I wanted to refresh myself in a place surrounded by nature! After considering where to go, I decided on Iriomote Island, and I thought this tour would be perfect. In November, Iriomote Island was warm and had a comfortable climate. The guide was very friendly and talkative, and there was never a dull moment.

I received a phone call with the tour details the day before, which gave me peace of mind. On the day of the tour, there were two groups with four participants. We changed into our shoes, received a lecture on how to paddle a canoe, walked to where the canoes were, and set off towards the Pinaisara Falls. The sky was cloudy, and it looked like it might rain, but the weather was just right. While paddling, the guide explained about the plants and birds, making the journey to our first destination enjoyable. We got off the canoe and started trekking towards Pinaisara Falls. The guide provided clear directions, so I felt safe climbing.

Along the way, there were light showers, but we managed to hold up. Upon reaching the top of Pinaisara Falls, the view overlooking the mangroves was fantastic. The Yaeyama soba that the guide prepared was delicious with a rich broth. We were able to take lots of photos and relax. Next, we aimed for the base of the falls.

When we arrived at the base, the water was murky due to the rain, but the power of the waterfall was incredible. It got colder as the rain intensified, but the coffee the guide made warmed me up. We paddled back in the canoe as the rain became heavier. It turned into a downpour, but it was a valuable experience. On the way back to the hotel, I was lucky enough to encounter a Semaruhakogame (a type of turtle). Throughout the tour, the guide was very considerate, allowing me to participate in the tour with peace of mind.

手付かずの自然囲まれたい。と考えた結果西表島になり、このツアーがぴったりだと思い参加しました。１１月の西表島は暖かく、過ごしやすい気候でした。ガイドさんはとても気さくでお話し好きな方で終始笑いが絶えなかったです。
ツアー前日にツアーの詳細のお電話をいただき、安心感はありました。当日、２組４人の参加でした。シューズを履き替え、カヌーの漕ぎ方のレクチャーを受け、カヌーが置いてある場所まで歩いて行き、カヌーに乗りピナイサーラの滝を目指しました。曇り空で今にも雨が降りそうな天気でしたが、ちょうど良い気候でした。カヌーを漕ぎながらガイドの方が植物や鳥等の説明をしていただき楽しく最初の目的地に着き、カヌーを降りてピナイサーラの滝を目指してトレッキングをスタートしました。ガイドさんがきっちり誘導していただけたので安心して登れました。途中、
小雨が降ったり止んだりしましたが何とか持ち堪えました。
ピナイサーラの滝上に到着し、マングローブを見渡せる景色は最高でした。
ガイドさんが作ってくれた八重山そばが出汁がきいて美味しかったです。
写真も沢山撮ることができ、ゆっくりできました。次は滝壺を目指して降りました。
滝壺に到着し、雨の影響で水が濁ってましたが滝水の迫力が凄かったです。
雨が激しくなり寒かったですが、ガイドさんがコーヒーを淹れてくれたコーヒーで身体が温まりました。
雨が強まる中カヌーで戻りました。
途中から大雨になりましたが貴重な体験ができました。ホテル迄の送迎の途中にセマルハコガメに遭遇できラッキーでした。
終始ガイドさんが気遣って下さり安心してツアーに参加できました。

Also, thank you for sharing your experience with us. The weather on Iriomote Island can change quickly, so I'm glad it didn't rain heavily. The island is full of life, but because the jungle is dense, it's not easy to encounter rare creatures, so it was very lucky to meet the box turtle! And encountering it on the road is quite typical for Iriomote Island.

While it's rare to see the Iriomote cat, in my experience, 90% of the ones I've seen have crossed the road. Please try to look for the Iriomote cat next time you visit.

天気が変わりやすい西表島ですが、大雨にならずに済んでよかったです。
いきものがあふれる島ですが、ジャングルが深いので、なかなか珍しい生き物に出会えないので、ハコガメに出会えたのはとてもラッキーです！
そしてその出会いが、まさかの道路というのも西表島あるあるです。

ヤマネコはなかなか会えませんが、私自身は今まで見た中で9割が道路を横断する個体です。
次回遊びにいらした際は、ヤマネコも探してみてくださいね。

I participated in a one-day tour of Yubu Island for mangrove canoeing (trekking).

