I participated with a friend on November 16. Although there were no foreign visitors due to the impact of COVID-19, I thought it would probably be the most crowded day of the year, so I felt it was a bit expensive but decided to make a reservation. We chose the 7 PM dining option, but I wanted to enter the night viewing at 5:30 PM, so we arrived at the Eikando Kaikan reception tent at 4:30 PM. Since there was no one at the tent, another participant who was waiting there called the phone number posted at the reception. After about 10 minutes, a staff member arrived and checked the list. Since everyone else wanted to go to dinner first, the staff member guided the other participants to the dining area, and after a while, they finally returned to us. (I was worried we had been forgotten. The male staff member at the reception was very kind.)

By that time, the line for general visitors had grown quite long, and I was talking with my friend about how glad we were to have made a reservation. We were taken to the very front of the group line. (Tour buses were arriving one after another, and group guests were lined up at a separate entrance from general visitors.) There was a bit of a dispute between the staff and Eikando staff about whether we could enter before the group guests, but we explained that we had been waiting since 4:30 PM and managed to enter first.

The illumination at Eikando was as wonderful as rumored. However, thinking about the huge crowd pushing in from behind made me feel rushed, and I couldn't enjoy it slowly. Also, at what was probably the best spot for taking pictures of the autumn leaves, bridge, and pond, the staff told us, "You can't take photos here!" It was unfortunate, but it couldn't be helped.

Before I knew it, we finished viewing and headed to the dining area. Although our reservation was for 7 PM, we were guided in early. I had seen many reviews, so I didn't have high expectations, but I thought it wasn't as terrible as the reviews suggested. The dining staff was also very kind. We enjoyed our meal.

Now, regarding the price of 6,000 yen, I do feel it's a bit high. I think it would be more reassuring to participate if the guidance were a bit smoother. The waiting time at the tent and the anxiety at the group entrance were negative points.

By the way, for those heading to Eikando, I recommend aiming for the last illumination time. You can enter smoothly without waiting in line, and since there are fewer people, you can take photos at your leisure.

Additionally, although it's unrelated to Eikando, the illumination at "Hōgon-in" in Arashiyama, which we visited the next day, was wonderful. (I thought it was better than Eikando.) First, there were fewer people. The space was large, so people were dispersed. It was spacious enough to enjoy the autumn leaves. I was able to take photos at a leisurely pace. I also recommend going there later.

11月16日に友人と参加。コロナの影響で外国人がいないものの、おそらく１年で１番混雑するだろうと思われたため、少し高いなと思いましたが思い切って予約。食事は１９時～を選びましたが、夜間拝観17時半に１番に入りたいと思い16時30分に永観堂会館の受付テントに到着しました。テントには誰もいなかったため、同じくテント前で待っていたほかの参加者の方が、受付に貼ってあった電話番号に電話してくれました。10分ほど待ったころに係の方が来てくれて名簿をチェック。私たち以外は食事先希望だったため、係の方がそのほかの参加者を食事会場へと案内し、またしばーらく待ってやっと私たちのところに係の方が戻ってきてくれました。（忘れられたかと心配になりました。受付の男性スタッフはとても親切な方でした）
そのころには一般の方の列はかなり伸びて、やはり予約しておいてよかったね、と友人と話していました。
連れていかれたのは、団体の方の列の一番前。（観光バスが続々と到着し団体客は一般客とは別の入り口に並んでいました）団体の方が入場する前に私たちが入っていいか、（一番先に入ってよいかどうか）と係の方と永観堂のスタッフで少しもめましたが、私たちも4時半からずっと待っていると説明し、なんとか１番に入場することができました。
永観堂のライトアップはうわさ通りとても素晴らしいものでした。しかし、後ろからものすごい人が押し寄せてくると思うとなんだか焦ってしまいゆっくり観ることができませんでした。
また、おそらく一番紅葉と橋と池がよく撮れるポイントでは、スタッフの方に「ここでは写真を撮ってはいけません！」と言われました。仕方がないことですが、残念でした。
そんなこんなであっという間に見終わってしまい、食事会場へ。１９時からの予約でしたが、早く案内してもらえました。皆さんの口コミをたくさんみたのであまり期待はしていませんでしたが、口コミほどひどい内容ではなかったと思います。食事のスタッフさんもとても親切でした。私たちはおいしくいただきましたよ。
さて6000円という値段はどうでしょう。やはり少し高いような気がします。もう少しスムーズな案内があれば安心して参加できると思いました。テントでの待ち時間、団体の入り口での不安感がマイナスポイントです。
ちなみに、これから永観堂へ行かれる方。ライトアップの最終時間を狙うのがお勧めです。並ぶことなくスムーズに入場でき、人が少ないのでゆっくり写真も撮れると思います。
それから永観堂とは関係ありませんが。私たちが次の日に行った、嵐山の「宝厳院」のライトアップは素晴らしかったです。（私は永観堂より良いと思いました）まず人が少ない。広いので人が分散する。広いので紅葉を堪能できる。写真もゆっくり撮れました。こちらも遅めに行くのがよりオススメです。

