My husband, our two children, and I participated in a tour. Our main goal was to visit the aquarium, so we looked for a tour that would allow us to leave late and return early.

The aquarium was larger than I expected, and I wanted to see other facilities as well, but it felt like there wasn't enough time. However, for me, who was focused on seeing the whale sharks, it was great to be able to watch them at a leisurely pace. At Kouri Island, I recommend bringing a change of clothes. My kids, one in elementary school and the other in preschool, ran straight into the beautiful sea and ended up soaking their pants (laughs).

Also, the guide introduced us to various Okinawan songs and dialects, which was fun. Although it wasn't us, I appreciated how the guide quickly made phone calls and changes for those who were stuck in traffic on the way back and were worried about missing their dinner reservations.

Next time, I definitely want to join a different tour! ♪

I was expecting the famous guide, but due to scheduling, we had a female guide instead. It's understandable that she had a day off, and the female guide was very pleasant, so I have no complaints. For beginners in travel, a sightseeing bus tour that efficiently takes you to the attractions is very helpful as an introduction. However, due to time constraints, lunch was served quite early (at 11:30), and I ended up leaving some of the food uneaten. When I asked the staff to reduce the portion because I have a small appetite, they said not to worry about leaving food if there was too much. It feels uncomfortable to waste food, so I wished they could have reduced it. After lunch, it started pouring rain, and at the last stop, Tamatorizaki, we couldn't go up to the observation deck, which was disappointing. On the way back, they also drop you off at the airport, which I think is convenient for those who want to make the most of the morning and head straight home.

We didn't even stop at Ryugujo, the butterfly paradise. We had an hour lunch break near a hotel with shops/food court and I was expecting Okinawa soba as stated in the itinerary but we got a "hot sandwich" which ended up being a tiny triangle of basically taco salad sandwich. Had to go buy a bowl of Okinawa Soba to have enough to eat. We spent 40 minutes at the pineapple park. We definitely didn't need a whole hour for lunch as tiny as it was. It simply forces you to buy more food at the food court. Not going to see the butterflies at all was a huge disappointment. No explanation given as to why we didn't even go.
We had 3 hours at the aquarium which was great. Wish we had more time there.

Over about half a day from morning to evening, we visited several highlights in central to northern Okinawa, but since there were many places to stop, the time spent at each location was a bit short. Especially on Kouri Island, if you stop to use the restroom or eat ice cream, you completely run out of time to enjoy the sea, and the scenic drive over the Warumi Bridge felt like it was over in an instant.

However, at Churaumi Aquarium and Busena, you can relax while enjoying the beautiful beaches around, and even though the tour explanations are provided through automatic audio in your earphones, they efficiently use the travel time to give you information, making it a great value for the cost.

The final stop is American Village, where those coming from Naha can take their time shopping, but for those departing from Chatan, you can get off here and then freely choose to return to your hotel or go out for a meal or shopping, which is very convenient.

With the changing times, there are more foreign participants from Asian countries, but I felt a bit sad that the guide first explains in English and then in Japanese. Recently, when Japanese people visit tourist attractions overseas, the Japanese explanations tend to come last, so it seems that Japanese people are often put on the back burner both at home and abroad. 同行者が初の沖縄訪問でしたが、初めての沖縄旅では絶対外せない美ら海水族館に北谷からも行ける貴重なツアーです。朝から夕方までの約半日で沖縄中部～北部の見どころスポットを複数訪れますが、回る場所が多いので一か所あたりの滞在時間が短いのが少し惜しいです。とくに古宇利島はトイレに立ち寄ってアイスを食べたりしているとまったく海を観て楽しむ時間は無くなってしまいますし、車窓観光のワルミ大橋も「え！？今通っちゃったの！？」という感じであっという間でした。

でも美ら海水族館やブセナでは周りの美しいビーチを観てリラックスできますし、観光についてもイヤホン自動音声ながら移動中の時間を使って効率的に説明してくれるのでコストパフォーマンスは高いです。

最終立ち寄り地はアメリカンヴィレッジで、那覇発の方々はこちらでしばしのショッピングタイムをゆっくり取ることができますが、北谷発ですとこちらで降りて後はホテルに帰るなり食事やショッピングに行くなり、自由に過ごすことができるので助かります。

時代の流れでアジア諸国からの外国人の参加が多くなりましたが、引率のガイドさんがまず英語で案内し、その次に日本語になるのは少し寂しく思いました。昨今、日本人が海外の観光名所を訪れると日本語の説明は最後のほうなので、日本でも海外でも日本人は後回しなんだな～と・・・。日本人は奥ゆかしく我慢強い民族だという認識なので、どこの国でも後ろに追いやられてしまいますね（苦笑）

Saijō-ō-taki is an ancient sacred site, so it was a quiet place. Without explanations, it's hard to know the highlights, so it's a good idea to watch the explanatory video thoroughly at the entrance. The highlight of Okinawa World, which we visited next, is the Gyokusendo Cave. Since it has been a tourist spot for quite some time, there were accumulations of limestone in various places along the artificially created pathways inside the cave. However, the schedule was quite flexible, so I think it would have been fine to do it on the return day. In the afternoon, I had plenty of free time, so I strolled around Kokusai Street.

The main tourist attractions in central Okinawa were packaged together, and I enjoyed every moment from start to finish.

I thought it would have been nice to see the super famous Heart Rock on Kouri Island, even just passing by on the bus. The Churaumi Aquarium, of course, had the large tank with whale sharks, but enjoying a café while overlooking the big tank was a luxurious experience. After that, instead of watching the dolphin show, I took a stroll on Emerald Beach, which turned out to be a lovely and refreshing place. I wondered if the inclusion of the Okashi Goten was a commercial strategy or a collaboration, but I ended up buying some souvenirs (laughs). The atmosphere and the dance at Ryukyu Mura were also great, and I even got to meet the famous staff member, Grandma Umeko (laughs).

Also, as many of you have written in your experiences, the guide was truly wonderful. Not only did we hear stories about Okinawa, but there were also songs included, making the entire day of the tour enjoyable, even on the bus.

In short, I was able to spend a fulfilling day. I highly recommend this to anyone planning to explore this area!

その後イルカのショーは見ないでエメラルドビーチを散歩しましたが、思った以上に素敵で気持ちよい場所でした。
御菓子御殿が組み込まれているのは、商業戦略かタイアップ？と思ってしまいましたが、乗せられて（笑）しっかりお土産を買いました。
琉球村の踊りも雰囲気も良かったです、名物スタッフ・ウメトおばぁにも会えましたし笑

あと、皆さんも体験談でよく書かれてますが、ガイドさんはとても素晴らしかったです。
沖縄話だけでなく唄なども交え、バスの中も含めツアー１日を堪能できました。

と、とにかく充実した一日を過ごす事ができました。
この辺りを巡ることを予定されている方には超オススメです！

One group was late arriving at the meeting place, Kencho Plaza, but the guide seemed to have a hard time making phone calls to assist them.