It was our first time on Iriomote Island, but we had a great time thanks to the instructor's thorough lectures and extensive knowledge!

The homemade soki soba and bread served for lunch were both exquisite.

I was able to refresh myself by spending a leisurely time surrounded by nature after a long while. I would like to visit again in a slightly warmer season if I have the chance.

夫婦共々西表島は初めてでしたが、インストラクターの方の丁寧なレクチャーと豊富な知識で、大いに楽しめました！

お昼ご飯に振舞って頂いたソーキそばとパンはどとらも自家製とのことで絶品でした。

久しぶりに自然たっぷりの中、ゆったりとした時間を過ごしてリフレッシュできました。

I booked a night tour in Iriomote Island through VELTRA. Since it was November, we couldn't see the stars we were hoping for, but kayaking at night while learning about fireflies, the mangrove ecosystem, and the night sky from our guide was a very interesting experience! The tour lasted just over 60 minutes, so it would have been perfect if we could have enjoyed it a little longer. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful experience on the southern island!

I participated with my colleagues from work. Due to the cancellation of the Uehara ferry, we gathered at 10 AM, but I was relieved because we received proper advance notice. In the morning, we enjoyed a tour of the ox cart and Yufu Island, which lasted about an hour and a half. Yufu Island is small, so we had plenty of fun! The gelato was especially amazing! In the afternoon, we did stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), but all the other participants were kayaking. We had experience with SUP, so it was no problem for us, but the staff were also very attentive in teaching the kayakers, so I think it would be fine even for beginners. Paddling through the mangroves felt mystical, and it gave the illusion of being overseas. We landed in the mangrove forest to observe wildlife and took photos in front of a waterfall, although it was a bit disappointing that the waterfall was very small. The staff were quite friendly and easy to approach, and I could tell they were also attentive to safety. Overall, it was a satisfying activity! Thank you very much!

I was really looking forward to my first night tour on Iriomote Island. Canoeing was a first-time experience for me, but I felt safe and enjoyed it thanks to the thorough instructions and supervision provided. I was satisfied to see many stars and bioluminescent plankton that I can't see in the city. The guide was very knowledgeable about stars and constellations and provided a lot of explanations. However, I was disappointed that I couldn't see the Milky Way because the moon was bright. The guide informed us of the time the moon would set that day and suggested that we stay up late to look at the night sky. So, I went to the beach in the middle of the night. Although the Milky Way was hidden behind thin clouds, the sight of the orange moon setting was very beautiful. I would like to join this tour again during the new moon to see the Milky Way.

天の川は薄雲に隠れて見えませんでしたが、オレンジ色に輝く月が没んでいくところがとても綺麗でした。
新月の時にもう一度このツアーに参加して天の川を見たいと思います。

I made a reservation by myself, but I experienced it with three locals. They welcomed us with a very warm atmosphere, and the two hours flew by!

In the beautiful, clear sea, I was lucky enough to see rays, turtles, and schools of fish. The beach was shallow and had little wind, so even as a beginner, I had a great time!

During my stay on Iriomote Island, I was looking for a tour that would allow me to fully enjoy nature in a limited time, and I came across this tour by Monsoon. Ultimately, I was very satisfied as I was able to canoe through the mangroves and enjoy the famous Pinaisara Falls from both above and below. The view of the mangroves changed on the way there and back due to the tides. The trail to Pinaisara Falls was an active mountain path, but it provided a great full-body workout. Our guide, Eri, made the experience even more enjoyable with her accurate explanations and lively conversation. She took many photos for us and shared information about the flora and fauna as well as life on the island. I would love to do this again if I have the chance!

