We took a tour-exclusive ferry from Ishigaki Port to Ohara Port on Iriomote Island. After transferring to a bus, we rode a water buffalo to Yufu Island. We had a slightly early lunch with a bento and spent an hour exploring. After riding the water buffalo back to the bus, we boarded a mangrove sightseeing boat on Iriomote Island. It was cloudy, and although the temperature was 20°C, it felt quite cold. With the windows wide open, I wished I had a down jacket, fleece, or a lined hoodie. The guide provided fun explanations, and we learned about the mangroves. We then arrived at Ohara Port and took a dedicated ferry to Taketomi Island. The best part of the tour was that we could go to Taketomi Island without any waiting time.

We boarded a bus to the water buffalo experience location. We swayed through the streets on the water buffalo. There was about 30 minutes of free time left, but since it was around 3 PM and New Year's Day, many shops were closed. We found a small café and ordered coffee and purple sweet potato soft serve. We ate outside, which was chilly.

We got back on the bus to Taketomi Island Port, transferred to the ferry, and disbanded on Ishigaki Island. Overall, it was a fulfilling tour with many different modes of transportation.

バスに乗り水牛体験の場所へ。ゆらゆら街中を水牛で陸地を移動。残りの自由行動３０分ほどあるが、１５時くらいだったので午前の営業終わってたり元旦なのでお店がやってない。小さなカフェを見つけてコーヒーと紅芋ソフトクリームを注文。外で食し寒い。
バスに乗り込み竹富島港へ。フェリーに乗り換え石垣島で解散。
と、沢山の乗り物を乗り継ぎ満喫するツアーである。

The weather wasn't great, so I was worried about getting seasick, but it was totally fine. After the mangrove cruise tour, I took a sightseeing bus to the water buffalo cart station on Yubu Island. Fortunately, one of the staff members could play the sanshin, so we enjoyed the ride both ways. I was impressed to learn that they train the buffalo without using whips. The lunch on Yubu Island was also delicious.

On Taketomi Island, I chose to go cycling. However, we chose to rent bicycles on Taketomi Island, and it was a shame that we didn't have enough time. After the two-hour bike rental, we planned to walk around the village for about 30 minutes, but we were quickly taken by car to the ferry terminal. Since we had a longer stay on Yufu Island, I wished they could shorten that time a bit and increase our time on Taketomi Island instead.

I was a bit concerned about my physical stamina since I was with my elderly parents, but we used boats, water buffalo carts, and buses, so there were no particular issues. We were able to ride the water buffalo cart twice; the first time we were at the back, and the second time at the front, which was quite enjoyable. Personally, I would have liked a bit more time to explore Yubu Island rather than just the mangrove tour. Overall, I was satisfied with the efficient visit to the three islands. Thank you very much.

The schedule was quite tight until we reached Taketomi Island, so we kept our time there free and enjoyed parfaits at a café on the island. It was great to see the mangrove forests and to ride slowly on a water buffalo cart. However, the weather was rainy, and I wore a raincoat while renting a bicycle, but I still got soaked. If the weather had been nice, it would have been truly amazing.

I participated on November 4th. It was a terrible start with heavy rain from the morning, but after that, it was on and off. It seems it had been raining since the beginning of November, so both the sea and the river were muddy, which was very disappointing. The day trip course was good, but it was still quite unfortunate. It was crowded with participants from many tour companies, but we were able to go smoothly without much waiting.