The meal was mediocre (the portion was sufficient, but it was cold), but I was moved by the autumn foliage illumination. I was also happy to see the Amida Buddha statue from behind. The best part of this tour is being able to enjoy the sights smoothly without having to wait in line, even in the cold. Since the meeting point is at the location, it would be even better if there were a pick-up plan from major hotels. Overall, I am satisfied.

食事はイマイチでしたが（量は充分でしたが冷えていました）紅葉のライトアップは感動しました。見返り阿弥陀像を拝めたのも嬉しかったです。
寒い中、行列に並ぶことも無くスムーズに鑑賞出来るのがこのツアーの１番の魅力です。
現地集合なので、主要ホテルに送迎のプランがあれば尚嬉しいです。
総合的にみて満足しています。

The illumination of the autumn leaves was wonderful. Unfortunately, aside from the rice and soba, the other dishes were cold and hard.

The autumn leaves exceeded my expectations. I was moved by the wonderful scenery both from the garden and inside the hall. The meal set made sightseeing smooth and enjoyable.

聞きしに勝る紅葉の競演。お庭もお堂の中からも、素晴らしい景観で感動しました。お食事セットでスムーズに観光できました。

It was true that it would be crowded. Despite making a reservation to avoid it, I still had to wait in line until the lights started, even though I arrived an hour early. Although I was allowed in slightly earlier than those without reservations, I was quickly swept along with the crowd of those who had lined up without reservations, and it felt rushed.

For those who want to take their time or have difficulties like sore feet, I recommend visiting during the day to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The night may seem magical, but that's just an illusion. The daytime is brighter, and the autumn leaves are beautiful. The kaiseki meal was just something I ate in silence; it wasn't worth the price.

混雑必至は本当でした。それを避けようと予約したにも関わらず、１時間まえに行ったにも関わらず、ライトアップがスタートするまで並ばされました。
予約なしの人たちよりわずかに早く入れたものの、すぐに予約無しで並んだ人たちが押し寄せ忙しく見て終わり。出口まで流されて終わりました。
ゆっくり見たい方、足が痛いなど困難のある方は、昼に時間をとってゆっくり見る方をおすすめします。夜は幻想的だろうと思うのはまさに幻想。昼のほうが明るく紅葉もきれい。会席料理はただ黙っ食べただけ。お値段ほどではなかった。

I was able to enter without waiting through a side entrance, while others were lined up in a long queue. Thanks to the entry restrictions, the crowd inside wasn't as bad as I expected, and the autumn foliage illumination was at its peak, allowing me to enjoy a truly ethereal view. However, the dinner was disappointing; the tempura was cold, and the yudofu was just regular tofu. I would have preferred a smaller portion with better quality.

