I found a half-day tour departing from Naha Airport at 2 PM and booked it immediately. The Kariyushi Aquarium was beautiful and fun, and both Umikaji Terrace and American Village had stunning seas and plenty of delicious food, which left me very satisfied. Since my flight was around 7 PM on the last day of my trip, I wanted to make the most of the half day and made a reservation two days prior. It happened to be a day of high tide, so we were able to take a route on the Nakama River cruise that usually cannot be accessed due to low water levels, allowing us to see mangroves that can only be found there. However, the water level was so high that the roots, which are a characteristic of mangroves, were almost submerged. I feel that experiencing the jungle-like atmosphere of the mangroves would be better during low tide. We sat on the right side of the boat, but since the boat traveled upstream along the left bank, I wished we had sat on the left side. (This also depends on the water level, so it can't be said definitively.)

On Yubu Island, we had 90 minutes of free time, including lunch. It takes less than an hour to walk around the entire island, so the time was sufficient. Since the return trip goes via Taketomi Island, if you have extra time, I recommend getting off at Taketomi Island to explore by rental bicycle or ox cart. You can ride an ox cart on Yubu Island, so personally, I think it's best to cycle around Kondoi Beach and Kaiji Beach.

Next time, I want to stay on Iriomote Island and enjoy more activities on the island.

由布島では昼食を含めて90分の自由時間がありました。島全体は1時間もかからずに一周できるので時間は充分です。帰りは竹富島経由なので時間に余裕があるなら竹富島で降りて、レンタサイクルや牛車で島を観光することをお勧めします。由布島で牛車に乗れるので、個人的にはレンタサイクルでコンドイ浜やカイジ浜を回るのが良いかと。
次回は西表島に宿泊してもっと島内のアクティビティを楽しみたいです。

I was unsure about touring the northern area by rental car since I'm not good at driving, but I found a bus tour to the area I wanted to visit and decided to sign up. It turned out to be a great decision as it was very comfortable.

We were able to visit various places, and the admission fee to the Churaumi Aquarium was included in the price, making it a great deal. I enjoyed the scenery much more than I would have while nervously driving a rental car. The guide and the driver were both kind, and I'm glad I signed up!

I left my luggage at the hotel and joined the tour. First, we were able to explore the mangroves by boat and take our time with photos (the guide was also very attentive). The water buffalo cart was a slow-paced ride, allowing us to enjoy sightseeing at a leisurely pace. On the way back, we returned a bit faster with a different guide, but it was no problem since it was the return trip.

Finally, on Taketomi Island, we rode bicycles using a map. I had selected places to visit in advance online, so we were able to explore with plenty of time to spare.

Despite the rainy season weather making the local sightseeing slippery and difficult to walk, both the bus guide and the bus driver were considerate, and their desire for us participants to have a comfortable experience was very evident.

In particular, the bus guide's explanations about Okinawa's culture and tourist attractions were enjoyable, making the long travel time meaningful.

I picked up my ticket at the counter and headed to the boarding area. Since the seats are unreserved, it's a good idea to arrive early to get a nice spot.
On Iriomote Island, we enjoyed a 30-minute mangrove cruise. The guide provided detailed explanations about the plants and animals.
We traveled to Yubu Island by water buffalo cart. The guide's shamisen was very soothing.

In the northern part of Yanbaru, I participated in my first solo bus tour. On the day of the tour, it was cloudy with occasional rain, and I was a bit anxious, but the cheerful greeting from the tour guide immediately put me at ease. The information I heard through the earphones was also educational. Thanks to the guide's flexible responses, I was able to visit the mangrove walkway, see the stunning view of Route 58 and Daishi Forest, enjoy lunch (which was a heavy downpour at that moment), visit Cape Hedo (a breathtaking view), and at Daishi Forest, I could admire the strange rocks, forest, and sea, managing to complete all the courses even though I wasn't very confident on my feet.

やんばる北部、初の独りバスツアーで、当日は曇り空ぽつぽつ雨の中不安ながらの参加でしたが、最初の添乗員さんの底抜けに明るいご挨拶に心も解れ、イヤホンで所々聞く案内も勉強になりました。添乗員さんの臨機応変なご対応で、マングローブの遊歩道、ルート58と大石林山のツーショット、お昼ごはん(ここだけ大雨)、辺戸岬(絶景)、そして大石林山では奇岩、森林、海を眺めながら、足に自信がない私でも全てのコースを廻ることができました。

次回は北部に宿をとり、ゆっくり自分の足で復習に廻りたいと思いました。
特筆は、添乗員さんのYKさん！2連続の添乗で私よりも疲れていらっしゃるでしょうに、通して明るく元気に盛り上げてくださり、なんてprofessional！最後降車時の『またいつか会いましょうね～！』の一言は染みました。

We transferred to a bus and headed to the cruise ship terminal. The driver and guide was very good at speaking! After switching to the cruise ship, we observed the mangroves. Having done quite a few guided river cruises in Southeast Asia, I wasn't particularly impressed. We then transferred to another bus to go to the water buffalo cart station. The water buffalo cart ride while listening to Yaeyama folk songs was nice! The Okinawan cuisine at Yubu Island, accompanied by explanations, was delicious! After the meal, we took a commemorative photo with the water buffalo "Rui-kun"! I wanted the photo data and purchased two for 2500 yen. You can quickly download the data with a QR code. Then, there was a thunderstorm! During that time, we enjoyed Yubu Island coffee and cake at the Yubu Island tea house. The coffee was very tasty with a slight acidity. It seems to be a daily blend. 残り時間20分で展望ビルに上り、アイスの商店でアイス購入し、走り回り～またバスで港へ行き船で帰港・・・。クルーズ時間を短くするかして竹富島観光時間を、あと30分は取って欲しい。全ての行程でチケットを切り取り、出すのが大変でした。遊園地の腕輪のようにコース番号印刷をはめれば見せるだけでOKみたいなものを使ってほしいです。

4:ツアー前日に電話がかかってきてその際に集合時間を案内されますが(他ツアーも同じく)申し込みがWebなのにその後アナログ対応で電話とは。。。IP電話だと電話代発生しますし沖縄旅行だと前日もバタバタしていたり離島や電波の悪い場所にいたり(私はそうでした)。運用システムの改善を強く要望します。
要は、目的が「集合時間、場所相互認識一致」ですよね。
なら申し込みに使用したメールアドレスからそのような画面へうつってクリックするなりすれば目的は果たせますよね？
アプリや大掛かりなシステム開発では費用がかさむこともありますが
この程度のものなら短時間少人数で対応できるわけです。
今回沖縄旅行で2つのツアーを申し込みましたが、現システムの悪さを踏まえてもリピートはありません。
