I was looking for activities that I could do with my dog, and I found this canoe tour. Since my dog is a senior, I was a bit worried, but in the end, we were able to complete the tour without any issues. The meeting place was easy to find, and I arrived without getting lost. There are no restrooms nearby, so I recommend using the restroom before joining the tour.

Before getting on the canoe, we took some photos and received thorough explanations before setting off. We were fortunate with the weather; usually, there are headwinds, but we had a tailwind during our trip, and the guide mentioned we were lucky. カヌーに乗る前に、写真を撮っていただき、丁寧な説明を受けて出発しました。天候に恵まれ、普段なら向かい風が多いようですが、ちょうど私たちのときは追い風で、ガイドさんにラッキーだねと言われました。近くで白鳥の親子や、カワセミを見ることが出来てとても貴重な経験でした。
初めてカヌーに乗りましたが、とても楽しかったのでまた乗りたいです！

When it comes to canoeing, I had the image of navigating through rapid waters, which made me anxious as someone with a fear of heights... However, it turned out to be a very beginner-friendly course and I had a great time!

It was a last-minute decision to join the canoe tour, but the dress code was casual and there was no need for any special equipment, making it easy to participate.

The course leisurely progressed through the center of Jozankei, and combined with the beautiful weather that day, the scenery was stunning! There were no intense rapids to worry about, and the course was gentle enough that we could enjoy the views while paddling back along the same route.

Canoeing can be quite challenging for beginners, so couples should be careful to avoid arguments (it seems that fights often break out, haha).

During the course, we also had time to get out of the canoe and play in the river, which would be great for kids to enjoy as long as time allows. The instructor was very nice. Thank you!

I wanted to include an activity in my trip, and choosing the canoe tour was definitely the right decision!!! I was able to enjoy both the scenery and exercise at the same time, and it was a wonderful experience. I think the views would be even more spectacular during the autumn foliage season, so I definitely want to aim for that time and participate again! ^ ^

実際はとっても初心者向けのコースで楽しかったです！

急遽決めたカヌーツアーだったのですが、服装も自由で持ち物も特に必要なく、気軽に参加できました。

定山渓の真ん中をのんびり進むコースで、当日の快晴も相まって、絶景でした！
気掛かりだった激しい流れなどなく、来た道（川）を戻っていくくらいの穏やかなコースで、景色を十分楽しむことができました。

初心者にはカヌーの操縦がなかなか難しいので、カップルや夫婦の方は喧嘩にならないように注意です。（よく喧嘩が勃発するみたいです笑）

コースの途中で、カヌーを降りて川で遊ぶ時間も作っていただいて、子供がいたら（時間の許す限り）満足するまで遊ばせてもらえます。
インストラクターの方がとっても良い方でした。

旅行にアクティビティを入れたいなと思い、カヌーツアーを選択して大正解でした!!!
景色と運動を同時に楽しむことができて、とても良い時間でした。

The meeting place is easy to find if you enter from National Route 36 and head towards Log House Hibi. If you go a little further along the road by the river across from it, you'll find a spot with boats.

After a brief explanation, since it was my first time, I had the guide accompany me to start. It seems that two people can go together, but in the end, it was a good decision to have the guide with us.

In the first half, we progressed along a wide river. The banks were lush with reeds, and the river surface was beautifully adorned with blooming yellow flowers of the water lily. The sky was high, and I felt a great sense of openness.

In the second half, the river narrowed significantly, and trees leaned in from both banks, creating a green tunnel as we moved along. It felt like we might collide with the shore if the guide hadn't been with us. We saw a heron flying and followed a kingfisher as we continued. It was very quiet, with only the sounds of birds. Since there were three of us paddling, we reached the endpoint in less than two hours. From there, we took a car through the forest back to the meeting place. The bumpy road added some thrill.

The guide was from Nepal, and it was enjoyable to hear not only about the river but also stories about Nepal. There were some troubles with the reservation, and the staff at Veltra worked hard to resolve them, but thanks to them, we were able to finish the tour in good spirits.

The parking lot at the meeting place only has a simple toilet, so it's better to take care of that beforehand, and be cautious of sunburn as there is no shade for the first 30 minutes.

前半は広々した川を進みます。両岸に葦が茂り、川面には満開のコウホネの黄色い花がきれいでした。空が高く、解放感いっぱいでした。
後半は川幅がぐっと狭くなり、両岸からは木々がせり出し、緑のトンネルの中を進んでいきました。ガイドさんが同乗していなかったら岸に衝突しそうな感じでした。アオサギが飛び、カワセミに先導されるように進んでいきました。とても静かで聞こえてくるのは鳥の声くらい。３人で漕いだので、２時間かからずに終点に到着しました。そこから迎えの車で森の中を走り、集合場所に帰ってきました。でこぼこ道でスリルがありましたよ。
ガイドさんはネパールの方で、川の説明のほかにもネパールの話も聞けて楽しかったです。
予約のトラブルでベルトラさんにはご苦労いただきましたが、おかげ様で気分良くツアーを終えることができました。
集合場所の駐車場には簡易トイレしかないので、トイレは事前に済ませておいたほうがよいのと、前半３０分は日陰がないので日焼けに注意が必要です。

I went rafting in June.
Since it was just the two of us, we had the whole place to ourselves and could relax.
You should wear sneakers because you have to walk down the mountain slope to get to the boat.
There are ropes, but it was slippery going down, which was a bit scary.
The weather was sunny during the rafting, and the scenery was amazing!
Since it was just the two of us, we were able to borrow waterproof suits and shoes, so our clothes stayed mostly dry.
The guide was also really funny!
I want to go again in the fall.