二重三重に並んでいる入場待ちの列を尻目に横の入り口から待たずに入れました。入場制限のおかげで中の混雑は思ったほどではなく、紅葉のライトアップはまさに見頃で幽玄な景色を楽しみました。ただ夕食が不味く、天ぷらは冷めていて湯豆腐も普通の豆腐で、量はもっと少なくても良いから質を上げて欲しかったです。

About the kaiseki cuisine: The tempura was cold, so I would have appreciated it if it had been served with warm dipping sauce. The cold soba was a bit overcooked, and I would have liked it if it had been served with miso soup.

About Eikando: Perhaps it was because it was a weekday when the colors were just starting to change? After dinner, there was no line by 18:30. Although it wasn't the peak season for autumn leaves, Eikando surrounded by maple trees and the reflections of the trees in the pond were beautiful.

This time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was nice to be able to enjoy a meal while keeping a distance from others.

I arrived a little earlier than the start time, but I was kindly allowed to enter. The garden's lighting and the sound of the flute resonating throughout the grounds were wonderful!

開始時間より少し早く着きましたが、感じよく中に入れて頂きました。
そして、庭園のライトアップ、境内に響き渡る笛の音色が素敵でした！

The autumn leaves were beginning to change color beautifully around the pond, although they were not yet at their peak.

However, I felt there was a lack of coordination between Veltal and Eikando.

Regarding the dining location, there was no prior explanation about where it was, and I did not receive a map from Eikando. When I asked the eight volunteer staff members standing at various points along the way, none of them knew the location.

Moreover, two young female university students near the stairs by the pond were very unhelpful, saying, "The Eikando Hall is not on this premises. It's a one-way street, so could you please exit from the exit?" When I asked, "If I exit, I can't come back in, right?" they replied, "Yes!" So, I said, "I'll go back and look for it again," and left the spot. (By the way, the autumn leaves were not at their peak, and there was plenty of space to walk and pass each other.)

When I tried to speak to a male staff member at the top of the stairs, I heard a voice over the radio that seemed to belong to one of the female staff members I had spoken to earlier. She said, "Even though I desperately tried to stop her, one person went back forcefully." I wondered if she was talking about me, but I hadn't been stopped at all, and I had left the scene politely, yet this was the way she spoke. These people didn't even try to find out the location.

Ultimately, when I asked a female staff member collecting admission tickets at the entrance, she handed me over to an older male staff member. However, this older male staff member walked ahead silently, and I thought he might know the way, but he stopped in front of Veltal's tent and said, "We haven't been informed of anything! Please wait here until the Veltal staff arrives," and left without waiting for me to speak. After a while, the Veltal staff returned and took me to the dining location.

Both while waiting and wandering around looking for the place, I felt very anxious, and the response from the Eikando volunteer staff was extremely unpleasant.

I lodged a complaint about the poor service from the Eikando volunteers, but I have yet to receive any response.

What I would like Veltal to do is to say something like, "The Eikando Hall is immediately to the left as you enter," when distributing admission tickets. If that's too difficult, perhaps they could prepare a simple map, or if that's also too difficult, include a note in the confirmation email stating, "Please note that there will be no guidance on the day, so please check the location on your own." There are plenty of ways to address this.

Even though they are Eikando volunteer staff, it is unacceptable that they do not know the locations within the premises, do not even have a map, have no intention of researching or providing information, and do not know how to connect with someone who does. They lack responsibility and their level of service is far too low.

If Eikando is not willing to change their approach in the future, I believe Veltal will have to provide a more careful response to ensure participants have a comfortable experience.

Additionally, the tempura for dinner was not just cold; it was icy. Given that meal, the price felt high. However, the staff at the dining location were pleasant.

