It's a completely different world from the main island! Each island is totally different. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I chose to explore Taketomi freely, but getting around was inconvenient. Next time, I would like to rent a bicycle.

As expected from a tour, there was an explanation about the island inside the ferry, and the mangrove tour was educational. I used the "Iriomote, Yufu, Taketomi Island, Mangrove Tour + Water Buffalo Cart + Taketomi Island Bus Plan" for my 2-night, 3-day trip to Ishigaki Island. As the reviews suggested, opting for the bus tour on Taketomi Island was a great choice. Thanks to it, I was able to see all the places I wanted to visit efficiently. Additionally, at Hoshizuna Beach, I was able to find star sand, and they even provided bags for me to take some home. I highly recommend it.

This January in Okinawa was very cold and windy, and I was worried when the ferry to Iriomote Island was canceled, but I was able to go on this tour. I recommend the tours from Veltra because they are cheaper than booking on-site. The lunch time was at 10:30 AM, but since we gathered early in the morning, I was able to eat. Those on the three-island tour must have been hungry (there are no shops on Taketomi Island), and the bento was cold, the tempura was hard, and I wished for something delicious as a main dish.

I participated in a tour from Ishigaki to Iriomote, and then to Taketomi Island (glass boat + water buffalo).
Indeed, it might be difficult to visit all these islands at once without joining a tour.
Going from Ishigaki to Iriomote was good, and Yubu Island was nice.
However, Taketomi Island was not good. I was just made to wait, and I didn't even know what time the ferry was leaving. After arriving at Taketomi Island, I had to wait to board the glass boat. After getting off the glass boat, I had to wait again for the bus to the water buffalo experience. I wanted to return early on the last bus. After the experience, I had to wait about 50 minutes for the free shuttle bus to the ferry. It was a very wasteful use of time. I thought joining the tour would prevent such issues.

Traveling by water buffalo cart was relaxing, and we were very satisfied with the extraordinary atmosphere! The island exploration took about an hour, including lunchtime, so we couldn't see everything, but that was fine.
3. Taketomi Island
Be careful with the glass-bottom boat; if you get too absorbed, you might feel a bit nauseous! You can see the fish clearly. The walking distance on the island was a bit tough for my parents.

It was a cold day with bad weather. It wasn't the scenery I had imagined, but it was still a delight for nature lovers. The mangrove forest was impressive, and the only sighting of the kingfisher was captivating. I was moved when a kingfisher showed itself. If I had more time, I would have liked to join a tour to see the giant trees and waterfalls of the kingfisher.
Yufuin Island is covered in deep forests, giving it a mysterious feeling. Personally, I was particularly impressed by seeing the Papilio butterfly and the starfruit, which shows growth from flower to fruit, at the butterfly garden.
The bus driver's guidance was wonderful, and I had a fun time learning about the island!
