The last time I visited, I went river rafting on a leisure boat, so this time I wanted to do something with more activities, which is why I chose this tour.

There was a discrepancy between the meeting time listed on the voucher at the time of booking and the time I was told over the phone the day before. This required me to cancel and rebook the boat I had reserved the night before, which was a frustrating start. I was told that the schedule was based on the boats from Yaeyama Tourism, but that information wasn’t written anywhere, and I had no idea.

As for the activities, we did canoeing on both Ishigaki Island and Iriomote Island, and the water clarity was definitely better on Iriomote Island. Despite it being a bit hot, I enjoyed it comfortably.

The snorkeling at Barasu Island was canceled due to rough seas, and in the afternoon, we were switched to a tour of Yubu Island. Since Yubu Island has such beautiful nature, I wish they would minimize the number of signs and plates to show the scenery as it is.

I exchanged LINE information with the tour staff because they said they would send photos, but in the end, I never received any photos. I wonder what that was all about. I would like to visit Iriomote Island again if I have the chance, but the tour left me feeling a bit unsettled.

予約時のバウチャーに載っていた集合時間と前日電話で言われた時間が異なっていて、事前に予約していた船を前日夜にキャンセルと再予約が必要になり、いきなり出鼻を挫かれるスタートでした。八重山観光の船を基準にスケジュール組んでるからと言われましたが、そんなことどこにも書いてないし知らんし。。

肝心のアクティビティは、今回石垣島と西表島の両方でカヌーをしましたが、水のキレイ度が断然西表島の方が良く、少し暑いくらいのなか、気持ちよく楽しめました。

バラス島のシュノーケリングは海が荒れているため中止と前日に連絡があり、午後からは由布島観光に振替えました。由布島はせっかくの自然なのだから、案内のプレートや看板は極力減らしてそのままの景色を見せて欲しいなと思ってしまいました。

ツアーのスタッフの方が写真を送るからとLINE交換したのですが、結局写真は届くことはなく、あれはなんだったんだ。。
西表島は機会があれはまた行きたいですが、ツアーはちょいちょいもやもやする内容でした。

We walked along a path in the coastal forest, illuminated by flashlights, heading towards the river with our guide. It felt like an adventure even before getting on the canoe! Although I was a beginner at canoeing, we practiced paddling on land before getting in, and the instructions were given very carefully, which made me feel safe and able to enjoy the experience. While paddling, our guide explained many constellations and animals that are active at night.

It was bright due to the full moon, so we couldn't see the bioluminescent plankton in the middle of the river, but our guide found a spot where we could see them, and I was really moved when we discovered the sparkling plankton. I was also happy to hear the calls of owls and geckos. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

I made a mistake by wearing trekking pants over my swim trunks, so they got soaked from the rain and the spray from the waterfall. In the afternoon, I spent time only in my swimsuit, which made for a very cold experience on Yufuin Island in the bad weather.

Originally, we had planned to do mangrove stand-up paddleboarding and snorkeling at Balas Island, but due to strong winds, both activities were deemed dangerous. So, we switched to canyoning in the morning and mangrove canoeing in the afternoon.

I was really disappointed at first because I was looking forward to snorkeling and paddleboarding, but once we started the activities, both canoeing and canyoning turned out to be a lot of fun.

Canoeing on a wide river in a two-person canoe felt really nice. However, I think it's better to wear swimwear for canoeing. I attempted it in jeans, and my backside got wet enough that my pants were soaked!

Also, since there was quite a bit of canoeing involved, I, being a bit out of shape, am feeling a bit sore!

Even though it was raining, paddling with all my might warmed me up! Haha. I was able to enjoy observing various creatures like crabs and hermit crabs in the mangrove forest!

Along the way, the guide shared various knowledge about the characteristics of Iriomote Island and considerations for the local wildlife!

The recommended dishes at the diner were also delicious.

With guidance that is reassuring for beginners, we spent a luxurious time listening to interesting facts about mangroves and small animals. We were able to relax completely. We participated in our first snorkeling experience as a couple over 60 years old. In the morning, we also enjoyed canoeing, where we were carefully taught how to control the oars, and we successfully reached our destination without falling in. The subsequent trekking was fascinating and enjoyable, with interesting explanations about the plants in nature. The rice balls we had for lunch at the waterfall were also very delicious after the trek.

I participated with my son. However, the guide was attentive to our pace, and we enjoyed a comfortable jungle trekking experience without overexerting ourselves.

I participated alone. I usually don't exercise much, so I wasn't confident in my stamina, but I was able to enjoy both trekking and canoeing without any issues. Jumping into the pool at Pinai Sara Falls was incredibly refreshing. I didn't even mind that my makeup was coming off; I felt like a child again! Haha. The lunch provided (rice balls, fried chicken, etc.) was also very delicious.

The guide was very good at talking, and while listening to stories about the mangroves and wildlife of Iriomote Island, I was able to fully enjoy the nature of Iriomote Island. If I have the chance to go to Iriomote Island again, I would definitely like to participate again!

I was worried about the cold since it was said to be the coldest day of the year, but once I joined, the water was cold but not freezing.

I was also concerned about whether I could paddle the canoe, but once I got on, it was smooth sailing!

Throughout the journey and during the tour, we talked a lot about the island, nature, and food, so even though I was there alone, I had a great time.

Since I came to Iriomote Island knowing almost nothing about it, I learned a lot and my appreciation for the scenery changed.

I was really looking forward to my first night tour on Iriomote Island. Canoeing was a first-time experience for me, but I felt safe and enjoyed it thanks to the thorough instructions and supervision provided. I was satisfied to see many stars and bioluminescent plankton that I can't see in the city. The guide was very knowledgeable about stars and constellations and provided a lot of explanations. However, I was disappointed that I couldn't see the Milky Way because the moon was bright. The guide informed us of the time the moon would set that day and suggested that we stay up late to look at the night sky. So, I went to the beach in the middle of the night. Although the Milky Way was hidden behind thin clouds, the sight of the orange moon setting was very beautiful. I would like to join this tour again during the new moon to see the Milky Way.

During my stay on Iriomote Island, I was looking for a tour that would allow me to fully enjoy nature in a limited time, and I came across this tour by Monsoon. Ultimately, I was very satisfied as I was able to canoe through the mangroves and enjoy the famous Pinaisara Falls from both above and below. The view of the mangroves changed on the way there and back due to the tides. The trail to Pinaisara Falls was an active mountain path, but it provided a great full-body workout. Unfortunately, we couldn't go to Barasu Island due to bad weather, but instead, we participated in mangrove canoeing and canyoning! Since it was late October, it was cold, but they lent us wetsuits, so we were able to enjoy it without getting cold! The instructors, Bandii, Shoutarou, and Tarou, taught us a lot about Iriomote Island, which made it even more enjoyable. I definitely want to participate again when I visit Ishigaki Island. I will come back for a Barasu Island revenge!!

バラス島は悪天候の為残念ながら行くことが出来ませんでしたが、マングローブのカヌーと代わりにキャニオニングに参加しました！！
10月の後半だったので寒かったのですが、ウエットスーツを貸して頂いたので体を冷やすことなく出来ました！
またインストラクターのバンディさん、ショウタロウさん、タロウさんが西表島について沢山教えて下さったのでより楽しむことができました。

The mangrove canoeing and the Pinai Sara Falls were both packed with activities and I was very satisfied!! マングローブカヌーもピナイサーラの滝も盛りだくさんで大満足！！