紅葉は池の周りをはじめ、まだ真っ盛りではありませんが綺麗に色づきはじめていました。

ただ、ベルトラさんと永観堂さんとの間で、連携が取れていないと感じました。

食事場所について、どこにあるのかなど、特に事前に説明はなく、永観堂から地図も頂けなかったので、道の所々立っている、永観堂ボランティアスタッフ計8名に尋ねたところ全員場所が分かりませんでした。

しかも、池付近の階段にいた若い大学生くらいの女性2人は、対応がひどく、「永観堂会館というのは、この敷地内にないです。一方通行なので、出口から出てくれますか」と言いました。なので、私は「一回出口から出たら、もう中には入れませんよね？」と聞いたところ、「はい！」と答えました。なので、私は「もう一回、戻って探してきますね。」と言ってその場から立ち去りました。（ちなみに、紅葉も真っ盛りという状況ではなく、道は十分に距離を取って歩けるし、行き違いも十分可能な状態でした。）

階段を上がりきった男性スタッフに話しかけようとしたとき、さっき話した女性スタッフのうちのひとりと思われる声が無線に入りました。
「必死に引き止めたのに、強引に1人戻っていきましたあー」と。わたしのことかしらと思いましたが、そもそも引き止められていないし、わたしなりに丁寧にその場を後にしたのに、この言いよう。この人たち、場所を調べようともしなかったくせに。

最終的に、入り口で拝観券を集めていた女性スタッフに聞いたところ、この人は自分より年配のスタッフに引き継いでくれました。
が、この年配男性スタッフが、無言でズンズン進んでいくので、分かる人かと思いきや、ベルトラさんのテント前に止まり、「私たちは何も聞かされていないんですよ！ここでベルトラのスタッフが来るまで待ってください」とだけ言って、私が話すの待たずに去っていきました。しばらくして、ベルトラさんのスタッフが帰って来たので、食事場所に連れていっていただきました。

待っている間も、場所を探して彷徨っているときも、非常に不安でしたし、永観堂ボランティアスタッフの対応も大変不快でした。

永観堂にいくらボランティアといえ、対応が酷すぎるとクレームを入れましたが、いまだ、何の連絡もありません。

ベルトラさんにお願いしたいのは、拝観券を配るときにでも、「入口を入って左手すぐにあるのが永観堂会館ですよ」、と一言を言って頂きたいです。それも難しいならば、簡単な地図を用意するだとか、それも難しいならば、事前に「特に当日は案内はないので、各自で場所を確認しておいてください」と確認メールに入れるなど。対処法はいくらでもあります。

永観堂ボランティアスタッフとは言え、境内内の場所について分からない、かつ地図さえ持っていない、調べて教える気もない、分かる人間へのつなぎ方も知らないスタッフばかりで、責任感も感じられず、レベルが低すぎです。

ベルトラ参加者が快適に過ごすためには、永観堂さんが今後も対応を変える気がないのならば、ベルトラさんの方でもう少し丁寧に対応して頂くしか無いと思います。

あと、夕食の天ぷらが、冷めてるレベルでなく、冷たかったです。あの食事で、料金が高く感じました。ただ、食事処のスタッフは感じが良かったです。

Last year's reviews were favorable, so even though it was a bit pricey, I decided to make a reservation. However, this year, due to the impact of COVID-19, they implemented temperature checks and a one-way entry system, which meant I had to enter from the same place as the general waiting line. Even when the general admission started, I was just left waiting because of the separate guidance. I could only watch others go in, which was frustrating since I paid more. Once inside, I was exhausted from the crowd. While dinner was included, I couldn't understand the purpose of the reservation. To be honest, after 6 PM, the general line was able to enter without waiting, so there was zero sense of value. Spending 6,000 yen felt wasteful. If there were a system that allowed entry at least 15 minutes earlier, it would be worth the price. They should clearly outline any changes to the system.

