It was a long-awaited family trip. This year, it was warm, so I didn't have high expectations as the autumn leaves had just started. We had a dinner reservation at 7 PM, but we arrived around 5:40 PM and checked in. They asked us about our meal plans, and we were able to have dinner first without any wait, and then we could enter the grounds of Eikando Temple smoothly. The meal included yudofu and a colorful kaiseki, which I thought might be a bit small for men, but my husband was very satisfied. The autumn leaves here were truly wonderful, and the view of the leaves reflecting in the pond was indescribably beautiful. While enjoying the scenery, we were also able to sit and have sweet sake and ozoni. Since we finished a bit early, we quickly caught a taxi at the exit, took it to the nearest station, and from there, we smoothly returned to our accommodation by train. I believe I will never forget this view for the rest of my life.

家族で久々の旅行。今年は暖かいので、まだ紅葉は始まったばかりであまり期待していませんでした。19時からの食事の予約でしたが、5時40分くらいに到着してチェックインしたら、食事をどうしますかと聞いて下さり、先にお食事をいただき、その後ゆっくり並ぶ事なくそのまま永観堂の境内に入ることができました。食事も湯豆腐や、色とりどりの会席で、男の人にはちょっと少なめかと思いましたが主人は大変満足していました。紅葉もここは本当に素晴らしく、池に紅葉が映る景色は、言葉では表せないほど美しかったです。景色を眺めながら、甘酒とお善哉も座って頂くことができました。少し早めに終わらせたので、出口ですぐタクシーもつかまり、最寄りの駅までタクシーで行き、そこからは電車でスムーズに宿まで帰ることがてきました。この景色は一生忘れないと思います。

I went to Eikando, wondering if the autumn leaves were ready, and it was an emotional start. As soon as I entered, I was struck by the bright red leaves at the tips of the branches. When I looked at the trees as a whole, the vibrant mix of red, orange, and green was simply beautiful. I was moved by the different charm of it all, rather than just seeing everything in red.

紅葉はまだかなぁと思いながら永観堂に行きましたが、感動のスタートでした。
入った途端に、枝先の真っ赤な葉が目に入りました。そして、木を全体に見ると真っ赤、橙色、緑とそれは素敵な彩りです。
全部が真っ赤とは又違う趣に感動しました。

I was very satisfied with the kindness of the staff at Eikando, the meals, and the illumination.

Entering the reception from the parking lot was a bit nerve-wracking since it was my first time, but the driver from MK Taxi checked everything in advance, which made me feel at ease.

I definitely want to visit again next year.

永観堂のスタッフの方々の優しさや、食事、ライトアップも満足でした。

駐車場から入る受付も、初めてで不安でしたが、mkタクシーのドライバーの方が事前に降りて確認してくださったりと全てが満足でした。

来年も是非、伺いたいと思います。

It was a scorching day with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees, but here, a cool and pleasant breeze was blowing. I made a reservation for noon and arrived around 11:30, but my seat was already prepared, so I didn't have to wait. The food was delicious, and I was able to spend a relaxing time in nature. After resting at my seat for a while, I took a stroll nearby, and it was just the right time to head back for the bus (everyone gathered, so we departed early). I thought the riverbed would be along the Kamo River, but considering the coolness and the sense of relaxation, I'm glad I signed up for this tour.

気温が35度を超す猛暑日でしたが、こちらは涼しく気持ちいい風が吹いていました。12時の予約で送迎を申し込み11時半くらいに到着しましたが席は用意されていたので待たされることは無かったです。お食事もおいしく、自然の中でゆったりとした時間を過ごすことができました。しばらく席で休んだ後近くを散歩してちょうどよい感じで帰りのバス時間となりました(みんな揃ったので早めの出発でした)。川床は鴨川沿い、と思っていたのですが涼しさと癒やされ感を考えたらこちらのツアーを申し込んでよかったと思います。

On the day of the event, it was unfortunately rainy and felt a bit cool, but I was able to escape reality for a moment while enjoying a delicious meal (I chose sukiyaki) at a riverside location with an outstanding view, accompanied by the dance and stories of the maiko. (Laughs) Of course, photography was also perfectly allowed!

