The wind had been strong since the day before, so I was worried about seasickness and bought some motion sickness medication just in case, but the large ferry was stable, and it seemed I didn't need the medication after all.

I purchased a premium seat for the segment from Iriomote Island to Taketomi Island, and I was able to take photos both indoors and on the deck, which made for great memories! The mangrove cruise was also comfortable with a pleasant breeze.

The bus tour on Iriomote Island featured a wonderful guide with a great sense of humor. I was impressed by the water buffalo on my first-ever water buffalo cart ride! The sanshin music and singing added to the Okinawan atmosphere, making it a fantastic time! The tour of Yubu Island (the botanical garden) was also enjoyable, and the lunch was delicious. The only slight regret was missing the free commemorative photo with the water buffalo.

This was my second visit to Taketomi Island, and I remembered strolling through the village while being amazed by the scenery last time. Even though it had been over a decade, I thought I could have the same experience, so I chose the free walk plan, which turned out to be a mistake. Both my husband and I were exhausted just reaching the village, and we ended up resting at a café. I can't help but feel that if we had chosen the bus tour, this day trip would have surely been "the best!"

Now that we're in our 60s, it seems best to choose plans that don't overestimate our physical strength. The hotel pick-up and drop-off service was also very appreciated. Thank you for all your help!

前日から風が強かったため、船酔いが心配で、酔い止めの薬を念のため買って呑みましたが、大型フェリーで安定感があり、薬は要らなかったようです。
西表島から竹富島への区間は、プレミアムシートを購入しましたが、室内でもデッキでも写真撮影ができて、いい思い出になりました！
マングローブ遊覧も、風が気持ちよくて快適でした。
西表島のバス観光は、ユーモアのセンスに溢れた観光案内が素晴らしかったです。人生初の水牛車も賢くて働き者の水牛に感動！　三線と歌も沖縄の雰囲気が楽しめて最高の時間でした！　由布島（植物園）の観光も楽しく、ランチも美味しかったです。水牛との無料の記念写真撮影を逃したのだけが若干心残りです。
竹富島は2回目で、前回景色に感動しながら集落をぶらぶら歩いた記憶があったので、あれから十数年経っているにも拘らず、同じ体験ができるものと思い、フリーウォークプランを選んだのが失敗でした。主人も私も集落まで辿り着くだけで足が疲れてしまい、カフェで休憩して終わりました。バス観光を選んでいたら、今回の日帰りツアーはきっと「最高でした！」を選べたのにと思うとその点だけが残念でなりません。やはり、60代になったので、自分たちの体力は過信せずに無理をしないプランを選ぶのが一番のようです。
ホテルへの送迎もとても有難かったです。大変お世話になりました！

My first time in Ishigaki Island, and the three-island tour was amazing. Since I had already paid through Veltra, there was no waiting for check-in at the remote island terminal, making everything very smooth. The mangrove cruise in Iriomote Island, the water buffalo cart to Yufu Island, and the lunch, along with the water buffalo cart in Taketomi Island, made for a fun day.

What stood out to me the most were the mangrove tour and the water buffalo cart ride. The boatman during the mangrove tour skillfully controlled the boat while sharing fascinating stories about the ecosystem, and he was able to spontaneously respond to the rare creatures that appeared, which was very captivating.

Additionally, the interactions between the guide and the water buffalo conveyed a strong sense of trust. The buffalo cart moved along while the guide explained things to the guests, and the harmony created with the singing and the sanshin was truly moving.

Lunch was also delicious, made with local ingredients. Although I participated alone, the staff provided thorough explanations, so I didn't feel confused at all.

特に印象に残ったのはマングローブの遊覧と水牛車でした。
　マングローブ遊覧の船頭さんは安全に船をコントロールしつつ
生態系の興味深いお話しをしつつ突発的に現れる珍しい生物もアドリブで
対応されていてとてもひきつけられました。
　また水牛車のガイドさんと水牛さんとのやりとりが随所にあり信頼関係がひしひしと伝わってきました。
牛車の進行・お客に説明しながらさらに唄三線となんだか調和がとれている
感じが感動的でした。
昼ごはんも地元の材料を使ってあり、おいしくいただけました。
一人参加でしたがスタッフの方が丁寧に説明していただけたので
戸惑うことはありませんでした。

I visited Ishigaki Island for the first time with friends in their 20s from Kansai.

While paddling on a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) through the mangrove forest, which thrives in water, we had to get off and take a break at one point because the muddy ground was really sticky. Instead of being surrounded by trees, we were enveloped by the mangrove forest by the water's edge, which made us feel very connected to nature, and the gentle rocking on the water was quite pleasant.

As long as you don't fall in, you can safely use your phone in a waterproof case!

As for snorkeling, I couldn't imagine the water temperature in November, which is unusual for Kansai, but thanks to the wetsuit, I only felt cold when I first stepped into the water. We were able to see the clear sea, which is not something you usually encounter, along with many types of fish and corals, and as the title suggests, we even spotted a sea turtle! Since we were basically in the water, I was able to take photos underwater with my phone in a waterproof case!

11月の海が関西では有り得ないため水温の想像が出来ませんでしたが海に入る前も後もウェットスーツおかげか寒いなどの感想は海に足を入れた時のみでした。普段見ることは出来ない透明な海とたくさんの種類の魚やサンゴが見られ、タイトルのようにウミガメを見ることもできました。
こちらは基本的に海に浸かっているので防水ケースに入れた携帯なら水の中でも写真を撮れました！

I joined Matsuura's tour by myself! The explanations were thorough, and I was able to take a lot of photos. The ship we boarded was large, so it was fine even with some waves. The mangrove tour moved slowly for nature conservation, allowing us to see various trees. We rode water buffalo in Yufu and Taketomi. Since we moved at the water buffalo's pace, it was a relaxing and leisurely experience. After the Taketomi water buffalo ride, it was nice to stroll around freely like the water buffalo, taking our time. It was a soothing and relaxing trip.