昨年の口コミが好評だったので少し高めでしたが、思い切って予約してみました。しかし…今年はコロナの影響で検温の実施と一方通行になったの事もあり一般の待ち列と同じ場所からの入場でした。一般の待ち時間の列が入場開始になっても、別案内なため待機するばかり。横目で入っていくのを見ているだけ。多く払っているのにとイライラしてしまいました。入っても人混みでぐったり。たしかに夕食が付いてはいますが、何のための予約か分かりません。はっきり言って18時過ぎには一般の列は待つ事なく入場出来ており、お得感ゼロです。6000円は勿体ない。せめて15分前に入場出来るようなシステムならこの値段でも
価値はあるはず。もう少し変更したシステムなどを明記するべきです。

Since it was early November, there was only a little autumn foliage, but the illumination was very magical and wonderful. The food was satisfying, with a kaiseki meal that had a lot of volume and allowed us to taste a variety of dishes in small portions. However, I was a bit disappointed because I had expected to enjoy the meal while viewing the illumination. There was also a temperature check at the beginning, which showed that they were taking COVID-19 precautions.

11月初旬だったため、少ししか紅葉していませんでしたがライトアップ はとても幻想的で良かったです。お料理はボリューム満点で色んなものが少しずつたくさん食べられる懐石料理で満足でしたが、ライトアップ を見ながらの食事だと思っていたので少し残念でした。初めに検温もありコロナ対策もしていました。

After a 30-minute bus ride from the designated hotel, we arrived at the riverside dining area in Kyoto, Takao. The moment we got off the bus, we were in a fantastical place that felt like it could be from "Spirited Away."

The food was already set up, and when we opened the lid, the meat was absolutely amazing! I was so impressed. As we neared the end of our meal, a maiko appeared. After the greetings, she visited each table. Today's maiko was Kimika from Miyakawacho.

After chatting, it was finally time for her to perform, and she danced for us twice. Thank you for this extraordinary experience.

指定ホテルよりバスに揺られて３０分程度、京都、高雄の川床へ
バスを降りた瞬間の幻想的な場所。まるで千と千尋の神隠しに出てきそうな場所です。
料理はセッティングされていたのですが・・・・
蓋を開けたら、お肉のすごいことすごいこと！！感激です。
食事も終盤にかかると舞妓さんの登場。ご挨拶が終わり各テーブルへ
今日の舞妓さんは、宮川町の君翔さんです。
話も終わりいよいよ踊りの披露、二舞してくれました。
非日常をありがとう。

The dedicated suspension bridge really elevated my spirits. I was healed by the sound of the flowing river.
The meal included a bento with grilled sweetfish, which was worth the price.
I requested a shuttle service, but since I had some extra time, I toured a nearby temple. The distance back to the bus drop-off point was quite far, so I returned by public transport (bus).
I had a wonderful experience. Thank you very much.

専用のつり橋がとても気持ちを高めてくれました。川のせせらぎに癒されました。
お料理は鮎の塩焼き付きお弁当といった内容でお値段相当でよかったです(^^)
送迎をお願いしましたが、時間があまってしまったので近くのお寺を観光しました。バスの乗降場所まで戻るのも距離が離れてしまいましたので、交通機関（バス）で帰りました。
とても良い体験ができました。ありがとうございました。

I wanted to experience a summer-like Kyoto, and while searching online, I found this site. It takes about 30 minutes from downtown Kyoto, but there is a bus service, making it easy to access a location that is quite difficult to reach on your own due to the poor mountain roads. Additionally, I enjoyed the meals right by the river, conversations with the geisha, and their dances, which exceeded my expectations and allowed me to truly savor a summer-like Kyoto.

夏らしい京都を感じたくネットで調べていたら、このサイトを見つけました。
京都市街地から約30分位かかりますがバス送迎あり、単独では行きづらいくらい山手の道も良くない場所なので楽でした。
また、川を目の前にした料理、舞妓さんとの会話、舞妓さんの踊りと予想以上に楽しめて本当に夏らしい京都を満喫して出来ました。

Although I arrived a bit late due to traffic, I received a call from them, and they were very courteous throughout. Every dish was delicious. せっかく京都に来たので紅葉を見る他、季節を感じられる食事をしたいと思い申し込みました。渋滞で少し到着が遅くなってしまいましたが、先方からご連絡を頂戴し、終始ご丁寧な対応をしていただきました。どのお料理もとても美味しかったです。食事後に拝観した永観堂の紅葉はとても美しく、訪れてよかったです。また機会があればご利用させていただきたいと思います。