I heard that out of the five riverside venues, four were open for guests, and we had four maiko come to us: Umetae and Fumikou from Kamishichiken, and Kikuyae and Kanesue from Miyagawa-cho. (Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn't meet Fumikou... so sad.)

Above all, I was really pleased with the attentiveness and care of the staff. I highly recommend this place! Ladies! (Laughs)

当日は生憎の雨で少し涼しく感じられる天気でしたが、抜群のロケーションのなか川床で美味しい食事（すき焼きを選択）を頂きながら舞妓さんの舞やお話しでひととき現実逃避してきました～。（笑）　もちろん写真撮影もバッチリいけますよ！

聞いたところ5つある川床のうち4つ入客あった様で舞妓さんも、上七軒から梅たえさん・ふみ幸さん　宮川町から菊弥江さん・叶季（かなすえ）さんの4名が来てくれてました。（時間の都合でふみ幸さんとはお目にかかれませんでしたが・・・悲）


なにより、スタッフのみなさんの気づかい心くばりも嬉しかったですね～・・・ここ、お薦めですよ！奥様～♪（笑）

Since it was a particularly busy time, being able to shortcut through the long line saved me time and was very helpful. If I have the chance to go again, I would like to use it again.

特に混雑している時期だったので長蛇の列の中をショートカットできたのは時短になり助かりました。
行く機会あればまた利用したいと思います。

During the autumn foliage season, it gets very crowded, so I joined a tour. In front of Eikando, there was already a long line of general visitors by the evening... It was so crowded that even getting to a place to eat was quite difficult. After the meal, I was able to enter without waiting in line, which allowed me to make good use of my time, and I was really glad about that.

紅葉時期はとても混むのでツアーに参加しました。
永観堂前は一般の方々で夕方から既に長蛇の列…食事の場所に行くのも大変なくらい混雑してました。
食後は、並ぶ事もなく入ることが出来て、時間を有効に使えて本当に良かったです。

I participated in the November holiday. I had a reservation for lunch starting at 12:30, but due to traffic conditions, I arrived significantly late, around 13:30. However, the staff was waiting at the meeting point, and I was able to enjoy my meal without any issues. The meal was delicious both visually and in taste. However, since it was served in a traditional style on tatami mats, I found it a bit difficult to sit comfortably as I can't bend my legs very well.

After the meal, I enjoyed the temple treasures exhibition. Following the designated route allowed me to visit several halls of the temple that are usually not accessible, which was a delight. Along the way, I was treated to beautiful views of the autumn leaves and the garden.

I felt that the entrance process without waiting in line was a bit unclear. While it is true that there is no need to line up to purchase admission tickets, it would be better if there were clearer instructions for those who can proceed directly from this point.

11月の連休に参加しました。
12:30の昼食開始回の予約でしたが、交通事情で到着が大幅に遅れ、13:30頃に到着しましたが、係の人が集合場所で待っていてくださって問題なくお食事を頂けました。目にも舌にも美味しいお膳でした。ただ、お座敷にお膳のスタイルなので、脚があまり曲がらない自分はちょっと座りずらく感じました。

お食事後の寺宝展も順路通りに進むと普段はあまり入り込めないお寺のいくつものお堂を巡る事が出来て楽しめました。巡るあいだに紅葉やお庭の美しい風景が次々に現れて堪能致しました。

並ばずに入場できる、あたりはちょっとわかりにくかったように思いました。確かに拝観券を購入する列に並ぶ必要はないので、そういう方はこちらから進んでくださいというわかりやすいご案内があったらよりよいのではないかと思います。

I use it every year. I think the food is good for the price. It was served in a three-tiered box. The best part is that you can approach the shrine from the side without having to wait in line. Even when there's a huge queue, you can get in right away!

