There were about 30 participants in the mangrove and canoe activity in Iriomote Island, and I was the only one alone. The canoeing was as expected from start to finish, except for one point. Even though it was a two-person canoe, it was faster overall than being alone. In the end, there was quite a distance to return to the shore. I paddled really hard. I might be the only one who was sweating as much as everyone else. Canoeing allowed me to have my own space, so it was enjoyable. Thank you very much.
人数全体は30名程の西表島マングローブとカヌー参加もお一人様は私だけ。カヌー始めから終わりまで一点を除き想定内。
2人で漕ぐカヌーはカップルと言えどトータルではお一人様よりスピードが出ますね。

I participated in a tour of mangrove canoeing and Yufushima. In the morning, I rode a water buffalo to Yufu Island. On the island, I was able to touch the water buffalo and feed them. I also saw beautiful butterflies and enjoyed delicious gelato, which made me very satisfied.
For lunch, I returned to Uehara Port and had a meal. I was able to get information about various shops, making it easy to choose.
In the afternoon, I enjoyed the mangrove nature by canoe. The weather wasn't that great, but it was so much fun that it didn't matter.

I experienced canoeing and sightseeing on Yubu Island. It was my first time on Iriomote Island, but thanks to the guide's extensive knowledge, I feel like I learned a bit more about the island and the mangroves.
In the morning, I enjoyed the nature of the mangrove forest while canoeing. We took a ferry from Ishigaki Island to Uehara Port on Iriomote Island, where we were welcomed by our guide, Macchan. It seems that ferries to Uehara Port are often canceled during this season (if canceled, there is a shuttle bus from Ohara Port), so we were lucky.
In the morning, we enjoyed a water buffalo cart tour of Yufu Island, and in the afternoon, we had a mangrove canoe tour. The experience of moving through the sea on a water buffalo cart was extraordinary and became a wonderful memory. It was a wonderful experience. I felt an excitement as if I had become the protagonist of an adventure novel. Our guide, Matsushita, explained things clearly about driftwood, living creatures, and the history of Yufu Island and Iriomote Island. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Iriomote Island and very cool, which left me in awe. The guide spoke with such enthusiasm that it made me feel joyful too, reminiscent of a certain adventurous professor from my university days who always brightened up the room. Due to the approaching typhoon, the snorkeling trip to Barasu Island that I was looking forward to was canceled, which was very disappointing. However, I was offered an alternative plan and went beach snorkeling instead. I didn't get to see the sea turtle, but I encountered clownfish, an eel, and even a sea snake, which was a bit scary, but it was a lot of fun! We were in a group, and I was with Matsuchan-sensei's team.
They provided explanations about the mangroves and took photos regularly.
I was worried about keeping up with the canoeing, but it was a leisurely tour that took its time, so it was great.
The weather was nice and hot, but I had a lot of fun!

I participated with my 6th-grade son and another person.
In the morning, we took on canyoning for the first time! We were provided with helmets, life jackets, and marine shoes. The marine shoes had a special sole that made them slip-resistant on rocky surfaces, so we could enjoy ourselves without worry. The beautiful river looked like something out of a Studio Ghibli movie, and our excitement was at its peak!
We slid down a water slide on the rocks and jumped off high cliffs, with both adults and kids screaming in delight as we made big splashes. Our guide, Yama-chan, took lots of photos, which made us very happy. There was a small child in our group, and Yama-chan was thoughtful enough to help find spots where they could jump from lower heights, which was great.
Around 11 AM, we returned to the port still in our wet swimsuits for a lunch break. We had two hours before the afternoon tour, and since it was hot, we relaxed and had lunch while drying off our swimsuits.
In the afternoon, we went on a SUP and kayak tour. We were given life jackets and marine shoes again. The scenery was stunning, with mangroves growing thickly on both sides, and I felt so glad I had come all this way.
As we continued, the river gradually narrowed, giving us a full jungle cruise experience. We all landed at a dry spot to carefully observe the mangroves and wildlife. We took lots of photos, creating wonderful memories.

The wind was strong, and the ferry from Uehara Port was canceled, but I received a phone call the day before with a thorough explanation. They came to pick me up at Ohara Port.
The tour was flexible, and we ended up sightseeing at Yufu Island in the morning. There were few people in the morning, allowing for a relaxed visit to Yufu Island, and riding the water buffalo was very soothing.
Initially, we had planned to do stand-up paddleboarding, but due to the wind, we switched to canoeing. Canoeing through the mangroves was a very valuable experience. I felt connected to nature and rejuvenated. Shoutarou's explanations were easy to understand and enjoyable!

