It was amazing!
I participated with a friend who came from Fukuoka to enjoy some winter activities!
Even though it's close to the city center, we were able to fully enjoy the snowy mountains and nature of Hokkaido (we even saw a flock of Siberian chipmunks!). The guide was kind, attentive, and above all, a lot of fun! I would love to go to a different place with the same guide next time!
Also, it was really helpful that we could go without having to carry anything!

I came to Asahiyama Memorial Park, which is less than a 30-minute drive from Sapporo, to experience snowshoeing for the first time. The guide was very good at storytelling and took great photos and videos. Snowshoeing was not difficult and was a wonderful gear to enjoy the snowy landscape. I was able to see a long-tailed tit from a distance, and I managed to capture it on video, although the image doesn't clearly show that it's a long-tailed tit. I participated in mid-March, and it snowed heavily the night before, allowing us to enjoy snowshoeing in the fluffy fresh snow!

Led by an experienced guide, we walked through the park/forest, taking photos at picturesque spots and making snow angels. I learned a lot about the animals, trees, and plants in Asahiyama Memorial Park. We were lucky to find adorable red fox footprints and even spotted a long-tailed tit! I never expected to have such a wonderful outdoor experience so close to downtown Sapporo.

On the day of the event, the shuttle service to the hotel was very convenient, and if requested, we could also rent a full set of gear, including clothing and shoes. They even had shoes available in size 30 cm and larger sizes like XL for my partner!

Advice:
- In the world of white snow, the weather was excellent, and the sunglasses I brought were very helpful.
- Since I tend to get cold easily, I overdressed, which was a mistake. They provide warm outerwear for rent, and since there is a lot of physical activity, depending on the temperature that day, it might be good to wear something easy to take off and adjust while changing in the car before departure. Once you set off, it’s difficult to remove inner layers.
- Another thing I regret is not applying sunscreen or lip balm on my lips. My lips got sunburned and were painful for several days.

経験豊富なガイドさんに連れられ公園/森の中を歩く中、映えスポットで写真撮影をしてくださったり、スノーエンジェルをつくったり。旭山記念公園にいる動物、木々や植物について教えて頂き大変勉強にもなりました。運良く可愛らしいキタキツネの足跡を見つけたり、シマエナガにも会えました！札幌の市街地からすぐの場所でこんなに素敵なアウトドア体験ができると思いませんでした。

当日はホテルへの送迎や、お願いをしておけばウェアやシューズも一式借りることができ大変便利でした。パートナー用に靴は３０cm、XLの大きいサイズでも借りることができました！

アドバイス：
・白銀の世界の中、天気が非常によく、持参していたサングラスがとても役に立った。
・寒がりなので厚着をしてしまい、失敗。レンタルは上下温かいアウターを用意してくださる＋運動量も多いので、当日の気温にもよると思うが出発前、車の中での着替えの際に脱ぎ着・調整しやすいものを着ておくと良いかもしれない。出発してしまうとインナーを脱ぐのは難しい。
・もう一つの反省は、唇にも日焼け止めかリップを塗っておくべきだったこと。唇だけ日焼けをしてしまい数日間痛かったです。

We were blessed with great weather and enjoyed the pure white snow! Although we are not very active, we were amazed and thrilled by the snow, walking a lot to take photos and videos, observing the birds, and packing our time with fun activities. There was a small miscommunication in the beginning where Veltra told us the wrong pickup location. After 40 minutes, we finally find out the right pick up location from our tour guide Masa and he was still waiting for us.

We headed out for a ~4km hike around Nopporo Forst Park. It took us about 2 hours and in between we stopped to have some hot coffee. Masa was extremely helpful explaining our surroundings. He was also giving us suggestions of where to eat and what to do in Sapporo. Overall the hike was a great getaway from the busy city and what made it even better is our tour guide Masa from Sapporo Active Navigation.

This time, we hiked up a small hill with snowshoes, had lunch, enjoyed a hot spring, ate soft serve ice cream, and were taken directly to New Chitose Airport.