毎年利用しています。食事は値段の割にはいいと思います。3段のお重になってました。何がいいってやはり並ばなくて横から境内にアプローチできることです。凄い行列ができていてもすっと入ることができますよ！

This course is definitely recommended for those who want to see it not only lit up but also during the day. When I tried to leave right before the closing time at 5 PM, there was a long line in front of the ticket booth for the light-up. I had a brief chat with the monk who was organizing the line, and when I mentioned I had a dinner reservation, he said that was the smartest choice.

However, it was hard to find the meeting tent among the crowd. Since it was before the meeting time, there were no staff around, and there was a sign saying that the Kyoto vegetables and medicine were finished, which made me anxious. The dining area is in a large building, so it would be clearer to use that entrance as the meeting point. This way, the staff wouldn’t have to navigate through the crowd to guide customers, making it more efficient.

Fortunately, it was a warm day, but on a cold day, the building would be much better. I didn’t quite understand why the meeting place was set up in a tent. The meal was quite good, and I was satisfied with the portion size. Considering the price for such a meal in Kyoto, it was reasonable. If I go to see the light-up again, I would use this service.

ライトアップだけでなく昼間も見たい人には絶対おすすめのコースですね。退所時間ぎりぎりの5時まで粘って外に出ようとしたらライトアップの券売所の前は二重三重の列でした。列の整理をなさっていた御坊様とちょっとお話ししましたが、お食事の予約がしてあると言ったらそれが一番利口とおっしゃってました。
ただ、その人ごみの中に集合テントがあってわかりにくかったです。集合時間前だったので係員もいないし、京野や薬は終わりましたという張り紙があって不安になるし・・・。食事する場所は大きな建物なのでその入り口を集合場所にしていただいたほうがわかりやすいしお店の方もぞろぞろ人ごみをかき分けて客を案内しなくていいので合理的なのではないでしょうか？
幸い、暖かい日だったので良かったですが寒い日だったらなおさら建物のほうがいいですね。何のために集合場所をわざわざテントにするのかちょっと理解できなかったです。
食事は普通においしかったです。量的にも満足。
京都でこのような食事をしたらと考えるとお値段的にも相応でした。
またライトアップに行くとしたら利用します。

I went during the three-day weekend in November. The line was so long that it couldn't fit into the parking lot before the gates opened. After having a meal, I was able to enter smoothly and enjoy the beautiful lights. Considering the long wait in the cold, I was glad I made a reservation. However, due to the overwhelming crowd, I had trouble finding the meeting point.

11月の3連休に行きました。開門までに行列は駐車場に入りきれなくなるぐらいでした。食事をしてからスムーズに入場できライトアップを堪能できました。寒い中、あの長い行列に並ぶことを考えると予約してよかったと思います。ただし余りの混雑で待ち合わせ場所がよくわからなかったです。

On the last day, I was able to enter without waiting in that long line, enjoy a leisurely meal, and also experience the autumn foliage illumination at Eikando and the performance of gagaku music.

最終日にあの長い列に並ばずに入れて、食事もゆっくりでき、永観堂の紅葉ライトアップと雅楽の演奏も楽しむことができました。

The autumn leaves are nearing their end, and although the peak crowds have passed, it's still best to join a tour to efficiently see the popular spots. The weather was nice, so I walked from Keage Station to Nanzen-ji. I wasn't sure where the meeting place was, but the staff kindly helped me.

The yudofu meal was somewhat like a bento box, but the portion was just right, and the yudofu was warm and delicious. I arrived a bit early, but they let me in, and it was nice not to have to worry too much about meal times.

You don't need to buy a ticket for admission, and you won't waste time struggling to find a place to eat amidst the crowds. With the freedom to gather and disperse at your own pace, I highly recommend this experience.

