I joined thinking it would just be a relaxing boat ride while enjoying the scenery, and I was looking forward to eating oden at the end! However, there were three boatmen who provided explanations and stories throughout the trip✨ Since I was at the very front, I was able to engage in conversation and had an amazing time‼️ More than anything, the explanations were great, but the jokes and banter made it incredibly entertaining. It rained, but I think that added a unique touch to the experience, making it a memorable one in a different way‼️ I will definitely go again.
ただ船に乗って揺られながら景色をみて、最後におでんとか食べるのが楽しみなやつ！と思い込んで参加しました。が、船頭さん３人居て終始説明やお話をしてくれました✨1番前だったのもあって、会話も出来てものすごく楽しめました‼️なにより、説明もそうだけど、冗談やツッコミもあって最高に面白かったです雨だったけど、それもなかなか味わえないかと思うので違った形で思い出になりました‼️また絶対行きます

I had previously taken the trolley train, but due to my travel schedule, I couldn't board the Hozu River boat ride. This time, I managed to join the schedule mainly focused on the Hozu River descent. I have experienced rafting and various river descents, but this time the water level on the Hozu River was the lowest of the year, allowing for a leisurely boat trip to Togetsukyo Bridge.
I boarded from the second seat on the right side, and unexpectedly, I was splashed by waves, leaving my lower body completely soaked. However, that became a wonderful memory of the trip. 以前よりトロッコ列車に乗車はしておりましたが、旅行日程の都合で保津川下りには乗船することが出来ず、今回保津川下りメインのスケジュールで何とか乗船することができました
ラフティングやあらゆる川下りを体験して来ましたが、保津川の川下りは今回水量が今年一番の少なさということで、渡月橋までのんびりとした船旅を満喫出来ました
私の乗船した場所は前から2番目の右側で途中思いもやらぬ波の洗礼を受け右下半身ずぶ濡れになりましたが、それも旅の良い思い出となりました
次回は水量の多い日に是非乗船したいと思います。

I was recommended by a friend to definitely experience the Hozu River Boat Ride if I came to Kyoto during this season, so I made a reservation. My reservation was for 11:00, but when I arrived at the boarding area at 9:45, I received number 42 and was called right away, so I was on the boat by 10:00! I think there were more than 20 people on each boat. The boatman kept us entertained with humorous stories throughout the approximately two-hour ride, and we were laughing the whole time. It was the beginning of the autumn leaves, and the contrast of the green and yellow leaves below with the red leaves above was very beautiful. One highlight was when the boatman walked along the edge of the boat to switch places, and it was just perfect timing when the vendor boat came alongside selling beer and sweet sake. I was lucky to be able to make a reservation through Veltra for an early autumn leaf viewing on the Hozu River, as there were no direct reservations available. If I had gone directly, I would have had to wait 1 hour and 50 minutes on a weekday. I arrived earlier than my reserved time, but the check-in process was smooth, and after using the restroom, I was guided right away to depart.
The boatman was youthful and shared enjoyable stories, making the experience even more delightful as we admired the mountains and various rock formations. It was a peaceful experience where I could really feel the nature around me. I would love to go on the boat again.
少し早い紅葉狩りに保津川下り直接の予約はなく、ベルトラさんで予約可能だったのでラッキーでした。
直接だと平日でしたが1時間50分待ちの案内が出てました。予約時間よりも早く着いたのですが受付もスムーズでトイレだけ済ませたらすぐに案内され出発できました。
遠い記憶で乗船した時よりも、船頭さんも若々しく楽しいお話し案内してくださり、山々やいろんな岩の形状を楽しく観賞出来来ました。

8年前に保津川下りした際にとても楽しかった記憶で、今回日帰り弾丸ツアーに組み込んでみました。前回も今ぐらいの時期でとても寒かった記憶なので防寒していきましたが、天気も快晴で、川の流れも穏やかで、とても心地よく、むしろ暑いぐらいでした！3人の船頭さんが交代で立ち位置変えて漕いでくれるのですが、各々に面白い喋りやパフォーマンスを交えてくれ、二時間飽きずに楽しめます。この時期はまだ紅葉がほんの少しだけ彩っている感じで、水の透明度と緑と青空が最高にリフレッシュ出来ましたが、紅葉の時期も桜の時期もまた来たいなと思いました。

The autumn foliage on the Hozu River was still early, but the trip lasted nearly two hours, and I really enjoyed immersing myself in nature. The water was clear enough to see the riverbed. There were both gentle and rapid sections of the river, with some areas where splashes of water would hit you. It’s advisable to use the seat next to the boat to prevent getting wet.

