I could only stay in Kyoto for about five hours, but I was able to drink matcha, eat udon, and visit about four sightseeing spots! Despite the heat, I was able to use my time effectively without wandering around aimlessly. The driver also provided explanations for each location, which made me very satisfied! My child was in my arms the whole time, but we were able to rest each time we returned to the taxi, so I managed to keep my energy up. I would love to do this again!
京都には５時間ほどしか滞在できなかったのですが、抹茶も飲んで、うどんも食べて、４箇所程観光もできました!暑い中右往左往しることなく、滞在時間を有効的に使えました。
運転手さんがそれぞれの場所の説明もしてくださり、大満足でした!子供がずっと抱っこでしたが、タクシーに戻って毎度休めてたのでなんとか体力が持ちました。

I requested a 6-hour tour for a family of five. From the initial consultation about the course, they were very kind and attentive, and I received a confirmation call about the pickup time the day before, which made me feel at ease for the day of the tour. The driver also offered to guide us in English, and his wonderful personality made it a tour that everyone truly enjoyed. Thank you very much.
We departed at 8:30 AM, took a break for lunch, and visited a total of five places, ending at Kiyomizu-dera where we were dropped off. Although we went over time, the extra charges were reasonable, which was really helpful. I will definitely use this service again.

The places I visited were Yasaka Shrine, Nishiki Market, Kitano Tenmangu, Toei Kyoto Studio Park, and Kiyomizu Temple.

As my parents are getting older, walking for long periods has become increasingly difficult, so we were anxious about moving around by bus or train. Therefore, we requested a six-hour sightseeing taxi with a free plan.
The person in charge on the day was a man named Kumagai. Since it was a free plan, we met at Kyoto Station and visited Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu Temple, Yasaka Shrine, and Shimogamo Shrine, and were dropped off at Shijo Kawaramachi.
Kumagai was very kind and considerate, thinking of places for my tired parents to rest on the slopes of Kiyomizu Temple. When my children wanted to walk and explore, he took my parents in the car and did a city tour for about an hour, responding flexibly to our needs. My parents were very happy to be treated so kindly, especially since it was raining that day, making walking difficult.
It was tough to visit all the places my children wanted to go with my parents, but thanks to Kumagai's support, my children were able to visit the places they wanted, and we were very glad we requested the sightseeing taxi. Thank you very much!

当日担当してくれたのは熊谷さんという男性の方でした。フリープランだったので、京都駅で待ち合わせ、伏見稲荷から清水寺・八坂神社・下鴨神社などを回り、四条河原町で降ろしていただきました。
清水寺の坂道で疲れてしまった両親に、休憩できる場所を考えてくれたり、子どもが歩いて散策を希望した時は、両親を車に乗せて１時間ほど市内観光をしていてくれて、臨機応変に対応して下さりとても親切にしていただきました。
当日雨が降っていたので歩くのも大変だったこともあり、両親もとても親切にしてもらって良かったと喜んでいました。
両親を連れて子供の行きたかった場所を全て回るのは厳しかったので、熊谷さんの対応のおかげで行きたいところを回ることができた子供も喜んでいましたし、今回こちらで観光タクシーをお願いして良かったです。本当にありがとうございました！
また、当日までに確認のご連絡を２回いただき、京都の混雑状況なども踏まえた提案をしてくださったりと、会社の方もとても丁寧な対応をして下さいました。全体的にとても満足でした！

Despite the unfortunate weather that seemed like it might rain, I decided to go ahead and use the service, and I had a wonderful time that exceeded my expectations. Even though I arrived earlier than my reservation time, they attended to me right away.
On the boat, the guide shared various stories about the scenery and Kyoto, and even took photos for us. Additionally, a boat shop came alongside, allowing us to buy oden, dango, beer, and more, which made for a fun time filled with eating, drinking, laughing, and even feeding the ducks.
I was initially concerned about the duration being a private charter, but it truly flew by. I would love to try this again during the autumn foliage season.
雨が降りそうなあいにくのお天気で、キャンセルしようかと悩みながら利用させて貰ったのですが、とても楽しく思った以上に素敵な時間が過ごせました。

I visited Kyoto with an American acquaintance. Since it can be tiring to interpret the whole time, I requested a driver who is fluent in English. We chose the places we wanted to visit and consulted with him, who provided advice on the order of our itinerary. Although it was a bit early, the cherry blossom season coincided with a significant return of tourists, resulting in a crowded Kyoto. This trip was for my children's graduation trip and my father's 70th birthday celebration. At the time of booking, we had many desired locations and were exceeding the time limit, but the day before, I received a call offering an extension and they kindly accommodated changes to the pickup location.
We visited Arashiyama → Bamboo Grove → Kinkaku-ji → Seimei Shrine → Yasaka Shrine → Kiyomizu-dera.