紅葉はそろそろ終わりで、混雑もピークを過ぎたとはいえ、それでも大混雑の名所を効率よく見るにはツアーに限ります。
天気も良かったので蹴上駅から南禅寺を経由して徒歩で現地に向かいました、集合場所が良くわからなかったのですが、係の人が親切に教えてくれました。
湯豆腐の御膳は中身はお弁当っぽいですが、量も程よく、湯豆腐は温かく美味しくいただきました、早く着いてしまったのですが通してもらえました、食事の時間はあまり気にしなくてよいのが助かりました。
拝観券を買わなくてよいし、混雑で昼食もままならずいたずらに時間を使ってしまうこともなく、自由集合自由解散なので自分のペースで見られます。おすすめです。

Fortunately, that day was not very crowded, so there was no line to purchase the admission tickets. After enjoying the autumn leaves, it was nice to have a leisurely meal, which served as a nice break before heading to the next location.

たまたま、その日は、余り混んでいなかった為、参拝券を購入する列が出来ていなかったのですが、紅葉を堪能した後に、ゆっくり、お食事を頂けたのは、次の場所に向かう前の一休みにもなり、良かったです。

It was great to enter earlier than the general reception and listen to the explanations about the temple and the garden from the gardener. It was very different from just sightseeing. They also recommended great spots for taking photos, and I was able to take beautiful pictures, which made me very satisfied!

一般の受付より早く入って、お寺の説明や、庭師さんによる庭の説明
を聞き、ただ見学するのとは違ってとても良かった。
写真を撮るオススメ場所も教えて貰えて、綺麗な写真も撮れて大満足！

I was satisfied that I could enter without waiting and that the kaiseki cuisine was fairly good. However, despite having a dinner reservation at 7 PM, I repeatedly communicated my reservation time at the restaurant's reception, but they insisted, "We are ready for you." As a result, I ended up having my meal at 5:30 PM. This aspect was very disappointing.

並ばず入れた事、懐石料理がそこそこ良かった事は満足でした。19時から夕食予約してたのに食事処の受付で何度も予約時間を伝えたのに「ご用意出来ております。」の一点張りでした。17時半からの食事となりました。この点、たいへん残念でした。

The temple treasure exhibition was open until 4 PM, so I visited during the day. It was great to be guided in the evening without having to stand in that long line.

寺宝展は夕方4時までだったので昼間にも見物しました。夜はあの長い列に並ぶ事なく案内され良かったです。

We participated as a group of seven women. We were surprised by the unexpectedly large crowd. As expected from the world-renowned tourist city of Kyoto! However, we were able to enter without waiting in line for the admission tickets, so we weren't tired and it didn't affect our sightseeing the next day.

One disappointing thing was the amount of rice. Since the side dishes paired well with the rice, we quickly finished our bowls. We were all saying we wanted another serving. Since this was the case for women, it might be too little for men. I think it's quite challenging to cook without wasting food, but it would have been nice to have a bit more rice... that was the only disappointment.

The night view at Eikando was mystical and wonderful. I think this is a recommended plan for those going to Kyoto for autumn foliage viewing. Thank you for a delightful time.

女性グループ七名で参加しました。
予想以上の人波で驚きました。さすが世界的観光都市京都！でも、拝観券を買う列に並ばずに入場できましたので、疲れは残らず、翌日の観光にも響きませんでした。

一つ残念なのは、ご飯の量ですね。
おかずがご飯に合うものばかりのため、箸が進んで、お椀がすぐ空っぽに。
もう一膳欲しいなぁと口々言い合っていました。女性でそうでしたので、男性には少なすぎるかもしれないですね。
なかなか残飯を出さずに炊くのも大変だと思いますが、もうちょっとご飯があれば...とそこだけ残念でした。

夜の永観堂は神秘的で素敵でした。
京都に紅葉狩りに行く人にはオススメの企画だと思います。楽しいひと時をありがとうございました。

The meal was as I expected, so I didn't have high hopes. However, considering that I waited over an hour to get in, I decided to think of the FastPass fee as worth it, and I was still satisfied.

食事は、思った通りで余り期待してませんでしたが、1時間以上並んで入るのを思えば、ファストパス料金と割り切って申し込みましたが、それでも満足です。

I arrived much earlier than my reservation time, but they kindly guided me to dinner early, allowing me to enjoy my meal at a leisurely pace. I was also able to fully enjoy the beautiful lighting, making for a wonderful experience! I'm really glad I made the reservation.

