I visited Iriomote Island, where I got my scuba diving license during my student days, for the first time in 30 years, this time with my child.

We traveled from Kohama Island, and although the weather can be unstable in winter with the possibility of ferry cancellations, we received thorough guidance about access from the remote island in advance, which made us feel secure about participating.

Upon arrival at Uehara Port, we were welcomed and on the way to the shop for preparations, we saw the Higan Cherry Blossoms blooming, marking our first cherry blossom viewing of the year. From the moment we got in the car, the guide shared fascinating insights about the nature and history of Iriomote Island, and we quickly found ourselves immersed in an extraordinary world.

As we leisurely paddled through the mangrove forest in a canoe, I could feel my mind relaxing more and more. With this relaxation, my senses, which had been dulled by the busyness of everyday life, gradually opened up, and I became highly sensitive to everything around me—the natural sounds, the scents wafting from the mangrove forest and various plants, absorbing everything and feeling rejuvenated.

While trekking towards the waterfall after getting off the canoe, we encountered a heavy rain shower reminiscent of a tropical downpour, but it was a beautiful rain that didn’t feel uncomfortable. It truly felt like the charm and essence of nature. Remarkably, when we reached the waterfall, the rain stopped, and we enjoyed a warm meal prepared by our guide. We experienced the almost private atmosphere of Pinaisara, soaking in the vigorous, silk-like spray of water enriched with negative ions, which had increased due to the rain, from 55 meters upstream!

What made me very happy was that the guide took many great photos with a camera and generously gifted us the data for free.

学生の頃にスキューバのライセンスを取りに訪れた西表島に、30年ぶりに、今度は親子でお邪魔しました。
小浜島からの移動でしたが、冬場は天候が不安定で船の欠航の可能性もありましたが、事前に離島からのアクセスについても丁寧にご案内をいただき、安心して参加出来ました。
上原港でお迎えしてもらい、準備のためにショップに向かう道中でヒガンザクラが咲いていて、今年の最速お花見。車に乗った瞬間からガイドさんからの西表島の自然や歴史にちなんだ数々のインプットがとても興味深く、面白くて、あっいう間に非日常の世界に飛び込みました。
マングローブの林の中を、ゆったりとカヌーで進んでいると、自分の心もどんどんゆったりしてくるのがわかりました。ゆったりしてくると、ふだんの忙しい日常の中で塞がっていた五感も、ゆっくりと開放されて来て、目に触れるもの、耳に響いてくる自然の息吹、マングローブの林や様々な植物から漂う香りにすごく敏感になって、色々なものを吸収して癒されていきました。
カヌーを降りてトレッキングで滝壺を目指す間、南国のスコールのような豪雨になりましたが、キレイな雨で不快感もなく、また、これぞ自然の魅力・醍醐味という感じでした。なんと滝壺に到着すると雨も上がり、ガイドさんが準備してくれた温かい食事をいただき、ほぼ貸し切りピナイサーラ状態で、55メートル上流から繰り出される、スコールで水量を増した威勢の良い、マイナスイオンたっぷりの絹のような水しぶきを親子で全身に浴びて参りました！
とても嬉しかったのは、ガイドさんがカメラでスゴク良い写真をたくさん撮ってくださって、それをデータで無料でプレゼントしてくれたことです

I used the local bus to visit various places, but I hadn't ventured much into the northern areas due to the many transfers. I had also avoided day tours because of the early departure times, the noise, and the long hours of commitment, but I decided to participate this time.

It was really fun! First of all, since there was no bus guide, I could sleep whenever I wanted on the bus, and I could listen to the sightseeing information through the audio guide (earphones). The guide also used earphones to communicate, which made it less crowded. The little gifts were delicious, the places we visited were well thought out, and I thought the overall structure of the tour was excellent.

I plan to choose Jumbo Tours when selecting a tour next time.

I visited Cape Hedo for the first time. At first, I considered going there by transferring on the Okinawa bus, but I was about to give up because it would take a lot of time and wouldn't be efficient. That's when I found this tour. The Yanbaru area is quite challenging to visit on your own, so I joined this tour. Before getting on the bus, we sanitized our hands, and inside the bus, we were seated with space between each group, which made me feel safe while sightseeing.