I experienced rafting in mid-October, and while I thought it wouldn't be too intense since it was October, we ended up just floating on the boat without getting a single drop of water on us. I was really looking forward to it, so I was truly disappointed.

However, since we were just floating, I was able to take a few pictures of the autumn leaves, so that was a plus. Still, I think 5,000 yen is too expensive for this experience. I believe they should provide a proper explanation or lower the price a bit during times when the rapids aren't strong.

Around 9:00, the staff arrived and kindly confirmed the participants and gave instructions for changing clothes. There might be a misunderstanding between the booking site, Veltra, and the Blue Marble staff, so I hope that can be improved.

[Preparation] We moved to the preparation area in our cars. There, we borrowed and put on life jackets, helmets, and shoes. We received a thorough lecture on how to use the paddles. We moved our cars to the finish point, then returned with the staff's vehicle to the starting point.

[Travel] We loaded the boat onto a wheeled cart and moved through the bushes for about five minutes. Along the way, there was an adventure where we had to grab a rope to descend a steep cliff, which delighted the kids while the dads stumbled. The starting point had a gentle river flow, and we practiced paddling and turning before starting the rafting.

[Fun] With low water levels, we floated down the river while enjoying the staff's fun talk. At one point, we charged into a waterfall with a hot spring, repeating it five times upon request. After that, we arrived at the dive point, where we jumped into the river from rocks about 2m and 10m high. Even the 2m jump was quite scary. 【移動】ボートを車輪付きの台に乗せ、５分ほど藪の間を移動。途中、急な崖を張られたロープを掴んで降りるアドベンチャーもあり、子供は喜び、親父は転ぶ。スタート地点は川の流れが穏やかで、乗り込んでパドルの漕ぎ方や転回などを練習し、ラフティングスタート。
【遊ぶ】水量が少なく、穏やかに川を下りながら、スタッフさんの楽しいトークとともに進む。途中、温泉を被る滝に突っ込み、希望もあり５回繰り返す。その後、ダイブポイントに到着。２mと１０m位の岩の上から川ダイブ。２mでも結構怖かったです。好きなだけ跳ばせてもらい、程なくゴール地点。ゴールしたら、スタッフさんが岸辺に着替えテントを張ってくれました。精算と写真の購入などを終えて工程終了。正午より前に終わったので、実質１時間位のラフティングでした。とても楽しかったです。
【写真】カメラマンさんが撮った写真をＤＶＤに焼いてくれたものを販売してくれたので購入。帰宅後見てみると、川の地形などもあるのでしょうが、カメラと被写体が遠くて表情ははっきりしませんでした。ボートに同乗してくれるという書き込みもあったので、少し残念。
【その他】ベルトラ さんのサイトには集合場所と解散場所がスキー場とありますが、解散場所はゴール地点でした。集合時に説明してもらったので困ることは何もありませんでしたが、申し込む側としては、初めてで不安だらけなので、正しい情報を載せてほしいなぁと思いました。

I participated with my 8-year-old son. It was wonderful to connect with nature by jumping into the beautiful river. We also took a lot of photos, which made for great memories.

However, there were a couple of things that concerned me. The meeting point was hard to find, and when the time came, the person in charge did not show up, which made me a bit anxious. The dress code mentioned long sleeves and long pants, but in reality, shorts and swimsuits were also acceptable, and I would appreciate more accurate announcements regarding this.

One of the children on the tour got injured and seemed to struggle a bit when jumping into the river, crying a lot... I wondered about the safety measures in place.

This was my third time rafting, so I was familiar with it and had a great time, but I hope that for those coming from Honshu and beginners, the experience can be enjoyable as well. I would like to see a more customer-oriented approach and ensure complete safety, so that everyone feels they want to participate again. I am sharing this feedback because the staff were wonderful.

私はラフティング自体3回目で慣れていることもあり存分に楽しめたのですが、本州から来た方や初心者にも心から楽しんでいただけるよう、もっと顧客目線で、そして万全の安全性を確保し、誰もがまた参加したい、と思えるツアーになってほしいな…すてきな担当者様だったのであえてコメントさせていただきます。

I have been to Jozankei in winter. Summer is nice too. The greenery is beautiful. The river is lovely. The Jozankei View Hotel is great. The guide was very kind. I recommend it. Since I was alone, I was able to switch to canoeing.