I have visited Kyoto many times, but this time I used the service because my Australian husband was with me. They answered all of his questions, and I learned a lot about the history and culture myself, which was truly wonderful. At first, I didn't expect to be guided like a tour guide during our sightseeing, but even though I had been there before, having a guide made it even more enjoyable. Since it was a whirlwind trip for one night and two days, I requested a charter taxi to get around efficiently! It was a great decision☆ I thought the driver would just take me to places and wait, but he actually accompanied me and provided guidance at each stop. I learned a lot of things I didn't know and was able to experience sightseeing from a different perspective. I wanted to visit all the places on my list, so I added two hours on the day of the trip, and they were very accommodating. It might depend on the driver, but I'm really glad I used this service, and I am filled with gratitude towards the driver. It turned out to be a wonderful trip. I definitely want to request this again.

Consequently, the transportation network was congested as well. In some areas, cars were hardly moving, but thanks to the chartered sightseeing taxi, my requested tour of shrines and temples went smoothly and comfortably. The driver's good judgment ensured that the order of our visits was appropriate, and my wishes were fulfilled within the planned time, which made me very satisfied. Given that I have some difficulty walking, I was truly grateful for the minimal walking involved. I definitely want to use this service again on my next visit.

This time, I booked a private taxi tour for the first time with three foreigners I brought from Canada. I chose a six-hour course, but it was just enough time to visit four to five famous spots in Kyoto. If I were to make a reservation next time, I feel that around eight hours would be recommended, considering the lunch time as well.
As for the driver, he had studied English well and provided thoughtful explanations at key tourist spots, as well as engaging small talk during the drive, which was considerate for the foreigners. The three foreigners were satisfied after the tour.
I also appreciate how he helped with taking photos at various scenic spots. This was my first time booking with Yasaka, and I could feel the high level of training among the staff. The six-hour duration allowed us to enjoy the tour comfortably and safely, which was the best part. I would definitely like to request this again next time.

We had the best time with Taka San - we felt like we were great friends by the end of our day in Kyoto. He immersed us in Japanese customs and traditions and thoroughly explained the nuances of each temple and shrine. His local knowledge made our experience in Kyoto better than we could have ever imagined. He even found us a great ramen spot for lunch - he even pushed my grandma in a wheelchair up a steep slope so she could see the beautiful temple. He is truly one of a kind - and we will call him every time we visit Kyoto and the surrounding area. Thank you, Taka San, for an unforgettable experience. The driving tour and his knowledge were so amazing! Having him drive us around and explain everything in such detail was such a special experience! Could not recommend him more!!

I was taken on a tour of Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera for three hours starting at 6:30 AM. A few days prior, I received contact to confirm the details, and despite it being early in the morning, they kindly accommodated me without any additional charges. They guided us slowly to accommodate my mother, who has difficulty walking, and the stories along the way were very interesting! My whole family truly enjoyed it and we are all grateful to Mr. Kumagai. Thank you very much.

Since it was still early in the season and there were no autumn leaves yet, we were able to enjoy a nearly private experience on the houseboat on the river! Despite the early morning, a water convenience store came by, and since we hadn't prepared any food, we were able to enjoy a moment of luxury. The person who rowed the boat was also entertaining, and it felt like they were talking the whole time. It was an experience I would recommend to my friends.

The weather was suspicious from the start, and just before the cormorant fishing began, we were hit by heavy rain. Just when I was starting to give up hope that it would be canceled, the cormorant fishing started, and I was able to enjoy it after all.
I was worried that the fire sending ceremony wouldn't be able to take place after the heavy rain, but to my surprise, I was able to see the large "大" and "⛩" fires. By the time we disembarked, the rain had stopped, and I wished the timing had been better. Just then, the boatman instructed us to reboard, and we were able to enjoy the cormorant fishing once more.
It was heartwarming to see the effort from the cormorant fishermen and the boatman to ensure that participants had the best experience possible, despite the bad weather.
P.S. I got completely soaked from the initial downpour, comparable to waiting in line for an attraction at Universal Studios Japan, but some participants rated the experience highly, saying, "It was a valuable experience!" which lightened the mood. I recommend wearing clothes that can get wet. (You won't get wet if it doesn't rain.)
久しぶりの京都。屋形舟から見る鵜飼と五山送り火ツアーに参加しました。
乗船時から怪しい天気でしたが鵜飼が始まる前に大雨に。これは中止も仕方ないかと諦めかけた頃に鵜飼がスタート。なんとか鑑賞できました。
送り火も大雨の後で点火出来ないんじゃ無いかと心配してましたが思ったより大きく『大』と『⛩』の送り火が見れました。
下船する頃には雨が止み時間がズレてたら良かったのにと思っていたら、船頭さんから再乗船の指示が有りもう一度鵜飼鑑賞させて頂ける事になりました。
天候不良は鵜匠さんや船頭さんの不備じゃ無いのに参加者に最大限楽しんで貰おうという姿勢が嬉しかったです。
追伸:
最初の大雨でUSJのアトラクション並にずぶ濡れになりましたがツアー参加者から『貴重な体験が出来た！』と高評価の方が居て場が和みました。
濡れても良い服を推奨します。