ツアーも臨機応変に対応してくれて、午前中に由布島観光になりました。朝は人が少なく、ゆったりと由布島観光ができ、水牛に乗ってとても癒されました。

I participated with my wife and our three 8-year-old girls. In the morning, we did canyoning, and in the afternoon, we went canoeing (I actually preferred SUP, but we couldn't do it due to the tides).
The kids love playing in the water, like at pools, so they were really excited about canyoning. I thought the river water might be cold in October, but it was only a bit chilly, and both my wife and I had a great time. It's an activity I recommend for energetic children since they can participate safely. However, if you're not comfortable with heights or get scared easily, it might be better to skip it.
I was looking forward to the SUP in the afternoon, but we received a notice the day before that we would be canoeing instead. We enjoyed a relaxed time with beautiful views from the canoe and explanations about the mangroves. However, in the afternoon, there was suddenly heavy rain and strong winds, making it feel chilly. The guide mentioned that the weather in Iriomote Island can change quickly, so we felt it was just one of those days, and our family took it in stride.
I think active families will find it very satisfying. I would like to use this service again if I visit Iriomote Island.

子供はプールなどの水遊びが大好きなので、キャニオニングは大はしゃぎでした。10月で川の水は寒いかなと思ったのですが、ちょっと冷たいくらいで私も妻もとても楽しめました。子供も安心して参加できるので元気なお子様ならおススメのアクティビティです。高い所が苦手だったり、怖いのが苦手な方は控えた方が良いかもしれません。
午後のSUPが良かったのですが、前日に連絡が来て急遽カヌーになりました。
カヌーから見れる景色やマングローブなどの説明などゆったりした時間を過ごせました。ただ午後は一転大雨や強い風が吹いて肌寒く感じました。ガイドさんは西表島は天候が変わりやすいとの事なので、そういう日もあるんだなといった感じで私達家族に関してはへっしゃらでした。
アクティブな家族なら満足感が高いと思います。また西表島に行ったら利用したいと思います。

The north wind was strong, so we couldn't go snorkeling at Barasu Island, but we received a call the day before and were able to switch to canoeing. The boat to Uehara Port was also canceled, but they came to pick us up at Ohara Port, allowing us to smoothly enjoy the sightseeing at Yufu Island.
Although it was a large group tour, the group arrangements were made in advance, which allowed for a very smooth progression. 大人数のツアーでしたが、グループ編成は事前にされており、かなりスムーズに進行出来るように配慮されていました。しかし事務的な感じは一切なく、スタッフさんの楽しいトークを聞きながらアクティビティができました。アクティビティ後はホテル近くまで送迎をしてくれたり、すぐに写真も送ってくださいました。天候に左右される野外アクティビティですが、臨機応変でありながらしっかりプランニングされており、配慮満点。事前連絡含めて迅速かつ丁寧な対応でした。またpipiさんを利用したいです。

I experienced kayaking and a tour of Yubu Island. The kayaking was absolutely amazing! It seems that Iriomote Island usually has a lot of rain, but we were lucky to have rare clear weather during our experience, which felt great. Paddling through the mangroves felt like exploring a jungle, and I believe it was an experience unique to this tour. The instructor took many wonderful photos (and we received the data for free!), and the explanations were thorough, which made me very satisfied.
I also thoroughly enjoyed my first experience riding a water buffalo during the tour of Yubu Island. After arriving at Uehara Port, there was a shuttle service available, so it was easy to enjoy without a rental car. I definitely want to try another tour next time.

カヤックはとにかく最高でした！西表島は雨が多いようですが、私たちが体験したときは珍しく快晴だったようで、気持ちよかったです。マングローブの中はまるでジャングルの中を探検している感覚になるような空間で、きっとこのツアーでしか体験できないようなものだったと思います。インストラクターの方は素敵な写真をたくさん撮ってくださり(しかも無料でデータをもらえました！)、解説等も充実していてとても満足です。
その後の由布島観光も初めての水牛乗車を満喫できました。
上原港についてから、もちろん送迎もあるのでレンタカー無しで十分楽しめます。

I went to Yubu Island by mangrove canoe and riding a water buffalo!
It was my first time canoeing, but the guide taught me patiently, and I really enjoyed it!
The water buffalo that takes you to Yubu Island was very smart and cute!
The guide, Macchan, and Bandy were cheerful and kind, and they had a wealth of knowledge about the animals and plants of Iriomote Island, making our conversation very interesting and fun!
I would like to go on a tour with Pipi when I come back here!