Jim-san & Masahiko-san gave my mom and a memorable smelt Fishing experience! They kindly fetched us at an agreed time, took great care of our wellbeing and safety throughout the day. Thought us with patience, helping us to set up the fishing line and guiding us with smelt fishing technique. They made sure my mom caught some smelt too to complete her experience. Jam-San & Masahiko-san are very caring guides. Jim-san & Masahiko-san are very well equipped!We were very surprise with the different tools used during our smelt Fishing tour!

We participated in mid-September, about ten days after the earthquake. The water was a bit cold, but surrounded by the nature of the Toyohira River, the air was fresh and the water was clear, which felt great. There were rapids and calm spots! Cliffs! Waterfalls! ... Since it was a meet-up event, I left Sapporo city with a bit of extra time, but I got caught in a huge traffic jam just before reaching the destination and ended up being late. I apologize for making the staff and other participants wait. I heard there was a lot of traffic due to construction... I regret that.

The rafting was very thrilling until we got on the boat. It's natural, but I would have appreciated a more stable footing. I felt like I used up my energy before the rafting. I thought the river's water level might not be very high, but the water temperature was incredibly cold. They offered free shoe rentals, so I thought it might have been a good idea to borrow some. Along the way, those who wanted to could jump from the rocks into the river, which was exciting. I can't write too much, but even if you don't jump, you'll get wet. ラフティングは、ボートに乗るまでがとてもスリリングでした。自然だから仕方ないけど、もう少し足場が安定していると嬉しいです。体力をラフティング前に使ってしまった感じです。川の水量は多くないかな？と思いましたが、水温が半端ない冷たさでした。靴を無料で貸してくださるので借りても良かったかもと思いました。途中、希望者は岩から川へ飛び込むことも出来、盛り上がりました。多くは書けませんが、飛び込まなくても濡れます。水着でも良かったかなぁと思います。あっと言う間の時間でしたが、札幌近郊の自然を満喫したいい経験になりました。濡れるアクティビティのため、写真が撮れなくて残念！

The guide was friendly and talked to us, and there were a few points where we got completely soaked, which was a lot of fun. During the Obon holiday in August, I decided to travel to Hokkaido with my husband. Since it was my third time in Sapporo, I felt that just visiting the usual tourist spots wouldn't be enough, so I joined this tour.

I participated on June 4th. Thanks to the snowmelt typical for this time of year, along with the heavy rain the day before and light rain on the day itself, the water level was quite high, allowing for some wild rafting fun. The Toyohira River is close to Sapporo, and our tour guide was a local pro. Even though we were a group of four older gentlemen, we had a great time despite the rain. Afterward, we visited the nearby Jozankei Onsen area, which was perfect for warming up our chilled bodies. I highly recommend it!

6月4日に参加しました。この時期ならではの雪解け水と、前日の大雨と当日の小雨で水かさ増し増し状態で、ワイルドなラフティングが楽しめました。豊平川は札幌からも近く、ツアーガイドさんも地元育ちのプロで、オジさん4人組でしたが、雨でも充分に楽しむことができました。終了後は近くに定山渓温泉街があり、冷えた体を温めるのに最高でした。おすすめです。

Junjiro and Jin were our tour guides. They were very friendly and they set everything up for you! Prompt pick up, and they drop you off too. They also drive you to a small but great mom and pop restaurant where they tempura fry the wakasagi fish that you catch. Highly recommended!!!

Thank you for accommodating me despite being the only participant on the day. Although we couldn't do the 8-person rafting, you kindly switched it to SUP. At one point, while I was mesmerized by a duck swimming, I bumped into some rocks and fell into the river. Even that was a valuable and fun experience! During a break on the sandbank, I spent time looking for rare stones and listening to various stories about the Jozankei area. I had planned to go to a hot spring on the way back, but since the bus schedule didn't match, I was wondering what to do. You graciously offered to take me to Toyohira Kyo Onsen, which was really helpful! If I have another chance, I would love to experience rafting during the spring thaw!

途中、中洲で休憩の時も珍しい石を探して定山渓辺りの色んな話を聞きながら過ごしました。
帰りは温泉に行く予定をしてたけれどバスの時間が合わなくて、どうしよう？と思ってたら豊平峡温泉まで快く送ってくださり本当に助かりました！
またチャンスがあれば春の雪解けの時にラフティング体験してみたいです！

At that time, a female college student among the participants spoke to a local fisherman who was heading home, and he said, "It's a day when you won't catch anything, so there are fewer fish." I thought that if there were few local fishermen, it might be tough for amateurs, but that person kindly shared some wakasagi with us. Although it was relying on others, I ended up being able to eat wakasagi for lunch. The set meal at the cafeteria was also delicious and reasonably priced. During the second attempt after lunch, we managed to catch one fish each. The results weren't great, but it was fun.

他力本願ですがお昼にワカサギを食べれる事になりました。食堂の定食も美味しくてリーズナブルです。
食後の再チャレンジで何とか1人一匹づつ釣れました。

The weather was nice, making it even more stunning. The current was more challenging than it looked, and I had a valuable experience being swept away easily. Jumping into the deep water from a rock nearly 10 meters high was thrilling and fun. Water got into my nose and ears, but I didn't mind and just enjoyed myself. It was more thrilling and enjoyable than rafting, so I want to go again.
