I was planning to wrap up my last day in Okinawa with a tour and then head straight to the airport, but… I was told that since it was the first day of a three-day weekend and a festival, I might not be able to return on time, which was concerning. However, they offered various consultations and gave me advice.

In the end, I decided to leave the tour at the last sightseeing spot, the Churaumi Aquarium, and took a shuttle bus to the airport, successfully finishing my trip!

Even though I had to get off partway, it turned out to be a very enjoyable time. Thank you so much!!

沖縄最終日をツアーで締めくくり、そのまま飛行機で帰る予定でしたが…
その日は三連休初日とお祭りが重なってるので時間通りに帰ってこれないかもしれないと言われ困っていると、いろいろ相談に乗ってくれ、アドバイスもしてくれました。
結局、最後の見学地の美ら海水族館でツアーを離脱しシャトルバスで空港まで行き、無事に旅行を終わらせることができました!

Cycling after 20 to 30 years was fun, but it was disappointing that the roads were confusing and I couldn't get to Star Sand Beach. I also didn't have enough time at the café to enjoy sweets, only having juice instead, which was a letdown.

Since I was pregnant, I decided to use this service this time. I thought it would be a waste to just see the mangroves and Yufu Island in Iriomote Island and then go home. I was a bit worried that the morning tour on the last day would be rushed, but I ended up having a very fulfilling time at the end of my trip. Both Sefa Utaki and the Gangala Valley were mystical and felt like I had entered another world, so I'm glad I went. At Sefa Utaki, I also visited Chinen Cape early on, and the sea was very beautiful and refreshing. In the Gangala Valley, I had a great experience walking together with a specialized guide who provided explanations. On the bus, the guide gave various explanations about the sightseeing spots and the routes we took, which made it fun and helped me learn about Okinawa.

最終日の午前ツアーで慌ただしくなっちゃうかなぁと思いましたが、旅の最後にとても充実した時間を過ごせました。
斎場御嶽もガンガラーの谷も神秘的で別世界に来たようで行ってよかったです。
斎場御嶽では早めにまわり知念岬もみてきましたが海がとてもきれいで気持ちよかったです。
ガンガラーの谷では専門ガイドさんと説明を受けながら一緒に歩き良い体験ができました。
バスの中ではガイドさんが見学箇所や通る道で色々な説明をしてくれて沖縄の事がわかり楽しかったです。

I'm glad I was able to efficiently visit the tourist spots in Okinawa. It felt a bit rushed, but I suppose that's to be expected with limited time. The main attraction, the Churaumi Aquarium, was especially great. Both the guide and the driver were very nice people.

So cute! He should muster up the courage and confess (laughs). I wonder if he's working energetically today. I want to go see him again. I also got to listen to the sanshin, and the lunch in Yufuin was delicious. Since then, I've become hooked on the oil miso and even bought some as souvenirs, which made my bag heavy (laughs). Since I had an elderly companion, we took the bus around Taketomi. It was a bit of a hectic trip, but I was able to truly experience Okinawa.

Before departure, you receive an explanation and your ticket at the counter inside the island terminal. The tickets are collected each time, so be careful not to lose them. The explanation was thorough, leaving no room for confusion.

The ferry has free seating, and of course, the window seats fill up first. Everything runs on time, so as long as you make it, you won't be left behind, but arriving early will get you better seats.

During the sightseeing tour of Iriomote Island, I learned various things about the island while enjoying fun stories. I was lucky enough to see a crested serpent eagle. It's said that the Iriomote wildcat is nocturnal and rarely seen. Personally, I enjoyed the mangrove tour as well, but the bus tour to Yubu Island after the sightseeing was also fun. The driver's stories were entertaining.

On Yubu Island, we moved around on water buffaloes. There were fast and slow ones, so which one you ride is a matter of luck. The front seat offers a great view of the buffalo, but be careful as there might be splashes during their bathroom breaks. I enjoyed the free walk to Nishizaki Pier. It might be tough at Hoshi no Sunahama, but the pier offered a beautiful view of the sea.

After that, I took the ferry at my preferred time back to the island terminal. It was a very enjoyable day.

出発前に離島ターミナル内のカウンターで説明とチケットを受け取ります。チケットは都度回収されるので無くさないように。説明は充分にされ、不明点がないほどしっかりされました。

フェリーは自由席。やはり窓側から埋まります。時間ぴったりに全て旅の計画は進むので間に合えば置いていかれることはない、けど早い方がいい席は取れます。

西表島の遊覧では楽しい話とともに西表島の様々なことが知れます。運良くカンムリワシ見れました。イリオモテヤマネコは夜行性で見れることはほぼないそう。私的にはマングローブツアーも楽しかったですが、遊覧降りてから由布島までのバス観光もたのしかったです。運転手さんの話がおもしろい。

由布島では水牛にのって移動。早い子、遅い子様々でどの子に乗れるかは運次第。1番前の席は見渡せ、牛がしっかり見えますが、排泄シーンでは水が飛ぶことがあるので注意。
由布島では唯一触れ合える水牛のルイくんと写真撮れます。無料の小さな写真と有料の立派な写真が買えたり。この島で昼食、お弁当見たいなごはんで美味しかったです。その後はすこし自由時間をとり、また水牛にのり、バスに乗り、船に乗り。