The outside temperature was around -6°C, but I didn't feel cold at all; in fact, it was so comfortable that I was even sweating a bit.

We climbed the hill for about an hour while watching the sheep and horses at the entrance of the ranch. When we reached the top, we dug into the snow to create a table and chairs, and took a break with hot tea brewed by our guide. Along the way, the guide took photos at Instagram-worthy spots, and after the tour, I received those photos instantly via AirDrop on my iPhone (of course, for free).

The lunch was also very delicious, and the Nagunuma Onsen was quite a large bathhouse with a pleasant outdoor bath.

I'm glad I participated. If I have the opportunity to go to Sapporo again, I would like to join tours organized by this company, not just snowshoeing. I heard they also have bicycle tours in the summer, so I would love to try that if I get the chance.

今回は小高い丘をスノーシューでハイクし、ランチを食べ、温泉に入り、ソフトクリームを食べ、そのまま新千歳空港に送ってもらうという内容でした。

外気温-6℃ほどでしたが、寒さは全く感じず、むしろ汗ばむくらいで快適でした。

牧場の入り口にいる羊や馬を見ながら小一時間ほど丘を登っていき、頂上に着いたら、雪を掘ってテーブルとイスを自作し、ガイドさんの淹れてくれる熱い紅茶で休憩しました。道中、SNS映えする撮影スポットでガイドさんが写真を撮ってくれ、ツアー後、その写真をiPhoneのAirDropですぐに貰えます（もちろん無料）。

ランチもとても美味しく、ながぬま温泉も結構大きな湯屋で露天風呂が気持ち良かったです。

I walked on snowshoes for the first time. It was a lot of fun exploring the forest while crunching through the snow, and I had encounters with my favorite birds. Although I didn't see the Eurasian Eagle-Owl or the Black Woodpecker, I was able to see the Japanese Green Woodpecker for the first time. I was comforted by warm chai in the cold snow, and I created wonderful memories, including attempting to make snow angels. I would love to participate again if I have the chance.

Very refreshing walk in the country side

The 3.6km walk was very refreshing in crispy clean air inside a forest park. Hiro San made it more enjoyable by providing interesting information and small exercises along the way. He took good care of us, especially we had little experience in cold weather and zero experience with snow shoes. It was a pity we didn’t see the owl this day, but this is wildlife and one cannot expect 100% outcome. The walk itself was well worth it.

It was my first experience with snowshoeing! At first, I thought it might be difficult to walk, but I quickly got used to it, and walking on the fluffy snow was so much fun. Thank you for sharing so many interesting stories about animals and nature. The couple who guided us were also very kind! (I’m not sure if I can mention their names, so I’ll keep it private, haha.) Hiro- san was a wonderful guide, from the moment he picked us up from our hotel. He brought us on a scenic snowshoe walk around Nopporo Forest Park, where we spotted an Ezo owl and several animal tracks and a squirrel too. Keeping it fun with some stops for photos, and hot coffee on a table made of snow, we definitely had no regrets taking up this trip!

This tour was great. We had missed in the description that this was a japanese speaking tour....but alas our guide spoke enough english (shame on us for knowing very little japanese) to get us by! It was a nice experience and we came away with some great pictures!

This time, I was taken to Nopporo. The early morning scenery was very beautiful, and I was able to see many Ezo squirrels and Japanese woodpeckers, which was refreshing. It was my first time snowshoeing, but I enjoyed the 3.8 km distance. It was very cold, and the freshly brewed chai was delicious. I was grateful to be able to borrow winter clothing (top and bottom, hat, gloves), but it would have been nice to have foot warmers. There were other groups as well, and we spent about 5 hours there. I was dropped off at Sapporo Station on the way back. I would like to participate again.

