We decided to take a ride on the trolley to go down the Hozu River, and while researching, we found a set deal with unlimited rides on Hankyu. Since Arashiyama was too crowded, we took the Hankyu to a place near Kawaramachi for lunch. As a result, we were able to eat in a more relaxed atmosphere, which was great. The view from the trolley was also satisfying, even though the weather was unfortunate. I deducted one star because the QR code didn't scan properly. There were times when it was difficult to connect, which was quite a hassle.

There were moments when the river narrowed or had significant drops, but that was also quite pleasant. For those seeking thrills, I think rafting would be a better option.

There were three boatmen who took turns rowing, as it is physically demanding work. It was very impressive to see them earnestly guiding the guests in English, especially since most of the customers were foreigners. Their efforts to entertain the guests, often with laughter, were evident.

Along the way, you can see rare wild birds and a trolley train, and you can leisurely enjoy the picturesque mountains and rivers that resemble Japan's original landscapes. However, I wouldn't recommend participating in the height of summer or winter (I heard that a roof is put up in the summer). Depending on the travel time, some people might get a bit bored, and I experienced a little seasickness.

Went with my family, since we came the service was very efficient, no waiting line and it was a private reservation so we had the boat by ourselves.

The view is beautiful, the food was really good and had a lot of variety of Japanese food, the presentation of everything was really well thought!

There is also a convenience boat, which selled drinks, grilled squid and dango. It was very nice! 1 hour of boat trip but it was totally worth it.

I was looking forward to the Hozu River boat ride. I had a reservation for the 10 AM departure, but since I arrived early at the boarding area, I was able to change to the 9 AM departure. To my surprise, the boat had Makita fans installed at the front and back! I heard that the boatman had personally set them up as a trial. With temperatures exceeding 38°C in Kyoto, having fans made a huge difference, even at 9 AM! We were able to enjoy the nearly two-hour river ride comfortably. The boat's convenience store was also operating, and I was able to indulge in the oden I wanted to try. On June 26, I participated in the English tour with three others. "Thank you, Nick. It was fun."

Overall, it was good. Here are some points of concern:
1) We gathered more than 30 minutes early for the 9:00 AM departure from the Kyoto VIP Lounge (check-in ended 10 minutes prior), but the bus actually arrived and started at 9:30 AM.
2) I wanted more time at Nara Park. Playing with the deer was the main reason for participating, but we had no time at all after visiting Todai-ji.
3) The tours from Osaka and Kyoto should be separated. The driver was too concerned about their working hours, which made it difficult for the guide. If there wasn't a 1 to 2-hour round trip from Osaka, the tour could have been more relaxed, allowing customers to enjoy it more leisurely (especially for foreign tours). This way, we could allocate an additional 30 minutes at each point.