やはり永観堂のライトアップは圧巻でした！一見の価値ありです。
そして、大混雑の行列に並ばずに入ることが出来て夕食がついているこちらのツアーは、時間を有効に使いたい観光客にとって価格以上の価値がありますね。

宿泊先ホテルの方も、そんな素晴らしいツアーがあるんですか？と驚いてました。
また秋の京都に行く機会があったら利用したいと思います。

The peak of the autumn leaves had passed, and since it was a weekday, I didn't feel much of an advantage, but the food was delicious, and the portion sizes were sufficient for women in our middle-aged group. Being able to enter right after finishing the meal also saves time...

At Eikando, you enter through a different gate than the general visitors, so it's recommended during times when there is a long line at the main gate.

紅葉のピークが過ぎていたのと平日だったのとで、それほどの優位性は感じられませんでしたが、食事も美味しかったし、量も我々中高年女性には十分でした。食事を終えてすぐ中に入れるのも時間の節約になるし…
永観堂には一般の参拝客とは別の門から入りますので、門前に長蛇の列ができる時期にはオススメです。

I went to the crowded Eikando Temple light-up event. We enjoyed the viewing first and had dinner reserved for 7 PM. This turned out to be a great decision! While waiting at the front of the group entrance for 15 minutes, we could already see the garden clearly. Of course, there were no people around. My wife's excitement was at its peak. I later learned that ticket sales start at 5:30 PM, but it seems that only this plan allows entry at that time with pre-purchased tickets. I think being able to take photos without any people around just one minute after entry is a golden plan. Surprisingly, not many people seem to know about this. Also, the meal was surprisingly good, and we enjoyed it with a separately ordered beer.

混雑必至の永観堂ライトアップにいってきました。先に鑑賞して、食事は19時で予約。これが的中！長蛇の列を横目に団体用入り口の先頭で待つこと15分。既に庭園が丸見え。当然、人影無し。妻のテンションMAX。後から知りましたが、17時30分入場券販売開始らしいのですが、入場券先渡しで17時30分に入れるのは、このプランだけの様です。入場1分の差が人影無しの撮影ができる黄金プランだと思いますよ。意外とみんな知らないんだね。あと、食事は意外とちゃんとしていて、ビール別注文で美味しくいただきました。

I applied for the tour with my 88-year-old mother-in-law. The autumn leaves at Eikando are famous, but I was surprised by how long the line was to purchase tickets. I really understood the appeal of this tour, which allows you to enter without waiting in line. Just like a fast pass at a theme park, we easily entered through a different entrance and were greeted by a stunning display of illuminated autumn leaves. We cheered several times.

Even though we arrived early for dinner at the Eikando Hall, they prepared everything right away, and we were able to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. I think this is a valuable tour.

88歳の義母と二人で申し込みました。
永観堂の紅葉は有名ですが、チケットを購入するための行列があんなに長蛇とはビックリ。このツアーの売りが 並ばずに入れる、という意味がよくわかりました。テーマパークのファストパスよろしく、別の入り口から難なく入場した先には素晴らしい紅葉のライトアップ。何度も歓声をあげました。
永観堂会館での夕食も、予定より早く行ったのですが、すぐに用意していただき、のんびりと食べられました。価値あるツアーだと思います。

I arrived a little early for my lunch reservation. I first visited Eikando, which was in full autumn foliage. After enjoying the sights at a leisurely pace, I had a meal at the nearby Eikan Kaikan. I also enjoyed my meal at a comfortable seat with a view of the autumn leaves from the window.

During the autumn season in Kyoto, dining places are crowded, and it takes time to wait in line even if you walk around looking for a place. Combining the visit with a meal saves time, and the food is typically Kyoto-style. The taste is also quite good.