I took a ride on a yakatabune (houseboat) on the Katsura River in Arashiyama. Although it was a shared ride, the wind was blowing outside, providing good ventilation, which made me feel safe. The boatman explained various things, and we had a great time on the boat for two hours. I knew that the Gozan Okuribi (Daimonji Fire Festival) was very famous, but seeing it from the river was wonderful. It's definitely a place where you can create great memories, whether it's for a date or with family.
嵐山にある桂川で屋形船に乗りました。相乗りですが、外で風も吹いているので換気もされていて、安心でした。
船頭さんもあれこれ説明してくれて楽しく船の上で２時間過ごしました。
五山送り火はとても有名なことは知っていましたが、実際に川から見て、素敵でした。
デートでも家族でもいい思い出ができること、間違いなしです。

Before boarding, I had some concerns about the weather, but we ended up departing. First, we enjoyed "cormorant fishing," but as soon as it started, we were hit by a torrential downpour accompanied by flashes of lightning and thunder, which made for a memorable experience. This is not meant to be ironic; it wasn't about whether we could see the cormorant fishing or not, but rather the conviction of the cormorant fisherman and the determination of the audience synchronized in that heavy rain, which was really fascinating. The atmosphere and excitement outweighed the fear. Afterward, the rain stopped, and we were able to see the "Daimonji" on Higashiyama and the "torii," making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, a true "souvenir for the afterlife."

昨今のご時世から、どんなものかと思案しつつも、「屋形船遊覧」に参加しました。乗船前は、天候に一抹の不安を持ちつつも、結局出発しました。先ずは「鵜飼鑑賞」ですが、始まるや否や、雷の閃光と轟とともに集中豪雨に襲われて、楽しい時を過ごさせてもらいました。これは皮肉でも何でもなくて、鵜飼は鑑賞できたかできないかではなく、あの豪雨の中での、鵜匠さんの信念と観客の根性が、シンクロしてとっても面白かったです。恐怖よりもその時の雰囲気と高揚感が勝ってました。その後雨も止んで、東山の「大文字」と、「鳥居」も鑑賞できて、私的には二度とない経験をさせてもらい、「冥途の土産」になりました。

On the evening of August 17th, under a cloudy sky, we found ourselves at the Oi River, facing the crowded Togetsukyo Bridge filled with many spectators. Together with a young and charming boatman, we boarded one of the many yakkabune (traditional pleasure boats) along with about ten other guests. Tonight marked the "Gozan Okuribi," a fire festival that hadn't taken place in three years. Luxuriously watching the cormorant fishing up close, everyone was eagerly waiting for the lighting of the "Dai" character, barely able to contain our excitement. Nearby, there were yakkabune that seemed to belong to celebrities, with real taiko and shakuhachi players creating beautifully enchanting sounds that heightened the atmosphere even more. Then, suddenly, we heard distant thunder and lightning, followed by an unexpected downpour. Everyone got soaked, and a sense of unease spread among us. However, we were all hoping for a miracle. Soon, the rain lightened, and lights appeared on the distant mountains, causing a stir of excitement among us. Before we knew it, the "Dai" character emerged, truly majestic and worthy of the term "sublime," and it was genuinely moving. There were even women among the boat passengers who were in tears. A sense of unity spread throughout the boat. Thank you so much to everyone from Kyoto and the Kyoto Prefectural Police who prepared for this event. I truly recommend this experience.
8／17の曇空の晩、沢山の見物客でごった返す渡月橋を目の前にした大堰川。若く話が上手い船頭さんと私たち10余名の客はそこに浮かぶたくさんの屋形船の一つに乗り込みました。今夜は3年ぶりの「五山送り火」。贅沢にも鵜飼漁を間近で見ながら、今か今かと皆興奮を隠し切れずに大文字の点灯を待っていました。辺りではセレブと思しき屋形船があり本物の鼓と横笛の奏者がその幻想的に美しい音色を響かせ、益々雰囲気を盛り上げていました。すると間もなく遠くに稲光と雷鳴が響き、まさかの大雨。皆びしょ濡れになり不安が漂たっていました。しかし皆奇跡を待ち望んでもいました。すると、小雨になり、遠くの山に灯りが見え、一同ざわめきと興奮が。そして、みるみる内に「大」の字が姿を現し、それはまさに荘厳と呼ぶに相応しく、本当に感動しました。舟客の中には泣いている女性もいた程でした。舟全体に一体感が広がりましました。ご準備をして下さって京都や京都府警の皆さん本当にありがとうございました。このイベントは本当おすすめだと思います。