One of the places I had been curious about since studying for the World Heritage Certification and wanted to visit. I love traveling, but I'm not very accustomed to group tours, so I'm not a big fan of them, haha. It's quite a challenging place to visit on your own (over 120 kilometers one way from Naha, with no restrooms or gas stations along the way, and a lot of roadkill). I participated to explore comfortably and without stress. The tour guide and driver were very kind, and I would love to request them again. Even now, when I think back to the scenery I saw that day, I feel like I could cry from the emotion. This is the first destination that has moved my heart so much. By the way, I stayed for a few more days afterward, and the fish I had in Kunigami was the most delicious! I want to participate again to experience the air of Yanbaru. Thank you very much.

世界遺産検定の勉強をしていた時からずっと気になっていて、行ってみたいと思っていた場所の一つでした。旅好きですが、団体のツアーってそんなに慣れていないので、あまり好きではないのですが、苦笑。。個人で行くには大変な場所です。(那覇から片道120キロ以上、途中トイレやガソリンスタンドないところもある、ロードキルも多いので)ストレスなく快適に見て回るために参加。添乗員さん、ドライバーさんとても親切な方々で、またお願いしたいくらいです。今でもこの日に見た風景を思い返すと涙が出そうになる程、感動しました。こんなに心が動かされるデスティネーションは初めてです。ちなみに、その後数日滞在してましたが、国頭で食べたお魚が一番美味しかった！このやんばるの空気に触れに、また参加したいです。ありがとうございました。

Many bus tours focus on the Churaumi Aquarium, so I was looking for something different and found this one. Every place we visited was new to me and enjoyable. I wasn't confident in canoeing or trekking, but seeing the great outdoors and the beautiful weather really boosted my spirits. Canoeing felt great, and occasionally we received explanations from our guide, learning about the wonders of the mangroves. I have been to Okinawa many times, and this was my first tour.

First of all, the most impressive part was the tour guide! I could really feel their desire to entertain everyone. It turned out to be a great trip. The lunch was delicious, and I think the course had a fulfilling content. Also, the souvenir manju was incredibly tasty. Nearly 50 years ago, shortly after the return of Okinawa, I traveled there with friends. We were able to reach Yagaji Island, but unfortunately, there was no bus connection to Cape Hedo, so we couldn't go there.

On this trip, I finally had the chance to make a day trip to the northernmost point of Okinawa Island. From Cape Hedo, I could see Yoron Island and felt the difference between the sentiments of the Okinawan people before the return and the ease with which we can now visit from Honshu.

Local staff explained the mangrove ecosystem, and in the forest of Oishi Forest Park, we saw sharp rocks eroded by rain, butterflies, and cicadas. The view from the observation deck, where we could see Yoron Island, was also wonderful.

I was also impressed by the female tour guide, who, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, remained cheerful and bright while providing various explanations.

I felt attracted not only to Okinawa's international character but also to its efforts in nature conservation.

５０年近く前、沖縄返還直後に沖縄に友達と旅行したとき、屋我地までは行けたのですが、辺戸岬まではバスがつながらず、残念ながら行けませんでした。

I was very glad to participate in this tour. Although it was a short trip of two nights and three days at the end of October, this one-day tour made it a very fulfilling experience.

We efficiently visited multiple sightseeing spots, had delicious lunch, and were able to properly observe the Okinawa rail, which was fantastic! I think this tour is highly recommended for first-time visitors to Yanbaru. Along the way, there were several opportunities to enjoy delicious Okinawan food, which was also a delight. Due to infection control measures, there weren't many chances to eat, and some items were taken home, so I hope that if this situation continues, it would be great if you could suggest the best times to eat.

I felt that infection control measures were well implemented, as we traveled in a large bus with social distancing maintained and alcohol disinfection upon boarding.

I went yesterday.
It was a packed itinerary, and I was able to fully enjoy Yanbaru.
I've visited Okinawa's main island more than ten times, but I rarely had the chance to go to the northern part on my own. Since this was a solo trip, I decided to join a tour.
I think this is a great tour for first-timers to explore the three villages in the northern part of Yanbaru. From the second time onward, I plan to decide on my own itinerary.

My first time on Iriomote Island. I thought about going canoeing first and did some research, but since I wanted to keep the afternoon free, I opted for a half-day canoeing and trekking tour. Since it was a weekday, there was only one other person on the tour. While I watched larger groups on full-day tours rushing around, I was able to enjoy a more intimate canoeing experience with the guide! The handmade rice balls and fried chicken bento were delicious!