For this price and quality, I am satisfied with the time saved. I highly recommend it.

こちらもゆったりと窓から紅葉の見える席でいただきました。

紅葉のころの京都のお食事処は
探して歩いてもどこも混雑していて、
並んで待ち時間もかかります。
拝観とセットで時間も無駄なく、
お食事の内容も京都らしいお食事です。
味も悪くありません。

このお値段でこの内容、時間も節約できて満足です。
オススメです。

Upon arriving at Eikando, I thought I might have trouble finding the reception area, but it was helpful that they had set up a tent in an easy-to-find spot in the parking lot. The meal time and entry time to Eikando were very flexible, which was great (I arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes early, enjoyed a leisurely meal, and went to Eikando whenever I wanted. There was also plenty of time for viewing). Additionally, the food was exquisite and carefully selected, and the best part was being able to enter Eikando from the back without waiting in line. The cost performance was outstanding. I highly recommend visiting Eikando for the autumn leaves.

永観堂に到着し、受付場所に悩むかと思いましたが、駐車場の分かりやすい場所にテントを構えておられたので、助かりました。食事の時間と永観堂への入場の時間は非常にフレキシブルで良かったです(30分前にお食事処に着き、のんびり食べて、好きな時間に永観堂に行きました。拝観時間も十分です)。また、お食事もこだわりの品々でとても美味しく、何より並ばずに裏から永観堂に入れることと、コストパフォーマンスの高さは素晴らしいです。永観堂に紅葉狩りをしに行く際はぜひ。

My first time visiting the autumn leaves in Kyoto.
Moreover, the night view at various places was crowded with people,
especially at the famous momiji spot, Eikando, where the line was incredible,
with people waiting in multiple layers.
With this tour,
we could enter the grounds without waiting in line,
and it even included a meal, which was very nice.
I usually have some picky preferences,
but I enjoyed all the dishes.
I would like to use this service again next year.

初めて紅葉の京都へ。
しかも夜間拝観はどこもかしこも人がいっぱいで
特にもみじの名所　永観堂の拝観列は凄まじく
何重にも人が並んでいました。
こちらのツアーでは
その列に並ばずにすぐ境内に入れ
しかもお食事までついていて　とても良かったです。
意外と好き嫌いがあるのですが
どのお料理も美味しく頂けました。
また来年も利用したいと思います。

It was a very good experience. The food was nice, but the dining environment is in a large banquet hall, where you need to kneel or sit cross-legged. If you are bringing elderly people, I recommend considering this. Additionally, when entering to pay respects, there is a separate entrance for groups, so you don't have to wait in line with the general public.

非常好的經驗，餐點不錯，只是用餐的環境是大宴會廳，需要跪坐或盤腿坐，如果有帶老人參加的話，建議列入考慮。另外進去參拜是走團體專用入口，不需要跟一般民眾排隊等入場~~~

On November 24, the busiest day in Kyoto, I was able to make a reservation despite it being just ten days prior. When I arrived 30 minutes before lunch at 11:00, there were incredible crowds of people! There was no staff at the parking lot reception, so I waited for about 15 minutes while taking photos before heading to the quiet venue. The meal was delicious. Since I skipped breakfast, I asked for a second serving of rice.

The tofu set meals around Nanzen-ji are quite expensive, and I wondered how long I would have to wait without a reservation. This place offered reasonable prices, and the admission fee was included. Dining in a quiet space without having to wait felt special, and my daughter and sister who accompanied me were very satisfied, saying, "You really found a great place!"

What concerned me was that there were many empty seats even after we finished our meals. I wondered if the many people who didn’t arrive (groups of 2 to 6) were stuck in traffic on this busy day. I worried about what would happen with the 1:00 PM seating.

As soon as I entered the temple grounds, there was a crowd, but the colorful and stunning autumn leaves were breathtaking! The colors in Arashiyama the day before were lackluster, so I thought, "As expected of the autumn leaves at Eikando!" The branches and leaves are well-maintained daily, which I believe contributes to their beauty.

