The weather that day was rainy, and we couldn't see Kusasenri due to the fog, and we also couldn't go to Nakadake, which was very disappointing. I traveled from Saitama to Kyushu by train and was looking for a day tour. I hesitated to join an internationally diverse tour, but from the moment I arrived at the meeting point, there were no problems.
Guide Chen's smile and stress-free conversation promised a fun day on the tour. This tour, which allows you to enjoy history and nature, is highly recommended. There was plenty of time to stay, and I was satisfied.
Lunch is free, but Chen provided recommendations for restaurants and menu items, which was great. If anyone is unsure, I definitely recommend participating. I might start planning my next trip...
埼玉から鉄道で九州入りし、日帰りで回れるツアーを探していました。国際色豊かなツアーに参加を迷いましたが、集合場所に着いた瞬間からノープロブレムです。

It was my first time visiting Kumamoto Castle and Mount Aso since my middle school trip! I had a delicious lunch and spent a wonderful time at Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, which was truly lovely! It was a great deal.

The tour was primarily conducted in Chinese, but there were also some explanations in Japanese, which was not a problem. The distance from Fukuoka to Kumamoto was considerable, and the time spent at tourist sites (strict timekeeping, free time) was short, making it quite a busy experience. However, there were toilet breaks, and the lunch was good, providing satisfaction that exceeded the price. This was primarily a bus tour in Chinese. Aside from us and another group of Japanese tourists, most of the participants were from Chinese-speaking regions, but it was not a problem. Our guide, Mr. Zhang, provided explanations in Japanese very politely.
One particularly impressive site was the Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, which is said to have a landscape like an "entrance to another world." After passing through the shrine and climbing further up the slope, we enjoyed a solemn view at a wind hole.
When I visited before, I had to give up on Aso Nakadake because it was off-limits, but this time we were able to visit it somehow. It was lucky that we boarded the bus just before it was closed due to volcanic gas.

The weather was great, making it the perfect day. Our tour guide, Mr. Chou, was a wonderful guide who was very attentive. I've visited Kumamoto Castle and Mount Aso several times, and while they are easily accessible by car, I decided to join the tour for a more relaxed experience. It was my first time visiting the shrine, and it was a lovely place. Mr. Chou also shared the history of Kumamoto Castle, as well as highlights and local specialties from other sites. Although it was a mixed tour with international tourists, everything went smoothly, and I was able to end the day on a high note.

I was surprised that instead of going to a hot spring, we were going to a souvenir shop. Out of 30 participants, I was the only Japanese person. The rest were of Chinese descent. The guide was also of Chinese descent, so the explanations of the highlights were long and detailed in Chinese, while in Japanese, it was only about the meeting place and time. There were 15 participants on the day, so we used a small bus, which felt a bit cramped. This number of participants is quite tricky. If there were just a few more people, I think we could have used a larger bus with two seats per person...

I only had 40 minutes to visit Kumamoto Castle and couldn't make it to the top of the main keep. I wish I had a bit more time. It was disappointing that I couldn't go to Aso Nakadake due to bad weather. I would like to visit both places again. The tour was mainly for Chinese tourists, and there were just the two of us Japanese, but the tour guide was very kind, and I was able to enjoy the sightseeing without any worries.

I was the only Japanese person, and the rest were from China, so the guidance was in Chinese. They didn't seem to be very good at Japanese, so I received a sheet with the Japanese text explaining the course, which was not a problem. The crater of Mount Aso Nakadake was erupting, and the smoke was quite impressive, so we couldn't go there and changed to Kusasenri instead. Visiting the Aso crater is not possible by large bus, so you have to walk quite a distance. This time, we were able to go all the way up, and since the wind was blowing in the opposite direction, there was no distinctive odor, allowing us to focus on taking photos. It also depends on the weather, but I believe that, along with that, is part of the charm of traveling, and it made me feel like the experience was elevated to a whole new level.
阿蘇の火口見学は、大型バスだと上まで行けず、かなりの距離徒歩になるとか。
今回は、上まで行けて、風向きも逆だったので、独特の臭気もなく、写真撮影に専念出来ました。

I was searching for a tour to visit Aso Kusasenri and finally found this one. We were the only Japanese participants, while the rest of the group was quite international, including people from China, South Korea, Switzerland, Germany, the United States, and Poland. Our guide, Ryu, provided guidance in both Chinese and English, while also being very considerate towards us.
Initially, we couldn't enter the crater due to restrictions, but after checking by phone following our visit to Kusasenri, we learned that the restrictions had been lifted, which prompted applause from the bus participants! Thanks to that, we were able to see the impressive crater up close. We arrived late to Dazaifu Tenmangu, which was changed from Kurokawa Onsen, due to traffic, and the shops at the entrance were closed, but the quiet atmosphere of the shrine at dusk was actually very nice.

