I scrambled to get a pocket wifi rental booked 2 weeks before my trip to Japan during the height of the cherry blossom season, so I ended up looking at most, if not all, of pocket wifi rental prices for 10 days. Veltra was the only place that still had availabilities but not seeing many reviews online, I was hesitant to try it. However, Veltra ended up not only offering the lowest price for 10 days ($52 at the time I rented) but also did not charge for delivery and free returns to and from the hotel I was staying. The device worked wonderfully throughout my trip to Tokyo, Atami, Osaka, Kyoto, and Kanazawa for multiple devices, including Skype calls overseas. The device was delivered prior to my check in so I was handed the package as soon as I arrived. Very convenient and a must for freign travelers in Japan. I highly recommend Veltra.

I often use Hop-on-Hop-off buses when traveling abroad, but I didn't know they were available in Japan. This time, I took all three routes to enjoy cherry blossom viewing. I was a bit worried that traffic jams might disrupt the bus schedule, but I was amazed at how accurate it was. I would love to ride again in a different season.

The wifi works in all major cities. I had no problem with receiving and mailing out the wifi. I had it shipped to a residents house. I dropped it off at a local convenient store.

I used the service from March 20 to 21.
I felt a thrill when passing just under the bridge supports, near the highway entrances, and right next to the plantings at each stop.
There were times when we had a Japanese guide and times when we didn't, and I thought it would have been better to have explanations.
It was extremely cold with the wind blowing, but I still enjoyed it to some extent.

日本語のガイドさんが付いているときとそうでないときがあって、せっかくなら説明があったほうがよいと思いました。
風に吹かれて超寒かったですけど、それなりに楽しめました。

It was already in my room at the hotel and the signal was perfect. So convenient!

We booked the pick up service and it happened that we had to arrive in Tokyo 2 days earlier. I informed veltra by email 12 hours before my arrival and they were kind enough to arrange for the pick up at such short notice. As we got out of customs we saw our driver waiting for us with our name tags. He was extenely sweet and helpful. He was very patient and guided us to currency exchange and waited while we got done.
The drive from the airport was long but not boring as the driver took interest and showed us all the places that were passing by.
He was very informative and hospitable!

Pick up location is easy to find,bus arrived on time.

During this season, the second floor was cold, but it was refreshing to look down at the streets of Tokyo from above. I would appreciate it if you could increase the number of trains a bit more.

This was a great way for my family and I to tour Tokyo. Using the trains you cannot see the city, and it was very useful to see how to get around Tokyo and how the neighborhoods connect. We stopped at Sky Tree, Asakusa, Akihabara and Nihonbashi, and had enough time to explore each place without rushing. My parents really enjoyed it.

WiFi was delivered to my hotel on the day of my arrival. Prompt response after I discovered that the speed was not up to standard. A new equipment was sent to my hotel the following day even though it was a weekend.

I took a friend from overseas who just started working in Tokyo. We took the SKY HOP bus with the greatest weather. It made our day the best. Even though I live in Tokyo, thanks to the guide I found something new in Tokyo. It truly changed my mood by sightseeing, shopping and the lunch. The sightseeing course is perfect for couples or families. Today we took only one course from the three. Next time I would like to try the others.

I had a one-day ticket, so I rode twice, first at 10:20, from Marunouchi to Skytree, second at 17:30 from Marunouchi to Odaiba. When I was on the first row, it felt like a rollercoaster even though it was a normal curve. You can see a 360 degree panoramic view in the middle as well as in the back. It was so overwhelming. I would highly recommend it for small children. As a grownup, I enjoyed the bus guide’s story, full of knowledge.

Rented this pocket wifi during my trip to Tokyo / Kyoto / Osaka. Very convenient and easy to use, even though the instruction is in Japanese. Speed is awesome, very fast! Recommended to those who will travel to Japan.

Rented this pocket wifi online when I travelled to Japan. It was delivered to the hotel where I stayed during my trip. Its easy and convenient to use. I emailed customer service for some questions and they answered promptly. I had no problem using and returning it. I will consider renting again with veltra on my next travel.

We rented the pocket wifi LTE version for 15 days. Pickup scheduled at Narita Nikko Hotel worked without problems. It was fantastic. We used Viber to send photos real time to USA family and spoke many times with USA family members even on bullet train at over 100+ mph!! I used Google Maps extensively to follow train, bus, cab, walking paths throughout Japan from mountainous Hakone(near Mt. Fuji) to crowded cities like Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe etc!! It was all possible with the wifi in my coatpocket.

While shopping, I used wifi to compare prices with Amazon.com in US or look up product features on things I needed. We could even have more than 5 devices routing at the same time including Barnes and Noble Nooks, Blackberry, Android phones etc.. I even continued online course on MongoDB database using wifi. I downloaded necessary books, course material, and viewed videos provided by course without problems. It was like never leaving the USA as far as connectivity. Thanks Veltra and Pocke Wifi Rental for greatly enhancing a wonderful Japan trip!!

It was an amazing experience having this Wifi Router we have never experienced to have a gadget like this when we were in America and even in some other Asian Countries. A must have, so much better than an expensive international data plan! Unlimited data delivered to your hotel, and returning is as simple as giving it back to your hotel with the return slip via ta-q-bin. Also very good for navigating and accurate gps locating using google maps or other apps, especially the japan transit app. We would be lost in the dark with out this device. Connect any devices that uses wifi. Forget about waiting to get to a hotel wifi to post pictures about your trip, do it instantly!

I did not get any problems receiving it at my hotel or using it.
However the explanation to send it back is a little bit confusing.
I just went to the nearest post office and send it in the same package i received it.

I exchanged my points for a bus ticket since Alan's points were about to expire. It was valid for 24 hours, covered three routes, and included a live guide, which was very good.

Upon exit at Narita Airport, chauffeur is already waiting for us with my name on a plaque card. Courteously, he helped us carry our luggage with a trolley. Van was huge and clean. More than enough for the 4 of us adults and a toddler. He drives carefully and safely. There was free Wifi on board. Got to our destination on time.

We stayed connected while touring around Tokyo, even inside the trains. Battery life was amazing that lasts for 1 whole day. Even though Tokyo has lots of free wifi hotspots, it is very handy to bring along your own wifi, it's not so expensive after all. Speeds come up to 30 mbps.
Hassle free return also through any convenience store.

Chauffeur arrived outside our hotel earlier than expected. Gladly, he greeted us and carried our luggage in the van. The van is clean, huge and comfortable, more than enough for us 4 adults and 1 toddler and all of our luggage. The driver is courteous, drives very carefully and safely, that I fell asleep. We arrived at Narita airport earlier than expected, which gave us an opportunity to do some last minute duty free shopping.

Rented the pocket wifi for 10 days and it arrived promptly at my hotel before we arrived, picked up from the front desk, had some confusion to using it as instructions was in Japanese, approached my hotel's front desk and was told that a SIM card was needed, so I emailed Veltra and they replied quickly. The SIM card was already included just needed to on/off my device again to get it going, login details/password was also on the side of the box! Got my wifi going! Worked in subways and even when I was in Yudanaka( mountain regions). Very good pricing, just hope that some form of english instructions can be included as well. Had to pay postage to send it back, could be done at the hotel or airport. Would rent again!!!