予約の時間よりだいぶ早く着いたけど、早めにごはんに案内していただいて、ゆっくりご飯の時間も取れて、ライトアップも充分満喫できて最高な時間を過ごす事が出来ました！予約してほんと良かったです。

I heard that it was possible to visit smoothly without waiting in line, so I went to the meeting place. The parking lot was crowded, and it was quite a struggle to find the tent. There was a long line filling the parking lot. When I was guided in past the line, I felt that I was glad to have signed up for this tour. I think it would have taken over an hour and a half to get in if I had to wait in line.

並ばずスムーズに拝観可能と聞いて、集合場所に行きました。駐車場は、人だらけで、テントを探すのに一苦労。駐車場一杯に行列ができていました。その横を案内されて入場する際には、このツアーに申し込んでよかったと感じました。もし行列に並ぶと入場までに１時間半以上かかっていたように思います。

The autumn leaves were beautiful, and Eikando was amazing on the best day for viewing them! However, the meal was disappointing...

First, the dining hall was not very clean, which was disappointing. It felt like an old community center, and the food was already laid out on the trays, making it cramped with the people sitting very close together. The tempura was cold, and the tofu in the yudofu was just average.

At 3000 yen, it felt expensive.

Although the autumn leaves at Eikando were at their peak, which eased my disappointment a bit, I wouldn't want to go with this plan again.

最高の紅葉日和で紅葉も綺麗で永観堂は最高でした！！
ただ食事が・・・・
まず会館があまり綺麗でなくてがっかり。
古い公民館のような建物で、食事もすでにお膳に並べられていて、しかも窮屈で隣の人ともすごく近い並べ方でした。
冷たい天ぷらで、湯豆腐の豆腐も普通の味でした。
これで3000円は高く感じました。

永観堂が紅葉の見頃だったので残念な気持ちも少し和らぎましたが、このプランでは行きたくありません。

During the three-day weekend in November, the light-up at Eikando was met with an incredible line. It seems some people waited over two hours. The gates close at 9 PM, so normally the reception ends at 8:30 PM, but due to the large crowd, those who arrived after 8 PM were told that even if they lined up, they wouldn't be able to enter before closing time, so they weren't allowed to queue.

Even for dining, the city center was crowded everywhere, but with this plan, we were able to enjoy a relaxed meal and visit without waiting in line. Since I had elderly parents with me, I was really glad I made this reservation.

The food was delicious, and the illuminated autumn leaves were incredibly beautiful. If you're planning to visit during the busy autumn foliage season, I highly recommend this plan.

１１月の三連休という事で、永観堂のライトアップはすごい行列でした。二時間以上待つこともあったみたいです。夜九時閉門なので、通常は八時半に受付終了なのですが、あまりに人が多くて、八時以降に到着した人は今から並んでも閉門までに入れませんとのことで、並ばせてももらえない状況。

食事するにも、市内中心部はどこも混んで並ぶ状況でもありましたが、このプランでは、ゆったりご飯を食べて、並ばずに拝観できる特典付き。高齢の両親もいたので、ホントに頼んでおいてよかったです。

お料理もおいしかったですし、ライトアップされた紅葉もとても美しいものでした。
混雑する紅葉の時期に行くなら、ぜひオススメしたいプランです。

I visited during the busiest three-day weekend! Despite a long line that was already two and a half hours long, I was able to enter without waiting at all.

既に2時間半の長蛇の列が出来ている中、全く待たずに中に入ることが出来ました。

永観堂の紅葉は最高です。

The reservation date coincided perfectly with the peak of the autumn foliage, allowing us to fully enjoy the colorful maple leaves! I went by car, but it was quite challenging to find parking... I recommend using public transportation! I had no complaints about the meal, but it was a bit disappointing that we couldn't enjoy our meal in the banquet hall while admiring the autumn leaves.

