    Completion!
  • 10:20 Tour ends at Glass Studio Punty