I really enjoyed my first river rafting experience. The distance was long, which made it very satisfying. I was really glad that the weather was nice. It seems like it would be tough in the cold season. I think having a large shawl would be good to drape over your shoulders or lap. The seating was quite close together, so it felt a bit cramped. Since there were several children with us, the boatman engaged them in conversation to keep them entertained, which was nice. In the latter half, some kids looked sleepy, and with the long distance, they might get bored.
The boatman was humorous and fun, but I would also like to hear explanations in a more calm atmosphere, not just focused on the kids. Next time, it would be great to experience it with more water flow for an even more thrilling experience.

船頭さんはユーモアがあり楽しかったけど、子供メインではなく落ち着いた雰囲気での説明も聞いてみたいです。

During the waiting time, I went to the restroom and looked at celebrity autographs, and before I knew it, the broadcast started, and we boarded the boat. I live in Kyoto, but I had never toured the sightseeing spots, so I used this service at the beginning of October! It was sunny and almost hot! Since you go down with the wind, I think you'll need warm clothing and a hand warmer as it gets colder. Before departing, I bought a hot dog at the shop inside the building, and it was filling and delicious. You should definitely get one!

I was so excited to see the whale shark up close! Its white polka dots and round eyes were adorable! They brought us so close that it felt like we could be sucked into its big mouth, and I had a great time seeing all the fish swimming alongside it!
The instructors were very cheerful, chatting with each other and with us, allowing us to experience the lively atmosphere of Okinawa.
They observed how we used the tanks and our swimming in the water, allowing us to swim freely and have fun! For those who were nervous, they guided us by holding our hands until the end, so I think even those who are not good at swimming can feel at ease!

Since it was still early in the season and there were no autumn leaves yet, we were able to enjoy a nearly private experience on the houseboat on the river! Despite the early morning, a water convenience store came by, and since we hadn't prepared any food, we were able to enjoy a moment of luxury. I printed the voucher at home and brought it with me on the day of the reservation. I arrived by car around 11:30 for my 12:00 reservation. Parking is free.
I submitted the voucher at the reception on the second floor and filled out a separate sheet with my address and name. At that time, I received a reception number and sat on a bench in the back. When my number was called, I boarded the boat in order.
In August, the sunlight was strong, but I appreciated that the boat had a green roof. (This might reduce the feeling of openness a bit.)
The boatmen's talks were entertaining, and the river ride itself was enjoyable. Since it was summer, I think it would have been even better if we could have gotten a bit wetter or had more thrills.
On the way back, I walked around Arashiyama and took the train home. (Since trains are infrequent, it might be good to check the schedule in advance.) Overall, it became a great memory!
予約時のバウチャーを自宅で印刷し、当日持参しました。12時予約で11時半ごろ車で到着です。駐車場は無料です。
改めてバウチャーを2階受付で提出し、別紙に住所や氏名等を記載しました。その際受付番号をもらい奥のベンチに座っていると、受付番号が呼ばれてその順に舟に乗る…という感じです。
8月で日差しが強かったですが、舟には緑色の屋根を付けて下さり助かりました。（その分解放感は薄れるかもしれません）
船頭さんたちのトークは面白く、川下り自体も楽しかったです。夏だったのでもう少し水に濡れたり、スリルがあると一層良かったと思います。
帰りは嵐山を歩き、電車で帰りました。

Due to increased water levels, the activity was suspended until the day before, but after it resumed, the river rafting was more intense than I expected, and I enjoyed it several times more! I arrived about 30 minutes before my reservation and checked in, and I was able to depart right away with a group. If you need time to go to the restroom or buy drinks, I think it's better to do that before checking in so you don't feel rushed.
It was enjoyable to listen to the explanations while watching the boatman row diligently and steer with the pole. I'm glad I could safely connect with nature while going down the river.