予約日がまさに紅葉の見頃最盛期となり色とりどりのモミジを満喫出来ました！マイカーで行ったのですが駐車場探しには苦労します…公共交通機関がお勧めです！
食事の内容に不満はありませんでしたが会館大広間での食事で〜紅葉観賞をしながら…と云うのは叶わず少々残念でした！

I made a reservation for dinner at 19:00 on Saturday, November 24th.

As mentioned in other reviews, I followed the staff from the reception and was quickly guided to the dining area, where I received the admission ticket for Eikando and was told, "Please enter through that gate after your meal." I was then shown to my seat. The meal was a kaiseki course served in three tiers with yudofu (hot tofu). The taste was not bad, but it was quite ordinary.

At first, when I passed through the gate before entering Eikando, there was a long line right in front of me, and I had no idea where the reception area was. However, when I asked someone nearby who was wearing a samue (traditional work clothing), they told me, "Turn right ahead, and you'll find a tent." At the reception, there were three people ahead of us, but no staff was present, so we waited quite a while. I ended up calling the contact number provided. Finally, I got through, and they apologized, saying there were many people and they were responding in order, asking us to wait a little longer for the staff to arrive. However, the staff came right away. Still, since we had to wait a bit, I couldn't help but think that it didn't seem worth the high price we paid.

Aside from that, they mentioned on the day that the wait would be between two and three hours, which I thought was a good plan for those coming from afar. Of course, Eikando was very crowded, but the autumn leaves, the beautiful moonlight, and the Gagaku music were all wonderful.

11/24(土)に19:00の食事で予約して利用しました。

他のクチコミの通り、受付から係の方の後ろに続いてあっという間に食事場所に案内されそこで永観堂の入場券をもらい「食事が終わったらあの門から入ってください」と説明され、席に案内されました。食事は湯豆腐付きの三段重になった会席料理でした。味は悪くなく、いたって普通といったところです。
最初、永観堂に入る前の門をくぐったら目の前に長蛇の列があり、受付の場所などどこにあるか全くわかりませんでしたが、近くの永観堂の作務衣？を着ていた人に聞くと「この先を右に曲がってテントがあるところです」と教えてくれました。受付では、私達より先に３人の方がいましたが、係の方はおらず、随分待ったので、示されていた連絡先に電話しました。ようやく繋がり、人が多く順次対応しているので申し訳ないがもう少し係員が行くまで待って欲しいと言われましたが、係の方はすぐ来ました。ただ、それまでちょっと待たされたので、高いお金出して来ている意味がないんじゃない？と思ってしまいました。
それ以外は、当日、2時間半から3時間待ちと言っていたので、遠方から来た者からすると良いプランだと思いました。
もちろん永観堂の中は、大混雑でしたが、紅葉とライトアップに綺麗な月、そして雅楽、とても良かったです。

The best part was being able to enter without waiting in line! The day we went was a Saturday, and it was so crowded that people were waiting for 2 to 2.5 hours. I'm also grateful to the person from JTB who informed us about the plan for Eikando. If we hadn't known, we would have missed the beautiful light-up at Eikando. The food was just the right taste and portion, and we enjoyed it deliciously.

The path in the garden isn't very wide, so when there are a lot of people, it can become blocked. Since I opted for the premium option, I was able to enjoy it comfortably, which was great.

お庭の通路あまり広くないので、たくさん人がみえると、とうせんぼになってしまう。プレミアムにしたのでゆったり鑑賞出来、良かったです。

It was a long line, but I was able to see it without waiting. Just thinking about standing in that line made me feel like I probably wouldn't wait due to its popularity.
The lighting was wonderfully beautiful, and the food was delicious.
However, the room was cold, and sitting in the tatami room for zazen made my feet cold.
Also, the rice was cold, so I think it would have been perfect if it had been warm.

長座の列でしたが、並ぶことなく拝見できました。あの列に並ぶと思うと、たぶん待たないなって思うほどの人気でした。
ライトアップは素晴らしくきれいで、お料理も美味しかったです。
ただお部屋が寒かったのと、お座敷の座禅で、足が寒かったです。
お料理もご飯は冷めていたので、温かいものだと最高だと思いました。