I participated in a snorkeling tour at Barasu Island and a water buffalo cart tour at Yufu Island during my first visit to Iriomote Island. I was worried because the weather forecast predicted rain, but we were blessed with clear skies on the day, making it a fun day!
Especially, our guide Yume was very friendly and addressed all the participants by name, which made this first tour a pleasant experience. The snorkeling spots were adjusted according to the day's conditions, and I was able to see a sea turtle! I want to visit Iriomote Island again, and next time I would like to join a canyoning or trekking tour. Thank you!
初めての西表島に行きバラス島シュノーケルと由布島水牛車観光ツアーに参加させていただきました。
天気予報は雨予想だったので不安でしたが、当日は快晴に恵まれて楽しい一日になりました！
特にガイドのユメさんがとてもフレンドリーに接していただき、ツアー参加者全ての方に名前で声かけていただくなど初めてのツアーでしたが気持ちよく過ごす事ができました。

It was a day full of enjoyment on Iriomote Island! 西表島大満喫の1日になりました！

In the morning, I participated in a water buffalo cart tour on Yufu Island, and in the afternoon, I joined a mangrove kayak tour.
The water buffalo cart on Yufu Island was adorable as the buffalo walked leisurely, and the scenery from the slowly moving cart was peaceful and relaxing. Although the stay on the island was about an hour, I enjoyed it thoroughly. The brown sugar gelato from the gelato shop by the sea was delicious!
It was my first time kayaking, but our guide, Moo, taught us carefully, so I felt safe and had a great time. It was very refreshing to feel the great outdoors. I was able to take many photos and videos with a GoPro, creating wonderful memories.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience where I could relax while enjoying nature! The guides were all kind and entertaining, and I definitely want to go on this tour again. Thank you!
午前中は由布島の水牛車、午後はマングローブカヤックのツアーに参加しました。
由布島の水牛車は水牛がのんびり歩く姿がかわいくて、ゆっくり進む水牛車から見る景色はのどかでリラックスできる時間でした。島の滞在時間は1時間程度でしたが十分満喫できました。海沿いにあるジェラート屋さんの黒糖ジェラートが美味しかったです♡
カヤックは初めてでしたが、ガイドのムーさんが丁寧に教えてくれて安心して楽しめました。大自然を感じることができてとても気持ち良かったです。
GoProで写真や動画も沢山撮っていただけて良い思い出になりました。
全体的に、自然を満喫しながらのんびり過ごせる素晴らしい体験でした！ガイドの方は皆んな優しく面白くまたぜひ行きたいと思えるツアーでした。ありがとうございました！

The water buffalo was unique, very cute, and wonderful! Additionally, they provided guidance related to the places we passed while driving, and during the mangrove tour, they shared many lovely stories about the mangroves. The staff were kind and provided a lot of information, which made it very enjoyable. The mangrove canoeing was on a windy day, and I was quite swept away, but the staff were always watching and helped me, which made me feel very secure. It was a great tour that I could participate in without any worries, even alone!
スタッフの方々が親切で、いろんな情報を教えてくださり、とても楽しかったです。マングローブカヌーは風が強い日で、結構流されてしまいましたが、スタッフの方が常に見て助けてくれて、とても安心できました。1人でも不安なく参加できて良いツアーでした！

- Canoeing used more of my arms and shoulders than I expected, so I got tired, but it was fun. They taught me how to paddle without getting tired, so I want to paddle better next time.
- I was amazed by the strength of the water buffalo pulling us.

There seem to be several types of mangroves, and seeing them in person, along with listening to explanations, sparked my interest much more than just watching on TV. It was a lot of fun.
The staff member Yume was very bright, easy to talk to, and left a great impression.
Unfortunately, I couldn't see the Iriomote cat, but I had an interesting experience.
It seems that even locals rarely get to see the Iriomote cat.
Since downpours happen frequently, be prepared to get wet.
You will definitely get wet, but don't worry, there are showers and changing facilities available afterward.

Please be aware that all trash must be taken back with you, as there are no disposal areas.
マングローブはいくつか種類があるみたいで、テレビで見るのとは違い実際にみて一緒に説明を聞くことによってより興味がでて、とても楽しかったです。
スタッフはゆめちゃんが対応してくれました。
とても明るく、話しやすくとても好感の持てるスタッフでした。
残念ながら、イリオモテヤマネコは見ることは出来ませんでしたが、面白い体験をすることが出来ました。
そもそもイリオモテヤマネコは地元民でも滅多に会えるもんじゃないらしいです。
スコールがちょくちょく降るので、濡れる覚悟が必須です。
確実に濡れますが、終わったあとはシャワー、着替えが出来るので安心してください。

ゴミは完全持ち帰りとなり、どこにも捨てる場所が無いので気をつけてください。
