I boarded the bus at the bus stop near Makishi Station, which is close to the hotel. On the way, we picked up other passengers while listening to the gentle-voiced guide as we headed to the memorial site. Since it was early in the morning, the memorial site was quiet with few people, making it a great place to visit. After that, at Okinawa World, we watched the Eisa performance, explored the limestone caves, and strolled through the Kingdom Village while purchasing souvenirs within about two hours. We decided to have our meal at the airport cafeteria and spent as much time as possible exploring. I wished we had more time... but we had to head to the airport. It was a very fulfilling last day. The guide's singing was also nice. For reference, I think purchasing souvenirs at the airport shops is sufficient.

You couldn't cover this much with a rental car, but it was a fulfilling day packed with sightseeing! Both the driver and the guide were kind and attentive; I'm really glad I participated!

Since we arrived at the airport in the early afternoon, I chose this plan that allows for sightseeing until the evening instead of going straight to the hotel. I thought it was perfect for experiencing Okinawa's unique features, such as the awamori distillery, traditional townscapes, and crafts, all in a compact way. The guide was very good at sharing stories, and I had a lot of fun learning things I wouldn't have known if I had just rented a car. It was a shame it rained. I read that if you show your disability certificate at the counter when applying, you can get a discount, but I was told it was impossible since the payment had already been processed by card. Although it's a small amount, I felt a bit like I lost out.

At the Churaumi Aquarium, we had two hours of free time, but it took an hour to find another restaurant because the one we went to was crowded. I think it would be helpful to have a notice about bringing lunch.
The guide wasn't very talkative, and I wished they had shared more about Okinawa. Because of that, it seemed like most people were sleeping on the bus.
I thought the time allocation for the rest of the activities was good.

I was keeping an eye on the weather forecast, and sure enough, it was pouring rain from the morning. The wind was strong too. I was worried about what would happen, but the large catamaran from Ishigaki Island to Iriomote Island was stable with little rocking. However, I got completely soaked while switching to the cruise ship. The unique roots of the mangroves were hard to see due to the high water levels, but thanks to that, we were able to dock at a pier where we could see the massive Sakishima suou tree, which is said to be 400 to 600 years old! The glass-bottom boat tour was canceled afterward, but instead, we had a tour of Taketomi Island by ox cart, which turned out to be quite nice. The weather improved a bit in the second half, and I was able to enjoy myself.

天気予報を気にしつつ当日に至ったが、やはり朝から大雨。風も強い。どうなるのか心配だったが石垣島から西表島までは大型の双胴船で揺れも少ない。ただその後、クルーズ船に乗り換える間にずぶ濡れ。マングローブの独特の根っこは増水であまりよく見えなかったが、そのお陰で樹齢400年とも600年とも云われるサキシマスオウの大木の見られる船着場に着岸できた！その後のグラスボートは中止になったが、代わりに牛車による竹富島巡りとなりこれはこれで中々良かった。後半はお天気も少し回復し、楽しめた。

The day before, I happened to visit the Okinawa Prefectural Museum, where I saw exhibits on Okinawa's unique plants, as well as displays about sacred sites and the noro (shrine maidens), which helped me understand the guide's explanations more deeply. Names of people and places in Okinawa can be quite difficult to grasp, but the bus guide explained everything slowly and clearly, and their advice on clothing was very helpful. The tour with the local guide at the Valley of Gangala was even more interesting than I had imagined, and I’m really glad I participated.
