I can't drive, so I rely solely on public transportation, but the bus fare to the northern region is surprisingly high. In that regard, I felt that this day trip tour, which includes sightseeing and lunch, was a great deal.

On the day of the tour, there were about 11 participants, but since it was a large bus, we were able to relax comfortably. Except for two groups, most of the participants were solo travelers, and there were many foreigners.

At Asumuihikes (Daishi Forest), we had a 60-minute stay, during which we explored the short course and the Spirit Forest, and we even enjoyed coffee in the lounge. The timing was just right. For those who may not be confident in their physical fitness, the short course is enjoyable without being too strenuous. The forest course, on the other hand, has larger stones and tree roots, which might make it a bit difficult to walk.

The seafood lunch included sashimi and grilled mackerel, and it was very delicious. Since it was December, the temperature was just right, and we were blessed with good weather. I'm really glad I participated.

Since it was my first time going to the Yanbaru area, I was unsure whether to go by rental car or take a bus tour. The bus tour this time included delicious lunch and took us to various places for the entire duration. It might have been a bit hectic, but I was glad to learn about the sightseeing spots in the Yanbaru region. One of the great things about the bus is that I could sleep if I got tired. The crew members were very kind. I was deeply impressed by their willingness to accommodate our wishes and requests as much as possible. The bus tour itself allowed us to visit various places, and I was able to create wonderful memories. On my first trip to Okinawa, I wanted to focus on the Churaumi Aquarium, so I chose this tour. The guide seemed a bit inexperienced, but the tour ended without any particular issues.

The aquarium felt a bit crowded, but we were able to see everything, including the dolphin show. It was a bit cloudy, so I think Kuromoti Island would have been even more beautiful if it had been sunnier, but I still had a great time.

At American Village, our time was short, so I went with the mindset of just enjoying the atmosphere. I was satisfied to see the illuminations and to have a delicious hamburger.

The young female staff at the reception was very polite and explained everything clearly. Although the wind was strong, I didn't feel seasick, and it was impressive to see about four staff members waving goodbye as we departed from Ishigaki Island. The water buffalo, Yufu Island, the bus driver, and the female staff for the mangrove tour at Nakama River were all very kind and provided thorough explanations. The lunch was delicious, and everything was great!

However, I was really looking forward to the free time on Taketomi Island at the end. I had planned to spend the entire next day on Taketomi Island, so I wanted to take 2-3 hours to scout the area. While I was wandering around trying to find a rental bicycle place within walking distance from the port, an older man shouted, "The rental bicycles are this way!" When I approached to ask, he said, "Just get in the car for now!" even though I clearly told him I hadn't made a reservation.

After getting out of the car and trying to proceed with the rental bicycle process, the female staff at the reception said, "Only renting a bicycle? You can't get in the car unless it's part of the water buffalo package." When I explained that I had told the man I was only renting a bicycle and hadn't made a reservation, she seemed reluctant. I suddenly felt uncomfortable and tried to leave, but I was prompted to write my name down, so I borrowed the bicycle for a bit. However, I was worried about the bus schedule back to the port and ended up returning it after just one hour. Renting a bicycle for a whole day would have allowed for a more relaxed experience, but 2,000 yen for just two hours felt expensive, especially during the off-season.

I had imagined Taketomi Island to be a more leisurely place, but it felt very rushed, which was disappointing, and I decided not to go back the next day. Originally, I had planned to only visit Taketomi Island, so it was a good thing I participated in the tour and was able to visit other islands as well.

受付の若い女性スタッフさんとても丁寧で分かりやすく説明してくれました。風が強かったが船に酔うこともなく、石垣島を出港する時スタッフさんが4人位でずっと手を振ってくれていたのが印象的。水牛も由布島もバスの運転手さん、仲間川のマングローブ遊覧の女性スタッフさん、とても親切丁寧に説明をしてくださり、昼食も美味しくとても良かった！ただ、一番楽しみにしていた最後の竹富島フリータイム。翌日丸一日を竹富島に行こうと計画していたので、2〜3時間かけて下見をしようと思っていたが、港から歩いていけるレンタサイクルさんがどういっていいかウロウロしていたら、おじさんが「レンタサイクルはこっちー！」と叫んでいて、聞いてみようと近くに行ったら「レンタサイクルだけ？とりあえず乗って！」と車に乗せられた。予約もしていないとハッキリ伝えていた。車を降り、レンタサイクルの手続きをしようとしたところ、受付の女性に「レンタサイクルだけ？水牛とセットじゃないと車には乗れないんですけど？」と言われた。おじさんに予約してないし、レンタサイクルのみと伝えたと言うと、何だか渋々。一気に嫌な気分になり、出ようとしたが、ここに名前書いてーと促され、とりあえず借りたが、港までのバスの時間だとか、あれこれ気になって結局1時間で返し、港に向かった。レンタサイクル1日借りられればゆったり出来るだろうが、2時間で2000円は高い。オフシーズンなのに。竹富島のイメージがもっとゆったりとしたものと思っていたがとてもせわしなく、がっかりしてしまい翌日も行くのをやめた。元々竹富島だけに行こうと考えていたので、ツアーに参加して他の島も行くことが出来てよかったです。

It was raining, but I didn't mind at all because the red brick houses and the water buffalo provided the best healing experience! The explanations from the staff and the folk songs were also wonderful. I definitely want to experience it again when I come back. I rented a bicycle and went to Nishi-Sanbashi and Kondoi Beach. I was first impressed by Nishi-Sanbashi, and then when I arrived at Kondoi Beach, I was amazed to see some clear skies, making it feel like a paradise. I didn't have enough time to go to Kaiji Beach, so I definitely want to go next time!

I was moved by the beauty of nature when I saw the golden chrysalis of the Papilio butterfly in the butterfly garden! The mangrove cruise allows the boat to get quite close, providing a rare view that you can't see in Honshu. Although the tour starts early, you can enjoy a full day of activities, making it very fulfilling.
