I was late for the meeting time at Hanazono Station, but they turned back from another station to come pick me up.
We enjoyed a delicious bamboo shoot kaiseki meal by the beautiful riverbed with green maple leaves.
After the meal, we had time to stroll around nearby tourist attractions.
Next time, I would like to visit during the beautiful autumn foliage season.

A really memorable and amazing experience with this Maiko Dance and dinner tour. We were escorted to a beautiful and spacious dining hall at Shozan Resort Kyoto. It is an incredibly lovely resort with a beautiful Japanese garden. A traditional and a delicious Japanese dinner was served. (Menu: Saki dzuke “appetizer”, Ha sun “ha-sun assortment”, Otsukuri “sliced raw fish”, Ipoin “a dish”, Konami “small saucepan”, Agemono “fried food”, Gohan “rice”, Kounomono “pickle” , Mizumono “dessert”, While we were enjoying our dinner, a stunningly beautiful Maiko (her name is Kimisora, the meaning of her name is dream) came out onto the stage and performed a brief dance. Kimosora san talked about some geisha history and her own stories of how and why she becomes a Maiko. Kimosora san was fascinated about geisha and their stories when she was a kid and determined to become a geisha one day. She is a friendly and sweet and elegant lady. Her English is excellent. She also showed us her extraordinary beautiful kimono and her special makeup and hairdo. Surprisingly we were given an extra long Q and A time (at least 30 mins or so) with her and we could ask any questions. She answered every question attentively and precisely. At the end we could all take several photos with her. (A reminder to myself : never touch the geisha hands or their clothes and this is an absolute respect to a geisha). During the whole meeting I could also take many photos freely. Kimisora san gave us her name card at the end of the dinner. It was a really really wonderful and memorable evening. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to meet a maiko in an extremely relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. If I ever visit Tokyo in the future I would join this tour again. A great and joyful life experience. My best wishes to Kimisora san and thank you Veltra for making my dream come true.

After checking in at Hanazono Kaikan, I visited Myoshinji Temple. Myoshinji is a collection of small temples, and I enjoyed a leisurely two-hour visit, appreciating the autumn leaves. The "Yudofu with Kyoto Bamboo Basket Meal" after the visit was very delicious and truly representative of Kyoto.

After strolling around Arashiyama early in the morning, I took the JR train to Hanazono Station and walked to Myoshinji from there. I mistakenly headed to Myoshinji thinking there would be a meal at the temple. They were very accommodating. The weather was great after the rain, and the autumn leaves in the garden were stunning. I was able to enjoy a luxurious moment in the tranquility.

However, by making a reservation here, I was able to enjoy a warm and delicious meal in a charming atmosphere, and I had a wonderful holiday taking in the autumn colors at my leisure.

The main dish was yudofu (hot tofu), and the dipping sauce was very tasty. However, I thought it would have been nice to have a little bit of meat, like tsukune (chicken meatballs) or chicken, instead of just tofu, so I rated it four stars. If I upgrade, will there be meat? It was also disappointing that I couldn't confirm the menu in advance.

It was my first visit to Kyoto in over 20 years. With the autumn leaves in full bloom and the expected influx of tourists post-COVID, I found myself wondering how to make the most of my limited time of just five and a half hours. While researching, I came across this activity.

The lunch with yudofu provided by Hanagokoro was plentiful and offered great value for money. It felt like a bit of a luxurious lunch, and I ended up ordering a non-alcoholic beer as well. The matcha served while enjoying the autumn leaves in the garden of Daikōin was also delicious. The tea seating arrangement in the garden was beautiful.

I was unsure how to navigate Kyoto, but I’m glad I chose this option. The grounds of Myoshinji had only a few visitors. I enjoyed the autumn leaves in the dry landscape garden of Taizoin, and the Great Kitchen and the dragon by Tanyu were also impressive. I found myself captivated by the roofs, gates, walls, and tiles of the temples that were not open to the public. Thank you for a wonderful time.

20年以上ぶりの京都でした。紅葉真っ盛りの、コロナ明けのインバウンドの状態も予想され　しかも日帰りでフリー時間5時間半という制約の中で　どうしようか？と迷いながら事前に調べている中で　こちらのアクティビティを見つけました。
花ごころさんの湯豆腐付きランチは、品数も多くコスパいいと思います。ちょっと贅沢なランチって感じ。つい　ノンアルビールも頼んでしまいました。
セットになっている大法院のお庭の紅葉をみながらのお抹茶も美味しかったです。お庭のお茶席風のしつらえも綺麗でした。

京都でどう動くのがいいか迷いましたが、こちらを選んで良かったと思いました。妙心寺の境内は人通りもちらほらでした。付随する退蔵院の枯山水のお庭の紅葉をみたり、大庫裏や探幽の龍も良かった。
公開されていないどのお寺も屋根も門も塀も瓦も　ついつい見とれてしまいました。素敵な時間をありがとうございました。

I was convinced. It was the most delicious grilled sweetfish I've ever had. After the meal, I strolled around while chatting with my friends, dipping my feet in the cold river water. I wonder how it is in this intense heat with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees for several days. Contrary to my worries, the riverside was very cool with a nice breeze. I'm not a fan of river fish, but I ate the grilled young sweetfish whole, starting from the head. The skin was delicious, and I didn't mind the bones at all. Enjoying a beer while listening to the sound of the river was delightful. It's definitely summer in Japan from the afternoon.