竹富島では申し込んだプランでフリータイム。
フリーウォークのプランでしたが、集落の入り口までは歩いて10分ほど。そんなに遠くないです。
西桟橋までならフリーウォークで十分楽しめました。星の砂の浜だと厳しいかもしれませんが、桟橋でもとってもきれいな海を見れました。

その後は好きな時間のフェリーにのり、離島ターミナルへ。とっても楽しい1日でした。

Most of the participants were from overseas. The Japanese participants returned to the bus on time, but I was surprised by the laxity of the overseas participants regarding time. I always go to Okinawa, but this was my first time using a bus tour (^o^) The driver and the guide were very warm and always checked in with us, which made me feel secure participating in the tour. The guide was very kind, had a great personality, and was cheerful, which was wonderful! We visited the Churaumi Aquarium, Manzamo, Ryukyu Village, and Okashi Goten, finishing at Banta Cafe. If I had driven myself, I would have surely gotten tired from driving, but it was so relaxing to be gently swayed by the bus, and the time flew by. The Okinawan music during the ride was soothing and truly pleasant. Although the time was limited, I was very satisfied. Unfortunately, it was rainy at Kouri Island and Manzamo, which was a bit disappointing. However, Manzamo really looked like an elephant's trunk, and it was interesting. The best part was American Village. It felt like experiencing a foreign atmosphere, and it was really great. The buildings were wonderful, like a different world.

Choosing the dinner plan with Sam's Steak was a good decision. They cooked the steak right in front of us, and it came with a performance, which was fun.

It became a great memory.

小宇利島と万座毛はあいにくの雨で、少し残念でした。でも万座毛は本当にゾウさんのお鼻にそっくりで、面白かったです。1番良かったのがアメリカンビレッジです。雰囲気が異国にいるみたいに体験できて凄く良かったです。別世界みたいで建物が凄く素敵でした。

Personally, I found the time allocation just right. To conclude, the Nakama River cruise, which I had the least expectations for, turned out to be the best. The guide was wonderful, and we stopped to look for wild birds, sometimes even turning back. Additionally, the bus ride from Nakama River to Yufu Island was great, with the driver's talk about daily life and shopping on Iriomote Island being enjoyable. When we spotted a crested serpent eagle along the way, the bus stopped so we could take a good look, which was very satisfying. 今回は初めての西表島だったので総合的にはよいツアーだったと思います。次はアクティビティに参加したいです。

The weather was favorable on the day of the tour, so I was satisfied to cross to Yufu Island on a water buffalo under the blue sky, just as I had envisioned. The bus driver's stories on Iriomote Island were also interesting, and on Taketomi Island, I appreciated being able to choose the ferry time back to Ishigaki Island, allowing for more freedom in my activities.

I didn't book a rental bicycle for Taketomi Island as part of the tour, but I was able to rent one from a shop at Taketomi Port. Since it was a time of strong sunlight (mid-September), I recommend using a bicycle for getting around the island.

I participated in the course at Saijō-ōgū and the Gangala Valley.
1. I was interested in visiting a place I had never been before.
2. Coincidentally, my accommodation was at a pickup location, and most importantly, I could be taken to the airport, which gave me peace of mind for managing my schedule since I planned to return on an afternoon flight.
3. Reservations were possible until the day before, making it easy to plan around the weather.
4. Since it was a guided tour, I thought I could learn about Okinawa while on the bus.
For these reasons, I chose this tour.

Unfortunately, when we arrived at Saijō-ōgū, it was pouring rain, so our group with small children decided to skip entering and instead watched a video at the museum, did some shopping, and enjoyed the view from the cape (the four-star rating is solely due to the unfortunate weather).
At Gangala Valley, the guide provided an interesting experience. They prepared cold barley tea and insect repellent spray for those who wanted it before departure, and they considered the walking pace, allowing my five-year-old and my son and daughter-in-law, who were carrying a one-year-old, to participate.
On the bus, the guide shared various stories about Okinawa, which helped us learn more about the area.

It was a tour that I felt glad to have participated in.

ガンガラーの谷は、そこのガイドさんが案内してくださり、とても、興味深いものでした。冷たい麦茶の水筒、出発前の希望者への虫よけスプレーなど、準備してくださっており、歩くペースも配慮され、５歳の子どもも、１歳児を抱っこした状態の息子夫婦も参加できました。
バスの中では、ガイドさんが、色々な沖縄のお話をしてくださり、沖縄について知ることができました。

参加してよかった、と、思えるツアーでした。

追伸、ニライカナイ橋を今回は？、通ってもらえたため、見たかった場所だったので、ラッキーでした。

The shuttle service to the hotel and the tour that took us around various places was excellent! We participated with four people, including elementary school and preschool children, and I was grateful that they arranged our seats together. The time spent at each sightseeing spot wasn't as long as it would be on an individual trip, but we had plenty of fun and were very satisfied. Although lunch wasn't included, the guide mentioned that we could eat on the bus, so we were able to buy snacks and eat while traveling. The guide's stories were engaging, and we had a very meaningful day. I highly recommend it!