I had limited canoeing experience, but I received thorough instruction and was able to participate safely. By chance, it was a new moon, and if the weather had been good, we could have seen the stars beautifully. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, so we couldn't see the stars, but the bioluminescent plankton were stunning, and I was satisfied with the experience of kayaking through the pitch-black night mangroves! I think this is a tour that you can't easily experience elsewhere!

マングローブは　以前何度もみているので、夜のマングローブは　どんなものか体験したくて申し込みました！カヌーの経験もとぼしかったのですが、しっかりとレクチャーしていただき　安全に参加出来ました。たまたま　新月にあたり　天気が良ければ　星も綺麗にみれたのですが、残念ながら天気が悪かったので　星は見れませんでしが　夜光虫が　とても綺麗に見れて　漆黒の夜のマングローブカヤック体験できて満足でした！他ではなかなか体験出来ないツアーだと思います！

Unfortunately, we couldn't go to Barasu Island due to bad weather, but instead, we participated in mangrove canoeing and canyoning! Since it was late October, it was cold, but they lent us wetsuits, so we were able to enjoy it without getting cold! The instructors, Bandii, Shoutarou, and Tarou, taught us a lot about Iriomote Island, which made it even more enjoyable. I definitely want to participate again when I visit Ishigaki Island. I will come back for a Barasu Island revenge!!

バラス島は悪天候の為残念ながら行くことが出来ませんでしたが、マングローブのカヌーと代わりにキャニオニングに参加しました！！
10月の後半だったので寒かったのですが、ウエットスーツを貸して頂いたので体を冷やすことなく出来ました！
またインストラクターのバンディさん、ショウタロウさん、タロウさんが西表島について沢山教えて下さったのでより楽しむことができました。
石垣島を訪れる際も是非参加したいです。またバラス島リベンジしに来ます！！

I chose the snorkeling and Yufu Island course. I was a bit anxious since it was my first time snorkeling, but the guide was very kind and showed us around underwater. They took great photos, which became wonderful memories, and I am very satisfied! We participated as a family of four (with elementary school children). In October, it was a bit hot wearing long sleeves and long pants, but it was perfect for sun protection, insect repellent, and injury prevention. Additionally, the half-day course was just right for my children and me, who are not very active. Above all, the Pinai Sara Falls were breathtaking. There were times when the canoe didn't go in the direction I wanted, but the instructions were thorough, so I think beginners will feel at ease. It was a very fulfilling tour and became a wonderful memory. I participated alone, but while trekking with the guide, I learned about the guiding system of Iriomote Island and their efforts towards nature, which deepened my understanding of the island's environment. Of course, I also received explanations about the plants we encountered along the way, which was educational.

It was my first experience with canoeing, but I received a lecture beforehand, which made me feel secure in taking part. Canoeing in the great outdoors was amazing! I had heard that solo canoes are more likely to tip than tandem ones, so I was a bit nervous at first, but by the return trip, I felt much more relaxed and was able to enjoy the scenery while moving through nature.

The waterfall was more impressive than I had imagined and was absolutely fantastic! I felt so energized that it seemed to wash away all the fatigue from my work. Watching the waterfall while eating the delicious rice balls from the lunch provided was the best feeling! I heard that the guide and the owner prepared the lunch in the morning.

After the tour, I received image data that the guide took during the tour, and they were all wonderful, bringing me happiness just by looking at them. The guide was indeed skilled at taking photos!

I was extremely satisfied with this very fulfilling half-day plan!

大自然の中のカヌーは最高でした(^^)1人乗りは2人乗りより落ちやすい事を聞いていたので、初めはドキドキでしたが、帰りの道ではだいぶ余裕が出来て周りをのんびり見ながら大自然を堪能して楽しみながら移動できました。

滝は、想像以上に迫力があり、最高でした！！パワーを沢山貰い、今までの仕事の疲れなどが消えた位本当に素晴らしかったです。そして、そこで配布された美味しいおむすびのあるお弁当を食べながら滝を眺めるのは最高の気分でした！
お弁当はガイドさんとオーナーさんが朝作ってくれたそうです(^^)

ツアー後にガイドさんがツアー中に撮ってくれた画像データもいただき、どれも素敵で見てるだけで幸せな気持ちになります。さすがガイドさんは写真の撮り方も上手でした！

半日で大変充実したプランで大満足でした！！

I was satisfied that everything I wanted to do in the morning and afternoon was covered! Canoeing and trekking led to beautiful waterfalls, which was refreshing.

