I was delayed at the meeting time due to traffic in front of Kyoto Station, but the staff came to greet me at the entrance, and I was able to enjoy both the meal and the visit without any issues. The meal was delicious and the portion was more than enough. After eating, I was able to enjoy the beautifully illuminated scenery without waiting in line at the reception for the visit (the autumn leaves were slightly past their peak, but I was satisfied both visually and in my stomach).

My first visit to Eikando during the autumn leaves season! As my mother warned, "It will be crowded!" I arrived at 5:00 PM to find a long line. Despite the bustling grounds, it felt wonderful to make my way to the dining reception area. The meal, which included a special night viewing ticket, was small in portion but elegantly flavored, featuring my favorite tofu, yuba, and wheat gluten. I was particularly captivated by a round, chewy dish with a thick sauce. This year seems to be a great year for the autumn leaves. The illuminated colors of gold and red were exceptionally vibrant, truly embodying the word "yugen." Walking through the grounds while enjoying the autumn foliage at night was an incredibly exciting experience. Being able to enjoy this without any "waiting time" was definitely worth the price.

The line for the illuminated viewing is incredible. It's a great plan that allows you to enjoy a meal without waiting in line.
One disappointment with the meal is that rice and miso soup are served together with the alcohol order. It would be nice if the rice could be delayed by even 10 minutes.
The autumn leaves are very beautiful, and I would like to visit again next year.

I enjoyed yudofu at Eikando Temple amidst the autumn leaves and had a great visit. I had a reservation for 12:30, but I received a confirmation call just after 12:00, informing me of the taxi drop-off location and the reception area. Thanks to that, I was able to avoid the crowds, and the staff even came out to greet me.

I didn't have high expectations for the yudofu since it was part of the visit, but everyone was delighted, saying it was delicious. The tofu, which was the main attraction, was indeed excellent!

During the autumn season, all the nearby dining places had long lines, making it impossible to enjoy yudofu in such crowds. However, thanks to the kind service from the staff, my friends praised me for making a reservation with VELTRA.

On the 21st, I participated in the Eikando Temple light-up event.

It was my first time experiencing autumn in Kyoto. I had heard that it gets very crowded during the fall foliage season, so I made a reservation for Eikando, which I really wanted to see.

When I arrived at Eikando, there was already a long line (○_○)!! I'm so glad I made a reservation. I was able to enter right as the gates opened from the side of the parking lot and enjoyed the garden with hardly anyone around. As it's known as "Eikando of the autumn leaves," it was truly wonderful.

We enjoyed every moment of this tour. It was well organized. The Kaiseki dinner was delicious. It gave us a taste of various kinds of Japanese traditional food. The Maiko dance was beautiful and captivating. After the dance, we had a short stroll at the very beautiful Japanese garden which was very enjoyable! The last brief stop of the tour was going to the top of a mountain to see the night view of Kyoto which ended the evening perfectly. We just found we hadn't had enough of all of it!

This was my first trip to Kyoto since an elementary school trip.
I'd always had something of an interest in experiencing the tea ceremony, so this was really great! From the historical tea ceremony etiquette to the many types of tools, I learned from the instructor how to properly enjoy the tea ceremony. I also had some delicious tea and sweets.

The classroom had a very calm atmosphere and even though it was close to Kinkakuji, it was quiet and I had a relaxing time there. It's a great memory from my Kyoto trip!

The instructor was so kind and answered my questions carefully. If I have the chance, I'd like to make tea using my new knowledge and remembering the important elements of the tea ceremony.

We definitely chose the right option with this tea ceremony! Thank you for such a valuable experience!

I was able to realize something I had always wanted to do: enjoy riverbed dining in Kyoto. I was so excited to participate, especially with the presence of maiko. It takes about 30 minutes by car from downtown Kyoto. It's a bit far, but my anticipation was building.

When I took my seat, the dishes were already prepared. They were cute and incredibly delicious, and I found myself eating them eagerly. While enjoying the meal, the maiko appeared and performed a couple of dances! It was moving! You can also take photos with the maiko.

During my visit, it was the season for fireflies, so they turned off all the lights for a moment, plunging us into darkness. I was able to see a few fireflies in the distance! Since it was a summer night, there were a few bugs, but that's to be expected. Let's enjoy that as part of nature! Overall, I was truly satisfied! I definitely want to go again.

京都で川床料理、いつかずっとやってみたかったことが実現できました。
しかも舞妓さんもいるなんて。。と期待に旨を膨らませて参加しました。
京都市内から車で30分くらいかかります。ちょっと遠いですが、期待に胸が膨らみます。
座席に着くと既にお料理が用意されていました。かわいくてとても美味しい料理で、夢中で食べてしまいました。お料理を楽しんでいると舞妓さんの登場です。2曲程踊ってくれました！！感動です！舞妓さんと写真撮影もできますよ♪その後は私の行った時はホタルがいる時期だったので一瞬証明を全て落として真っ暗にしてくれます。数匹ですが、遠くの方にホタルを見ることができました！夏の夜なので虫さんは少し多いですが、しょうがないですね。。
それも自然なので楽しみましょう！総じて本当に満足しました！また是非いきたいです。

I was able to learn about the history of the tea ceremony, the proper etiquette, and the different types of tools used, all in a detailed manner. The tea and sweets were also very delicious.

