It was a more challenging task than I had expected. I thought it would take a maximum of two hours, but the design I chose was complex and took about three and a half hours. I had plans after the experience, and I was on the edge of whether I would make it in time or not. I've heard that some people took a whole day to complete their designs, so it seems wise to plan your schedule carefully.

Each step takes quite a bit of time and requires delicate work, so it's better to decide on your design early. I ended up choosing a very intricate design and struggled with it. Also, there's a possibility that your hands and clothes will be covered in glitter (not overly shiny). It can come off after washing your hands a few times, but it doesn't come off immediately. I wished I had gloves.

First, we chose the shape of our creations. The lower the shape, the more difficult and time-consuming it is. My wife chose "Rin," and I chose "Hanayagi." As it was our first experience, it took us about two hours.

Next, we selected the fabric according to the specified size and number of pieces. This part took me a while because I tend to be indecisive. It might be helpful to visualize the color combinations you want as you imagine the finished product.

Once the colors were decided, we started making the petals. We followed the teacher's example. It might be difficult at first, but as you make one or two, you’ll gradually get the hang of it. With excitement about creating something wonderful, we continued making the specified number of pieces. Although it was a lengthy process with many pieces, we could feel ourselves getting better and faster at it. My clumsy wife managed to make hers too!

After making the parts, we moved on to making the cord and assembling the petals. Following the teacher's instructions, we were moved as our creations began to take shape. They turned out to be really beautiful! It’s nice to have a stylish piece that looks great whether worn or displayed.

Finally, we received a sturdy case, so those walking can carry it home without worry.

夫婦で参加しました。自称不器用の妻も楽しく、いつまでも形に残せる自分たちの作品をお土産にできて大満足の一日になりましたので、その体験をご紹介。

記念日なので何か京都らしい体験をしてみようと見つけたのが「つまみ細工」体験。つまみ細工の花簪はとても綺麗で、妻に初デートの時プレゼントしたこともあり、記念になるかなと挑戦してみることに。

まず作品の形状を選びます。下にいくほど難易度が高く、時間がかかります。
妻が「凜」、私は「はなやぎ」を選択。初体験で二人ともおよそ2時間程度かかりました。

次に指定された大きさ・枚数分の生地を選びます。優柔不断の私には時間がかかるところ。完成をイメージして色の組み合わせをイメージしておくといいかもしれません。

色が決まるとまず花びらを作っていきます。先生を真似して作ります。最初は難しいかもしれませんが、1枚、2枚と作っていくうちにだんだん慣れてくると思います。素敵な作品になることに胸を膨らませながら、後は同じ要領でひたすら指定枚数作ります。数が多いとたいへんな行程ですが、だんだんと上手く、早く作れるようになっていくのを実感できますよ。不器用な妻もちゃんと作れました！

パーツができたら次は紐作り、花びらの組み立てをしていきます。先生の言うとおりやっていくと、だんだんと形になっていくことに感動。とっても素敵な作品に仕上がりました！
おしゃれでつけても、ディスプレイとして飾っても映えるオシャレな、自分たちだけの作品っていいですね。

最後は丈夫なケースを頂けますので、歩きの方も安心してお持ち帰りできます。

切ったら貼ったり描いたり…かなり細かい作業で、コンタクトを外して眼鏡にしないと老眼で見えませんでした…。
持っていったデザインが難しすぎたので時間超過してしまいご迷惑をおかけしてしまいました。
教えてくださった先生は最後までお付き合いくださり、色々と教えてくださいました。
出来上がったものはちゃんと使っています。
お弁当箱も毎日持っていっている様ですよ。
また伺いたいです。