It was my friend's first time snorkeling, but the thorough explanations about safe swimming areas and dangerous zones made us feel secure and enjoy it! We were lucky enough to see a total of 4.5 sea turtles, which was surprising!

I also liked the atmosphere of our guide. They were kind, but maintained a comfortable distance, which was very nice! Additionally, I really appreciated that the guide took many photos throughout the activities. The underwater photos were wonderful.

Separately, I participated in a night kayak with the same Iriomote Nature School the day before, and that was also a fantastic experience. I would definitely recommend it to acquaintances who are considering activities in Iriomote!

On the day of the tour, they picked me up from the hotel where I was staying and also provided transportation back to the port. Additionally, the special Yaeyama soba for lunch (enjoyed in the best setting while soaking in the energy of the Pinaisara Falls) and the coffee time towards the end of the tour left a wonderful impression not just with the tour content, but also with the hospitality before and after.

It was a tour where even someone like me, who lives in the city and rarely has the chance to connect with nature and hasn't been exercising much, could enjoy kayaking and trekking! Since I stayed in Ishigaki Island instead of participating from Iriomote Island, I was looking for a tour that I could join locally. However, since I don't usually exercise much, I thought I might not have the stamina for a full-day tour, so I consulted with my family and decided to try a half-day tour.

For kayaking, we could choose between single and double kayaks, and this time I went with a double kayak with my family. Steering was challenging, but it felt stable. The staff kindly taught us how to paddle, and the guide was great, which made the experience very enjoyable. After about 30 minutes of kayaking, we headed towards the waterfall. We were provided with river shoes for trekking, so it was no problem to climb even in wet areas. I wore trekking shoes, but since my feet got wet from kayaking, I was able to borrow river shoes when preparing at the office, so there was no worry about my shoes.

When we arrived at the waterfall, we enjoyed the rice ball bento they prepared for us and jumped into the waterfall! My family said it felt amazing. If you bring a change of clothes from the start, I highly recommend jumping into the waterfall.

The staff took a lot of photos for us, so we have wonderful memories from the day. Next time, I want to try canoeing by myself.

漕ぎ方をスタッフの方が親切に教えてくれるし、ガイドもしてくれたのでとても良かったです。30分くらいカヤックして、到着したところから滝を目指します。最初に貸してくれる沢シューズでトレッキングするため、足元が濡れたところでも問題なく登れます。トレッキングシューズを履いていきましたが、カヤックで足元が濡れるため、事務所で準備するときに沢シューズを貸していただきましたので、靴の心配はありません。滝に着いたら、用意してくれたおにぎりのお弁当を頂いて、滝にドボン！すごく気持ちよいと家族が言ってました。最初から着替えを持ってきている人はぜひ滝に飛び込むとよいでしょう。
またたくさんスタッフの方が写真を撮ってくださいましたので、とてもよい思い出が残りました。今度は一人カヌーで体験したいです。
注意点とすれば、9月末の西表島の日差しは暑く、上も下も肌が隠れる格好がよいです。びっくりするぐらい暑すぎて、肌を露出していることに後悔しますので準備していってください。あと水分補給対策はしたほうがよいでしょう。

We paddled in two-person canoes with four friends, gradually making our way upstream through the beautiful scenery of the mangroves. From the trekking point, we climbed breathlessly through the lush jungle towards the Pinai Sara Falls, finally arriving at the magnificent waterfall. It was my first time on Iriomote Island, and I was quite lost, but I signed up for this tour and it was great. I was very satisfied as I could experience everything efficiently. There were times when it rained, but it didn't bother me, and I had fun. I recommend this tour as it allows you to experience the beauty of Iriomote Island's nature.

