I was brought to Ishigaki by my son and his wife just before turning 60. Our original plans had to change due to a typhoon, but I really wanted to do the mangrove kayaking, so I made a last-minute reservation the day before. Despite the unfortunate weather, I had a very enjoyable time. We were probably the oldest couple among the participants that day, but we didn't have any issues; in fact, there was even a mishap that left us wetter than anyone else, which became a great memory. I'm glad we were able to take a lot of photos. Since we couldn't go snorkeling and finished early, we went to the restaurant recommended by our instructor for both lunch and dinner. A typhoon was approaching, so I had to change my original plans and made a last-minute reservation here the day before. Due to the typhoon, we could only do kayaking instead of snorkeling and SUP, but I was just happy to be able to do at least one activity!

It was my first time kayaking, but the guidance was thorough, so I didn't have any trouble. The explanations about the mangroves (types of mangroves, their characteristics, and the differences in root shapes) were very interesting. We also talked throughout the tour about recommended sightseeing spots in Ishigaki and good places to eat, which made it a lot of fun.

Even though we were on the tour in the rain, it didn't bother me since we were already wet. The mangrove forest felt even more like a hidden gem, and it was a rare experience to be out in the rain as an adult.

雨に打たれながらのツアーでしたが、そもそも濡れているのでそれも気にならず、マングローブの森は秘境感が増して楽しかったですし、大人になってから雨に打たれることもなかなかないので貴重な経験でした。
また石垣にきたらアクティビティお願いすると思います！

月フォトになる事は、予約確定前に事前に連絡頂けて安心感がありよかったです‍。
写真の出来栄えについて、星空フォトは「月の光の影響を受けるから星の光が弱い」と仰ってたのですが、思っていたより綺麗に映ってて、天の川も分かるレベルでした！
月フォトは後光が刺してる様な写真になってて不思議な雰囲気の写真。

これから予約しようとしている方は、星空フォトから月フォトになると言われても、ガッカリせず、どちらも撮ってもらえるか聞いてみてはいかがでしょうか？

撮影は、自分たちとカメラマン1人の計3人で撮影。カメラマンは若い男性の方で、人柄の良い方でした！
当日、月に雲がかかっており、1時間くらい粘って、やっと撮れた時には、カメラマンの方も「良かったー」とホッとしており、すごく良い方だったなと思いました。

The day was windy and we had to fight against the wind in the widest place of the mangrove but nothing too difficult. A little bit of rain at some times. All in all you it helped you feel the nature. The guide gave us wonderful explanations on the ecosystem. The experience was great, with a friendly group and guide.
In the afternoon, weather improved and the same guide lead us to the river where we could enjoy a safe canyoning experience for beginners. It was amazing and so much fun.

I participated in this tour on my first visit to Iriomote Island.

In the morning, we went out to the sea for snorkeling around Barasu Island and its surrounding points (led by Shōtarō). The beauty of Ishigaki was impressive, but the stunning clarity of the ocean and the colorful corals were breathtaking! We were lucky enough to encounter a shark! I also took many photos underwater, creating the best memories.

In the afternoon, we did SUP in the mangrove river (led by Ren). It was my first time on a SUP, but they taught me carefully, and it was easy and felt great! I got to see and touch rare creatures and plants with knowledgeable explanations, which was really interesting.

The staff were cheerful, and it was an incredibly fun tour! I want to stay on Iriomote Island next time!