I used a shuttle for the outbound trip. For the return, I took the city bus for 230 yen (though it takes some time). I was disappointed that I didn't realize how convenient the bus was, as I didn't have a sense of the distance between the city and Takao. I would have appreciated it if there had been some information about that somewhere.

I also visited the "Bird and Beast Caricatures" (it's 1000 yen per person), and I was able to spend time leisurely without encountering many overseas visitors.

そんな心配をよそに川床は、風が抜けて非常に涼しく過ごさせていただきました。　
川魚は苦手ですが稚鮎の塩焼きは頭から食べました。皮目が美味く骨も気にならず美味しくいただきました。川の音を聞きながらビールをゴクリ。
昼から日本の夏ですね。
往路は送迎を利用しました。復路は230円の市バスを利用(時間かかりますけど)。市内と高雄までの距離感がわからずバスが便利なことが判らず残念。どこかに記述いただけたら嬉しかったです。
鳥獣戯画も見学して(お一人様1000円ですけど)
海外の方ともほぼ合わずゆっくりと過ごさせていただきました。

The shuttle bus comes to Uzumasa Tenjingawa Station on the Kyoto City Subway, making it convenient for trips to Takao. We arrived at Momijiya on a Friday weekend without any traffic. After arriving, we were guided directly to the photo spot by the river, and we immediately enjoyed a yudofu set meal. Before the food was brought out, they came to take drink orders, so I believe additional orders can be made for an extra charge (I only ordered tea). The meal was a yudofu hot pot course and was quite sufficient. Although it was mid-November and not the peak of the autumn leaves, the scenery was still beautiful. After the meal, we had enough time for free activities to visit Jingoji, Seiryoji, and Takaozan Temple, and then we were taken back to the same station on the same bus. I highly recommend it!

京都市営地下鉄　太秦天神川駅まで送迎のバスが来るので高雄に行く場合に便利です。もみぢ家さんまで週末の金曜日でしたが渋滞もなく到着。到着後にそのまま川床の写真の場所へ案内頂き、直ぐに湯豆腐定食を頂きました。料理を持ってきて頂く前に飲み物のオーダーを取りに来ますので、追加料金で注文が可能と思います（私はお茶だけでオーダーしませんでした）。料理は湯豆腐の鍋コースで十分な内容でした。十一月の中旬だったので紅葉最盛期では無いですが十分な景観でした。食事の後は、自由行動で神護寺や西明寺、高山寺を観て回るのに十分な時間を要した後にお迎えと同じバスで同じ駅まで送って貰えます。お勧めだと思います！

I visited for a meal with friends. The weather was nice that day, and since it was early autumn, the temperature was just right, making for a comfortable experience. The meal included mizutaki and many beautiful small dishes, all of which were very delicious and visually enjoyable.

The scenery suggested that the autumn leaves were just starting to change, but the green leaves were also beautiful, so I think I came at a good time. Next time, I definitely want to visit during the summer riverside dining and the autumn foliage season.

I have been to the riverside dining areas in Kamogawa and Kibune in the past, and in terms of the scale of the facilities and the distance to the water, it was somewhere in between Kamogawa and Kibune. The blue maple leaves were beautiful.

However, the tour guide and another tour conductor ended up eating their staff meal at the counter seat next to mine, and their chatter disrupted the quiet ambiance of the restaurant. It seemed that a separate staff meal area had been prepared, but this regular customer-like tour conductor wanted to sit in that seat and forced a move. If the tour conductor is allowed to eat at the same table as the customers, they should eat with their own customers. I think they should be seated separately from now on, especially since a complaint came from a customer. I wasn't feeling great about this, so I lowered my rating by one star.

I was a little late for the shuttle bus meeting time, but when I contacted them, they were very kind and waited for me, which was a great help. Fortunately, the rain wasn't too strong, just light, so we had our meal at a semi-indoor table facing the river. I chose the bamboo course, and when I saw the photos, I wondered if it would be enough. Since it was lunch, I thought it might be just a small portion, but surprisingly, there was a good amount and it was delicious! Next time, I would like to participate on a sunny day.

We had a meal in a lovely town house that was completely reserved for us. The timing of the dishes being served was just right, and we were able to enjoy our meal in peace.