I challenged myself to a solo canoe ride, and afterwards, I trekked through the jungle aiming for the Piñal Sara Falls! The dive into the pool after sweating was so refreshing. The guide also shared information about various plants and creatures, making it a fun tour! I heard there was a snorkeling tour in the afternoon, so I’d love to try that next time too!

It had been about 10 years since I participated in the Pinai Sawa Falls tour, and I had a great time. The tour members were quite a lively bunch, but the guide was calm and attentive, which made me feel at ease.

As expected, the view from the top of the falls was amazing, but looking down always makes my legs feel weak... (laughs)

I truly felt that the experience in that space can only be had in Iriomote Island, and I would love to go again. I also hope to join other tours if I have the stamina... (laughs)

10年ぶりぐらいのピナイサーラの滝ツアーの参加でしたが、楽しく過ごすことができました。
ツアーメンバーがなかなかのてんやわんやの人たちが多かったのですが、
ガイドさんも落ち着いて丁寧に対応していたので、こちらも安心でした。
やはり、滝の上からの景色は最高でしたが、覗き込むのは毎回足がすくむというか…(笑)

あの空間の体験は西表島でしかできないと改めて感じたところですが、
また行ってみたいと思いますし、他のツアーにも参加できればと思います！

西表島マングローブカヤック+トレッキングツアー　マイナスイオンたっぷりのピナイサーラの滝でランチ＜昼食付き／送迎選択可／西表島発＞

I don't usually exercise, so even a half-day tour was quite challenging. But it was fun! 日頃運動不足だったので、半日ツアーでもそれなりにハードでした。でも楽しかった！

The tour guide did an excellent job guiding us. When my partner was struggling with how to paddle the canoe, the guide helped by pulling us along with a rope and made sure to communicate effectively, which was very helpful. Being over sixty, I found canoeing in the summer heat quite challenging, and the subsequent trekking involved some steep paths, so even the half-day course required a fair amount of stamina. However, the stunning views we reached were truly moving, and jumping into the cool waters of the waterfall felt exceptional after the heat. The guide also took many photos for us and pointed out great spots for Instagram, resulting in some wonderful pictures that I wanted to post. Additionally, the rice balls we had for lunch were made with local rice and were very tasty. This was my second time at Pinaisara, while it was my partner's first, and it turned out to be a wonderful memory. Although it was a bit tough on a hot day, I’m glad we participated.

ツアーガイドさんはそつなく上手にガイドしてくださいました。相方がカヌーの漕ぎ方に戸惑っていたところ、紐でつないでひっぱって進んでくださったり、きちんと目配せもしてくださって助かりました。自分が還暦越えの年齢だというのもありますが、夏の暑さの中でのカヌー漕ぎはそれなりに大変ですし、その後のトレッキングもけっこう険しい道を進むので、半日コースでもそれなりに体力を使います。そうしてたどり着いた先の景色のよさには感動ひとしおですし、火照った体で飛び込む滝壺の気持ちよさも格別でした。ガイドさんには写真もたくさんとっていただいて、インスタ映えするポイントなんかも教えていただき、投稿に使いたくなる上手な写真が多かったのもよかったです。あと、昼食でいただいたおにぎりも地元のお米ということで、とてもよいお味でした。自分は2回目のピナイサーラ、相方は初めてでしたが、とてもいい思い出になり、暑い日で少し大変でしたが、参加してよかったと思いました。

I went on a family trip with my parents. It had been a while since I traveled with them since becoming a working adult, and we created the best memories together on Iriomote Island, making it a fulfilling day!

In the morning, we fully absorbed the power of nature through a mangrove tour and trekking! In the afternoon, during the transfer to Yubu Island, we had many enjoyable conversations, making it a fun tour.

The staff were young and full of energy, and their excellent service contributed to a really enjoyable experience. I felt that Iriomote Island still has so much charm, and I definitely want to come back again. Thank you very much!