阿蘇草千里を訪れるツアーを探していてようやく見つけたのがこちらのツアーでした。参加者は日本人は私達二人だけ、あとは中国、韓国、スイス、ドイツ、アメリカ、ポーランド‥と国際色豊かなツアーでした。ガイドのリュウさんは中国語と英語で案内をしつつ、私達にも細やかに気を遣ってくれました。
火口は最初規制で入れなかったのですが、草千里の後電話で確認してくれたら規制が解除されて入れるとのこと、バスの参加者から拍手がわき起こりました！おかげで迫力ある噴火口を間近でみることができました。黒川温泉から変更になった太宰府天満宮へは渋滞で着くのが遅くなり、門前のお店は閉まっていたのですが、夕暮れの天満宮は静かで逆にとても良かったです。

I was a bit anxious about the language being "Chinese," but as others have mentioned, Japanese was also fine. However, there were 21 participants, and only 3 were Japanese, so the atmosphere on the bus was quite quiet, with everyone adhering to the rules. Kumamoto Castle is still under restoration, but the tours before the earthquake seemed challenging with the stairs, so the elevator was a blessing for elderly couples. Mount Aso had a level 2 entry restriction, so we couldn't go to the crater, which was disappointing. The Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine was not on our radar, but we experienced its impressive solemnity, although the climb was tough. Since we were individual tour guests, the return bus became a grand showcase of delicious dinner spots in Hakata from our guide, and we were introduced to a great "motsunabe" restaurant. It felt like a Kyushu gourmet tour with motsunabe, basashi, vinegar motsu, and karashi renkon, and the fatigue from the 8 AM departure and 6 PM arrival was completely lifted. I was very satisfied in a slightly different way. One complaint (perhaps?) is that I applied through VELTORA, and while I received a voucher via email from the organizing tour company, it seems that the actual company conducting the tour is different. It took some time to find which tour was ours at the meeting point at the Chikushi Exit of Hakata Station, which was a bit nerve-wracking.
対応言語が「中国語」で不安もありましたが、他の方も書いていたように日本語も大丈夫でした。ただし、参加者２１人、日本人は３人で、台湾・香港の個人ツアー客中心ということで皆さんバスの中も静か時間もきっちり守っていました。熊本城はまだまだ復旧途中ですが地震前のツアーは階段やら大変そうで高齢夫婦にはエレベーターがありがたかったです。阿蘇山は入山規制レベル２で火口まではいけませんでした、残念。上色見熊野座神社はノーマークでしたが、なかなかの荘厳さを味わいましたが登りがきつかった。個人ツアー客ということで帰りのバスはガイドさんの博多のおいしい夕食スポットの大披露会となり、私たちもおいしい「もつ鍋屋さん」を教えてもらい、もつ鍋、馬刺し、酢もつ、からし蓮根と九州旨いものツアーをやったような気分で、８時発18時着の疲れもすっかり取れました。ちょっと違う意味でも大満足でした。一つ、苦情（？）を言えばVELTORAに申し込んで、主催ツアー会社の入ったバウチャーはメールで来てましたが、実際にツアーを実施する会社はまた別なのでしょうか。博多駅筑紫口の集合場所はツアーバスの集合場所でどれが目的のツアーか見つけるのに時間がかかりドキドキでした。

It's a trip where you can experience traditional Japanese culture. Kumamoto Castle, Aso, and Kurokawa Onsen are all wonderful! However, it was a bit disappointing that there were mostly Chinese tourists, and it was somewhat noisy.

The tour consisted mainly of people from China besides us. The bus guide primarily spoke in Chinese, but communicated the meeting times and locations in Japanese. When the bus guide was speaking, I used a translation app to translate the Chinese and follow along. I was a bit anxious because of reviews mentioning a lot of foreign participants, but the bus guide was very nice and helpful.
The restrooms at Daikanbo and Kurokawa Onsen parking areas are not very clean, so I recommend using the restrooms at Kumamoto Castle or inside the ryokan.

The bus was mostly filled with 25 Chinese tourists besides us, and due to the heavy snow, we couldn't see Mount Aso. Walking to the hot springs was difficult in the snow, but the only highlight was Kumamoto Castle, which was great! I want to go again in the summer next time!

There were about 20 participants, including myself as the only Japanese, a Korean parent and child, and the rest were Chinese (including the guide). Instead of a sightseeing bus, we departed in three HiAce vans from a taxi company. We were informed that there would be no restroom breaks for the first two hours, so we headed towards Kumamoto Castle. Once we arrived, there was immediately a restroom break, and after receiving our entrance tickets, we had free time. Overall, everyone seemed to share similar impressions as the reviews suggested. Indeed, compared to Japanese travel companies, they might be slightly less efficient, but considering the public transportation is inconvenient around Aso, if you view it as transportation and lunch costs, I had no particular complaints.
By the way, since the participation date was just before a holiday, we returned an hour late due to heavy traffic. (Later, when I spoke with other travel companies, they mentioned that the traffic on that day was quite severe.) If you have a flight to catch, please be cautious.

It felt a bit challenging with all the movement, but I was glad to visit places I wouldn't normally go. I was taken to some great locations.
However, I was disappointed that the internal guide only spoke Korean, with Japanese only providing the meeting time and minimal information. It would have been nice to hear more enjoyable details about the scenery and local information from the bus guide. I think the Korean guide was probably saying other things too. For Japanese people, the tour felt somewhat lacking.

There was no Japanese guide since I was on the same bus as Chinese tourists, and only one Japanese person. The reception was in Japanese, but the guide spoke entirely in Chinese, and the instructions were given in Chinese followed by only a few words in Japanese with a Chinese accent, making it difficult to understand. After several minutes of explanation in Chinese, the instructions in Japanese, like "10 minutes," were just single words indicating when to gather. While I can hold a basic conversation, I would prefer clear Japanese instructions for confirmations about meeting times and locations. Additionally, there are places where the meeting point is listed as Fukuoka Station instead of Hakata Station, which should be corrected. The tourist spots were good, but I felt the time spent there was too short.