I participated in a morning mangrove kayak tour and an afternoon snorkeling tour. It was helpful that they accepted reservations even the night before.

During the morning mangrove kayak tour, we received a briefing on how to paddle, making it enjoyable even for beginners. I recommend wearing a swimsuit and clothes that can get dirty, as you surprisingly get wet from the river water.

The afternoon Blue Cave tour was changed to snorkeling at Ohsaki due to poor sea conditions from the typhoon. Although there was a change, the snorkeling time was longer, and I actually enjoyed it more. There were considerations for those who are not good at swimming, so I felt safe participating.

Additionally, the instructor shared recommendations for restaurants and information about Ishigaki Island during the car ride, making for a fun time! Thank you very much.

午前のマングローブカヤックでは、最初に漕ぎ方のレクチャーがあり、初心者でも楽しむことができました。意外に川の水で濡れるので水着＋汚れてもいい服装をおすすめします。
午後の青の洞窟ツアーは台風影響で海の状態が良くないため、大崎でのシュノーケルへ変更となりました。

We rode a water buffalo cart across the sea and around the island. The staff member who guided us was very personable, and the warm, cheerful atmosphere made the time fly by!
They even shared the individual personalities of the water buffalo, which made me really feel that we were living together (laughs).
It was my first experience with mangroves, and with the detailed guidance from our guide, it was an enriching cruising time!
The next day, I was excited for the canoe experience in the mangroves, which heightened my anticipation.
It was a fun tour where the day passed in the blink of an eye.

Enjoying the breathtaking voyage between the islands, we arrived at Iriomote Island. The guidance from our safe-driving driver was exceptional! Thanks to the efforts of the uniquely charming water buffalo, we crossed over to Yufu Island and explored the area. The cruising on the Nakama River was captivating, thanks to a truly professional guide, making the boat trip feel like it flew by. On Taketomi Island, we had a bus tour. I got completely absorbed in searching for star sand. The lunch was also plentiful and delicious! Overall, it was a reassuring tour surrounded by professionals.

Snorkeling was hard and swimming was tough. After it was over, I was completely exhausted. It was disappointing that I couldn't see any turtles, but I was happy to see many colorful fish, coral reefs, and large fish. The hotel shuttle service was very helpful! It turned out to be a fulfilling day, and I would like to use it again! I received tickets and used them one by one for the activities. During the morning cruise, we coincided with high tide, and since it was right after a typhoon, we couldn't see the mangroves very well, but we were able to see different routes and various plants! We also had lunch while riding water buffalo. In Taketomi Island, we were able to move efficiently by cycling. It surprisingly felt like we had more time, but it went by quickly, so I think it's better to plan ahead!

I participated in early October. Since it was a Sunday, the boat was quite crowded. I recommend lining up early. They efficiently take you around three spots in one day, so I highly recommend it. The price feels a bit high, but it can't be helped. The lunch bento was average. I rented a bicycle on Taketomi Island, and since I arrived in the afternoon, there were quite a few available.

During high tide, there was about 50 centimeters of seawater, which must be tough for the buffalo. Yufu is beautifully natural. I had made a reservation in advance and was worried about the rain, so I opted for a bus tour on Taketomi Island, which allowed us to see everything quickly. I participated in a mangrove kayak tour. Even though I made a reservation the day before, they kindly informed me about the boat situation from Ishigaki Island to Iriomote Island on the day of the tour, which was very helpful. The tour was led by Ayu! During the transfer to the river, I learned about the special natural monuments of Iriomote Island, as well as the island's food, plants, and way of life. The conversation was very easy to understand and had a friendly vibe, so everyone enjoyed not only the canoeing but also chatting with Ayu. On the way back, she recommended a great restaurant, and I had a very meaningful time on the island! I would love to join another tour the next time I visit the island.

I was brought to Ishigaki by my son and his wife just before turning 60. Our original plans had to change due to a typhoon, but I really wanted to do the mangrove kayaking, so I made a last-minute reservation the day before. Despite the unfortunate weather, I had a very enjoyable time. We were probably the oldest couple among the participants that day, but we didn't have any issues; in fact, there was even a mishap that left us wetter than anyone else, which became a great memory. I'm glad we were able to take a lot of photos. Since we couldn't go snorkeling and finished early, we went to the restaurant recommended by our instructor for both lunch and dinner. The food there was also very delicious, and we had a fulfilling day in Ishigaki, despite the approaching typhoon. Thank you very much.

60歳を目前にして息子夫婦に石垣に連れてきてもらいました。
元々の予定は台風により変更せざるを得ませんでしたが、マングローブカヤックはどうしてもやりたかったので、前日に急遽こちらを予約しました。

恐らく当日の参加者の中で一番の年長者夫婦でしたが、何も困ることはなく、むしろ誰よりも濡れてしまうようなハプニングもあり、いい思い出になりました。

シュノーケルができず早く終わったので、インストラクターさんにおすすめしていただいたご飯屋さんに昼も夜も食べにいきました。そちらもとても美味しく、台風が近づいているとは思えないほど充実した石垣での1日を過ごせました。