今回は野幌に連れて行って頂きました。
早朝の景色はとてもきれいで、エゾリスやアカゲラなども多く見ることができリフレッシュできました。
スノーシューは初めてでしたが、3.8kmの距離も楽しめました。とても寒く、淹れたてのチャイがとても美味しかったです。
防寒着（上下、帽子、手袋）を借りることができたので助かりましたが、靴用カイロがあればよかったかも。
他のグループもいて約5時間、帰りは札幌駅で降ろして頂きました。
また参加したいです。

We are so lucky to have Masa San as our half day tour leader. He is super friendly, helpful and speaks good English. Masa San came to our hotel to pick us and prepared warm clothing (we reserved in advance) boots for us. Its about 15-20 minutes drive from Susukino to the forest.

We suggest those who wanna join the tour to take as less as you can for the backpack. All you need is your camera and water cuz it’s easy to get thirsty during walking on the snow, it’s hard to get bored, you can play with snow and animals (small birds) around.

Masa is not only good in English but also professional in photographing. He helped us to take so many beautiful and gorgeous photos and he cared if we felt too tired during the tour.

It’s not that difficult for snow hiking but everyone should know how far he/she can get. If you feel tired during the tour, please do not hesitate to tell your leader, I think they will be very willing to assist and adjust.

This is my very first time to join a tour with Veltra, they are a awesome team! They replied my questions quickly and friendly. I feel grateful and lucky to join this tour. It’s definitely a highly recommended tour.

I felt great being surrounded by nature; it truly felt revitalizing. It was interesting to hear various stories amidst Hokkaido's great outdoors. The coffee break along the way was delightful, and it made me realize that I need a bit more leisure in my life. I would also like to participate in cycling and other activities in the summer.

I participated in a 2-night, 3-day trip to Sapporo in late January 2017.

I couldn't make it to the Snowshoeing at Heidi Farm, so I switched to the Snowshoeing in the Forest of the Ezo Owl.

The location was a natural park called "Showa no Mori Noboribetsu Nature Reserve," which was about a one-hour drive from hotels in Sapporo.

It was my first time snowshoeing, but I got used to it quickly. Walking on the fluffy snow was a very enjoyable experience.

The outside temperature was around -10°C, but I didn't feel cold at all; in fact, I was quite comfortable and even a bit sweaty.

I couldn't find the Ezo Owl, but there were many cute little birds like woodpeckers and possibly a Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker.

We dug into the snow to make a table and chairs, and took a break with hot tea brewed by our guide. It was touching when a little bird came and perched on my hand while I was eating chocolate during the break.

The guide's stories were very interesting throughout the tour. Even in the car during the pick-up, I learned about local stories from Hokkaido and Sapporo, which made the rest of my trip in Sapporo much more enjoyable.

When I mentioned that I wanted to go to the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market instead of the hotel on the way back, they kindly took me there.

Also, I was happy to receive the photos taken by the guide via AirDrop on my iPhone right before we parted ways (of course, for free).

I'm glad I participated. If I have the chance to go to Sapporo again, I would like to join tours organized by this company, not just snowshoeing.

場所は、「昭和の森野幌自然休養林」と言う自然公園で、
札幌市内のホテルから車で1時間弱の所にありました。

はじめてのスノーシューでしたが、すぐに慣れました。
ふわっふわの雪の上を歩くのはとても楽しい体験でした。

外気温-10℃ほどでしたが、寒さは全く感じず、むしろ汗ばむくらいで快適でした。

エゾフクロウは見つけられませんでしたが、
キツツキやアカゲラ？など可愛い小鳥が沢山いました。

雪を掘ってテーブルとイスを自作し、ガイドさんの淹れてくれる熱い紅茶で休憩しました。
休憩中にチョコを食べていると小鳥がやってきて手に止まったのが感動的でした。

終始ガイドさんの話がとても面白かったです。
送迎の車内でも、北海道や札幌の地元話などを教えて頂き、
その後の札幌旅行がとても楽しくなりました。

帰りはホテルではなく札幌中央卸売場外市場に行きたいと伝えたところ、
快くそこまで送って頂きました。

また、別れ際にガイドさんが撮影した写真を
iPhoneのAirDropですぐに貰えたのも嬉しかったです（もちろん無料）。

参加して良かったです。
また札幌に行く機会があれば、スノーシューに限らず
この催行会社主催のツアーに参加したいと思いました。
