Half Day Snowshoe Walk and Ezo Owl Watching Tour from Sapporo


Set off into a snowy forest where fluffy Ezo owls live. Listen for the drumming sound of woodpeckers, find footprints of small animals, and take a coffee break with a table and chairs of snow.

  • 10:00 Ezo Owl Watching Snowshoe Tour
    IMG_2511 Keep an eye out for the cute and puffy Ezo owls as you walk over drifts of snow with an experienced guide. You will spot many footprints of rabbits and foxes. If you're lucky, you may even see one rummaging through the snow.
  • Snow Cafe
    4 Build your own snow cafe by making chairs and tables out of snow! After completing, warm up with a cup of warm coffee.
  • 12:30 Activity Ends
  • 13:30 Drop-off at Select Hotels in Central Sapporo
    • This tour is for people 145 cm or taller.
    • People 15 years old or under should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Required Items to Bring & Attire
    • Please be sure to protect against cold, for you will stay outdoors for a long period of time.
      It is advised to bring a warm cap, goggles, gloves, synthetic fiber inner layers (not cotton), wool or fleece to wear in the middle (for upper and bottoms), and waterproof moisture permeable warm outer wear (upper and bottoms), and high-cut shoes to put on with snowshoes.
    • Please bring something to drink. It is also recommended that you bring something sweet like chocolate or candy as an energy booster.
Additional Note(s)
    • There will be cases where the guide may take a shorter course depending on the weather. In case of bad weather, the guide will decide whether to carry out the tour or not after talking with you. The operating company will not charge a cancellation fee if the tour is cancelled due to bad weather.
    • This tour is operated with all participants enrolled in accident insurance for domestic travel with Sompo Japan. Please input your name, address, contact phone number, and date of birth at the time of reservation.
    • Please abide by the instructions of the guide to enjoy the tour safely.
    • This tour is operated in Japanese only.