I visited two places for the night illumination, but it’s definitely better during daylight. You can see the buildings and gardens, and enjoy the changing colors with the light. This tour might still be a hidden gem… It’s a win for those who participate!

11/24 京都が1年で1番混む日、10日前にも関わらず予約が取れました。
11時昼食の30分前に到着したところ、凄まじい人・人・人！
受付のある駐車場に担当者がおらず、15分ほど写真を撮りながら待ち、静かな会場へ。
お食事は美味しかったです。朝食抜きだったので、ご飯はおかわりをして頂戴しました。
南禅寺周辺の豆腐御膳は価格も高いし、何より予約無しではどれだけ待つ事になるか… お手頃価格、しかも拝観料込み。静かな空間での食事と並ばず入場、特別感が感じられて、同行の娘、妹も「よく見つけたね〜」と満足&満足。
気になったのは、食べ終わるまで御膳の用意あるも空席の方が多かったこと。到着されなかった多くの方々(2〜6人グループ)は渋滞だらけのこの日にマイカーで向ったのか？
13時の回もあるのにどうするんだろう？と老婆心ながら心配。
境内に入った途端、人混みではありましたが色鮮やかで見事な紅葉！前日の嵐山の色付きはイマイチだった
ので「さすが紅葉の永観堂！」細部まで毎日手入れをされているからこその枝木・紅葉だと思いました。
夜のライトアップも2ヶ所行きましたが、やっぱり陽の光があるうちですね。建物や庭の様子も判るし、光で変化する色合いも楽しめる。
このツアー、まだ知る人ぞ知るものかも… 参加した者勝ちです！

The weather was favorable, and the autumn leaves were wonderful.

I definitely want to go out again next year.

Unfortunately, I can't say that lunch was very delicious, which was quite disappointing.

天気に恵まれ、紅葉は素晴らしいものでした。

来年もぜひ出かけたいと思います。

昼食は、あまり美味しいとは言えずとても残念でした。

Before visiting here, I first went to Ninna-ji Temple, where I enjoyed the autumn leaves, the buildings, and the viewing of the Buddha statue that was opened to the public for the first time in 200 years. Compared to Ninna-ji, I felt a bit disappointed. However, the momiji gozen (autumn leaves set meal) I had for lunch was delicious.

ここを訪れる前に先に、仁和寺を訪れて、境内のもみじ、建物、200年ぶりの御開帳の仏像鑑賞など、観てきたので、仁和寺と比較して、少し、期待外れの感じでした。昼食で食べた紅葉ご膳は美味しくいただきました。

I visited Eikando on November 22, 2019. The autumn leaves were amazing! However, as a tour, the meeting place was difficult to find, and when I arrived before the meeting time, there was no staff present. The food, except for the yudofu, was cold, and sitting on cushions in a cramped space to eat from a tray was a bit uncomfortable. It must be challenging to accommodate a large number of people, but I think a little more creativity is needed.

2019.11.22に永観堂に行きました。紅葉は最高でした！
しかし、ツアーとしては集合場所が分かり難く、尚且つ集合時間前に着いたら係の人が誰もいませんでした。湯豆腐以外の食事が冷たかったのと狭いスペースで座布団に座って、お膳で食べるのは少々苦痛でした。大勢の人を受け入れるのは大変でしょうが、もう少し工夫が必要かと…。

The daytime view of Eikan-do was beautiful as well. At night, while passing by a long line, we were able to smoothly enjoy the illuminated autumn leaves reflecting in the pond, as well as a kaiseki meal, which felt very special. If you're planning to see the illumination, I highly recommend this.

昼間の永観寺もキレイでしたよ。夜は長蛇の列を横目に、予約してただけですいすいとライトアップの紅葉「池に映るもみじやイチョウ」や会席をゆっくり頂けて特別感がすごい感じました。是非ライトアップ観るならこれはオススメです。
