One child got seasick during the first 45 minutes of the boat ride. When we immediately informed the guide for the mangrove cruise about the seasickness, they quickly changed us to a boat with a restroom, allowing us to enjoy the cruise with peace of mind. We used this service with our family during Obon. This is my second time in Ishigaki Island, but when combined with Naha, I've visited Okinawa about ten times every year. I always enjoy snorkeling tours and option menus on the remote islands, but I realized I hadn't done any sightseeing on the islands? This was my first time participating. The hotel shuttle was convenient, and the bus was large and comfortable. Although the schedule was a bit tight, we were able to see all the highlights and I was very satisfied with the sightseeing. The coordination and guidance at each location were solid, allowing us to explore freely and comfortably while ensuring a safe and efficient visit to all three islands.

The mangrove cruise took place on a day close to high tide, but there were unique sights to see during low tide, and the captain's stories were entertaining.

On Yubu Island, the water buffalo cart crosses the sea, creating a scene filled with sky, ocean, and the water buffalo cart. I had imagined it would have a more rustic charm, but it turned out to be quite touristy with a comical side, which seemed to appeal to a wide range of generations. While on land, after confirming the return time for the water buffalo cart, we were free to explore. For lunch, we went to a cafeteria where we enjoyed a bento box featuring Okinawan ingredients, including rice made from black rice from Iriomote Island. As someone visiting Okinawa for the first time, I found the unique food delicious, and I even bought some souvenirs at Ishigaki Airport on the way back, thanks to the bento from Yubu Island. We took beautiful photos of flowers and the water buffalo in the water, and while we could relax on Yubu Island, it was hot, so we took breaks in cool buildings while exploring.

On Taketomi Island, I chose the water buffalo cart and bus tour. First, we took a bus from Taketomi Port to Kaiji Beach and Kondoi Beach. 上陸中は、戻りの水牛車の集合時間を確認したら、自由に見学します。
お昼は、各々食堂に行き頂くのですが、
沖縄食材を散りばめたお弁当で、西表島の黒米？のごはんがついています。沖縄方面は初めての私には珍しい食べものが多くとても美味しかったので、帰りの石垣空港でお土産に買ったものもあり、由布島のお弁当のおかげと思っています。
美しい花や、水に入っている水牛さんの写真を撮ったり、由布島では結構ゆっくりできますが、
暑いので涼しい建物のなかで休憩しつつの見学という感じでした。

竹富島は、水牛車とバス観光を選びました。
まず、バスで竹富港からカイジ浜や、コンドイ浜へ。各所時間は短いですが、遠浅の美しい浜が見えた時には、歓声が上がっていました。
そして、水牛車は、ブーゲンビリアの咲く赤瓦の街並みをゆっくりと進みます。

屋根があるので暑さは遮られ30分は結構すぐ過ぎて、ツアーも終盤です。
帰りの竹富港までのバスへの連絡もやたら良いので、町へ出て、買い物や、お茶のみをする時間はありませんが、短い時間でも３島巡りできるこのようなツアーでなければ、八重山諸島の旅行には来られなかったでしょう。
旅程そのものも、それを実行する側の機動力もあり、以前体験談等で見かけた客の声も反映され改善されているように見えましたし、素晴らしくよくできたツアーだと思いました。
今回は、下見を兼ねての一人旅でしたが、こんなに良いなら夫も連れて、また行きたいです。

It was a reward trip for my husband’s retirement. On the day of the trip, the rainy season had ended, and the sun was shining brightly. I was concerned due to my physical disability affecting my vision, but I was very satisfied with the unique experiences of the wind, scents, and sounds that could only be found in that place. I appreciated the mangrove cruise, the lunch made with delicious local ingredients served by the water buffalo cart man in Yufu, and the brother from Taketomi Island who played the sanshin for us. I am grateful to all the staff who assisted us in moving around.

Iriomote's mangrove cruise was easy to understand thanks to the detailed explanations from the guide, and the scenery while riding the water buffalo to Yufu was breathtaking! Traveling as a couple. This time, we booked a tour to leisurely visit two islands without being too greedy. Iriomote Island is rich in nature and perfect for relaxation, but if you're not an active person or nature enthusiast, you might find it a bit boring to stay for long periods since there are relatively few tourist spots for the size of the island. *However, it's a fantastic place for active people or nature lovers who want to stay longer.*

Yubu Island, on the other hand, has adorable cows. You can spend a decent amount of time there, so it's worth a visit.

Overall, the people in the Yaeyama Islands are laid-back, and there's less of the typical touristy pressure to buy things. However, Yubu Island did have a bit of a push for photos, which was a little disappointing.

All in all, we had a great time, so I give it four stars!

It was a wonderful experience. I'm glad I participated in this tour with my 76-year-old mother. Thanks to the staff's attentive service and good teamwork in communication, we were able to enjoy the tour smoothly without any worries. The lunch bento was made with local specialties and was very delicious. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained. The water buffalo moved slowly and leisurely, sometimes stopping for no reason or resting in the shade, which was very endearing and cute. I don't think such a flow of time exists in the city. I went at the end of February. It was cold and the weather was a bit rough, but I had a great time.

I was able to efficiently visit Iriomote, Yufu, and Taketomi, which was nice.

Overall, it was a good tour, but if I had to mention something, it was a bit confusing when we arrived at Iriomote Island because there were other tour groups at the same time, and it was hard to tell which boat to get on.

On Taketomi Island, I did some cycling. It was only for an hour, but I was able to go to various places, and the scenery was great! I would love to participate again if I have the chance.

Unfortunately, due to the cloudy sky, I couldn't see the blue of the southern sea and sky. However, I was able to fully enjoy the wonders of Iriomote, Yufu, and Taketomi Islands.

Among them, the stories from the guides on the boat, bus, and water buffalo were very charming. Their gentle way of speaking, with phrases like "grandma" and "grandpa," and their easy-to-understand explanations made it enjoyable.

What remains in my heart are the boats cutting through the wind over the forests and rivers, the sounds of the sanshin and singing, the Okinawan lunch, the gelato we ate on the beach, and picking up star sand at Kaiji Beach—there are so many memories.

　残念だったのは曇り空のため、南の海と空の青さを見ることはできませんでした。しかし、西表・由布・竹富島の素晴らしさを満喫することができました。

中でも、ボートやバス、水牛のガイドさんたちのお話がとってもチャーミングです。「おばあ」「おじい」など、優しい響きの語り口や分かりやすい説明で楽しかったです。