The atmosphere in the classroom was calm, and despite being very close to Kinkaku-ji, I was able to spend a quiet and peaceful time, making it a wonderful memory of my trip to Kyoto! The teacher was very kind and answered my questions patiently. If I have the opportunity, I would like to remember the principles of the tea ceremony, "Wa, Kei, Sei, Jaku," and try making tea again.

We added the optional tea party experience, and it was the right choice! Thank you for this valuable experience!

If I had arrived a week later, it might have been the perfect time for autumn leaves, but the illumination was beautiful nonetheless. I arrived earlier than the reservation time, and since it was cold outside in Kyoto at night during this season, the staff kindly let us into the dining area next to Eikando while they were still preparing, allowing us to wait inside and warm up. I was told that we could choose to have our meal either before or after viewing the illumination, but since there was a set ending time and they still needed more time to prepare, we decided to see the illumination first. Even so, we were able to take our time looking around, and we were able to have our meal afterward. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the meal as it didn't meet my expectations in terms of the menu...

あと一週間遅ければ　丁度良い紅葉時期だったかもしれませんが、それでも　ライトアップは綺麗でした。予約受付時間より早めに到着したのですが　この時期の夜の京都は外が寒かったのもあり、準備中にも関わらず係の方が永観堂横の　食事場所の館内に入れて下さり　暖を取りながら待機することが出来ました。食事はライトアップ見学の前後を選ぶことが出来るとの事でしたが、終了時間が決まっているけれど　まだ準備に時間が必要だとの事で　先にライトアップを見学。それでもゆっくり見て回る事が出来、後に食事を済ませる事も出来ました。正直、食事の方は　メニュー的に　期待したほどでは無くて残念でしたけど・・・。

On February 27th (Saturday), three women and I had lunch here.
The meal included two appetizers (a pink fish that looked like shirasu) and goma tofu.
After waiting about 10 to 15 minutes, a three-tiered bento arrived, which contained (one tier with about three pieces of sashimi, another tier with okara, shrimp, and chimaki, and the last tier with grilled fish).
Then, a large plate of buri daikon was served for sharing, along with white rice with black beans, red miso soup, and pickles.
Finally, we were served warabi mochi for dessert.
The best part of the meal was the white rice with black beans and the pickles.
The taste was neither particularly delicious nor bad; it was average.
The satisfaction level regarding the price (cost performance) in relation to taste and portion size was low.
The portions might be small for men, so I think it's better suited for women.

Unfortunately, we ended up making a reservation at the same time as another group, which resulted in the longest wait I've experienced during a meal (^^;).
The staff member who served us in a kimono apologized for the delay while bringing out the food.
I also apologized to the other two women, saying, "Sorry for taking up your time," while we waited. The two people at the next table were also made to wait quite a bit.

Unlike dinner, lunch is often taken between other commitments, and since we weren't visiting specifically for the meal, the feeling of having our time taken was significant.
It's important to be cautious when dining at such places in Kyoto.

2/27（土）に女性3名で昼食で利用させて頂きました
お食事の内容は、付き出し2品（しらすっぽいピンク色の魚）ゴマ豆腐
その後約10～15分待ち3段弁当が届き中身は（おさしみ3切れ位？の段、おから・エビ・ちまきなどの段、もう1段は焼き魚）
その後ブリ大根が大皿で届きとりわけ
黒豆が乗った白色おこわ・赤だし味噌汁・つけもの
最後にデザートでわらび餅が出ました
上記で一番おいしかったのは黒豆が乗った白色おこわとつけものでした。
お味は特別美味しくもなく、まずくもなく普通です。
味と量に対する価格（コストパフォーマンス）満足度は低めです
男性には量が少ないので、女性同士が良いと思います

今回運悪くどちらかの団体さんと同じ時間に予約になってしまった為
今まで食事してきた中で一番待たされながらの食事でした（＾＾；
着物で接客して下さったご担当者様もお時間かかってすみませんと
謝まりながらお食事を運ばれていました。
私も、他の女性2名に「ごめんな～時間とってしまって」と謝りながら
待ちました。隣の席の2名もかなり待たされていました。

夕食と違い昼食の場合は、用事と用事の間で取る事が多く、食事が
目的で訪問はしていない為、時間取られた感が大きかったです
京都のこういったお店で食事する際には注意が必要です。

Traditional Tea Ceremony Experience near Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoto

It has been such a nice experience. The host was super nice and the ceremony was superlative. Reisan was dressed with a beautiful kimono and make us enjoy the pleasure of this traditional performance. She also answered to all our doubts without esitate. The house a minute walking from the kinkakuji so it is really comfortable to get there. The first floor of the house is well decorated with objects of the Japanese tradition. Recommended.
