I participated in a canoe trip with my girlfriend. It seems that during winter, most ferries to Uehara Port are canceled, so we took the ferry to Ohara instead. We almost missed it because we woke up late.

From Ohara Port, there was a replacement bus to Uehara Port, where we met up with our guide.

The canoeing started quickly after a brief explanation. It was quite charming and enjoyable. The stand-up paddleboarding seemed challenging for the women when they came out of the river against the headwind.

It seems that many shops are often closed for lunch, so everyone was eating at one place. We made do with the bread we had bought.

The ox cart ride was only about 400 meters to the island, so it felt a bit short, but I felt lucky to hear the driver play the sanshin while singing.

The journey was not boring thanks to the guide's explanations! We were taken back to Ohara Port and were able to return on the 5 PM ferry. I had a great vacation! Thank you!

帰りは大原港まで送っていただき17時の便で帰ることができました。良いバカンスを楽しめました！ありがとうございました。

After kayaking through the mangroves, we went for a bit of canyoning to Nara Falls. We swam across the pool with a lively family. We had a fantastic time listening to our guide Kaede talk about the nature of Iriomote Island, the Iriomote wildcat, and the crested serpent eagle.
In the afternoon, we leisurely crossed to Yufu Island while being rocked by water buffalo. The gelato was exquisite. They didn't have that 30 years ago when I came. I hardly felt the passage of time; it truly is a World Heritage site.

I was able to enjoy riding a canoe with my friends and take lots of photos. The water buffalo cart to Yufujima moved at a leisurely pace, which was very pleasant. I made wonderful memories with a lovely family while canoeing.

The sea around Balas Island is very beautiful! They also found sea turtles for us and took great photos. I was worried because the children's life jackets seemed old and had parts coming off. I didn't feel very good, possibly because I didn't get along well with the guide.

I experienced SUP for the first time and it was so much fun! More than anything, our guide, Tacky, was incredibly thorough in his explanations. The conversations during the bus ride and throughout the experience were entertaining, making the time enjoyable from the start! During the experience, he shared information about the plants, and whenever we observed something curiously, he quickly explained it, which made me happy to learn more about Iriomote Island! At the end, when the waves turned against us and we were struggling to move forward, he immediately came to our aid and helped us, allowing us to finish comfortably. He was so cool! His attentiveness, communication, and consideration for others were truly wonderful, and he was a guide who didn’t seem like the youngest at all! I wish him all the best in his future endeavors! It was a canoe course around Yufu Island. There were more trees than I expected, and it was challenging to paddle through the jungle, haha. Not only during the canoeing but also during the car ride, I enjoyed the discussions about the wildlife of Iriomote and how the ditches and roads are designed for them! I also received recommendations for good restaurants in Ishigaki and Iriomote!

In February, my family of four participated in a day trip from our accommodation in Ishigaki Island. It rained all day, but we enjoyed ourselves without feeling cold.

In the morning, we used kayaks for the mangrove cruise, which I had experienced once before. Since the lower part of your body gets wet, I recommend wearing quick-drying synthetic fibers. The tour involved kayaking and walking to a waterfall, making it a must-do experience on Iriomote Island, where you can immerse yourself in the subtropical rainforest jungle. Even without bringing a phone or camera, the tour guide takes photos and sends them to you via LINE later. The tour guide was kind, attentive, and a handsome guy who made the experience enjoyable.

In the afternoon, we took a water buffalo cart to Yubu Island for sightseeing. The cheerful man on the cart introduced us to the water buffalo and Yubu Island while we leisurely made our way to the island. He played the sanshin and sang, allowing us to fully enjoy the atmosphere of Okinawa. On Yubu Island, we had free time to explore the island, which is about 2 km in circumference, for about an hour.

My first time on Iriomote Island! It was also my first time on Barasu Island, and I was so excited! I was picked up just after 9:00 AM and the tour began. I learned a lot about the island's overview and history, as well as events during the COVID-19 pandemic. It seems that the operating company gives each guide a lot of discretion, and our guide (Diego) adjusted the schedule, including lunch time, based on our needs. He also took many great photos with a DSLR, which I really appreciated. Overall, I felt this tour offered great value for the price!

I had a really valuable experience exploring the mangroves on a stand-up paddleboard and playing at the waterfall in the back. The guide was kind and provided various explanations, making it enjoyable! The photos taken were also very beautiful, creating wonderful memories of the trip! I'm glad I chose this tour!

An impressive coral reef! 圧巻の珊瑚礁！

It was a rainy day, but the underwater scenery was incredibly beautiful and moving! Since it was during the afternoon low tide, a coral reef spread out right in front of us, creating a breathtaking view. I was also able to encounter a sea turtle for the first time, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! Even as a beginner in snorkeling, I had a great time. Since we were the only group that day, it felt private, and we were able to enjoy ourselves freely! I would love to try again during the hot season. One thing to note is that it gets quite cold on the way back to the port after getting out of the water, so I think a bath towel and warm clothing that can get wet are essential!

お天気の悪い日でしたが、海の中はとても綺麗で感動しました！午後の引潮の時間帯だったので、すぐ目の前に珊瑚礁が広がっており圧巻の景色でした。初めてウミガメにも遭遇でき、終始すごい〜の連続！シュノーケリング初心者でも充分楽しめました。当日は私たちの1組だけだったので、プライベート感もあり自由に過ごさせていただきました！また暑い季節に再チャレンジしたいです。一点、海を上がって港に戻るまでがとても冷えるので、バスタオルと濡れてよい防寒着は必須かなと思います！
