First of all, thank you to the three guides for your assistance! I was able to enjoy the excitement of being in nature! You picked me up at the hotel on time, and the return transfer was smooth as well. The content of the tour was honestly a bit underwhelming compared to my expectations! While we were shown some interesting places, it was relatively cold, and I didn't encounter many living creatures. Additionally, it was cloudy, so there were no stars at all. I was struggling to find winter activities, but since I was staying on Iriomote Island, I decided to sign up for a night tour. This was a great decision!

It was a night after a light rain during the day, but the weather cleared up, and we were able to see a starry sky with shooting stars. At the viewing spot recommended by our guide, there was nothing obstructing our view, and it was a very soothing experience.

Then, we went on a night jungle tour. We were able to enjoy seeing coconut crabs, crayfish, and tropical plants, with our guide searching for and explaining them to us. I was also amazed by the guide's extensive knowledge! It was a valuable experience to feel connected to nature.

It was pitch dark and hard to see my feet, and I had some worries about strange creatures suddenly appearing, but our guide Yuya was calm and reassuring, which made me feel incredibly safe. We found the eggs of the Japanese tree frog and peeked into the burrows of the land crabs, spending time like elementary school kids coming home from school, which was fun! I love night trekking, so I enjoyed wandering through the forest. It was great when everyone turned off their lights to gaze at the starry sky together. Next time, I want to find the Southern Cross. I had heard that many creatures are hard to find in winter, and true to that announcement (though I wished it weren't true), I didn't encounter the expected wildlife. What I did see was just a small part of a crab when I shone a light deep into a hole. A large and beautifully patterned moth called the Ootomoega fluttered around, occasionally landing on participants. Normally, I would want to swat away a moth, but everyone was captivated by this rare creature. You might think everyone would be disappointed, but that wasn't the case at all. The guide's explanations left a good impression, and we enjoyed the feeling of being part of an exploration team. Most importantly, that day offered a rare view of a starry sky in winter on Iriomote Island. I gazed silently at the countless stars I had never seen before, savoring a special feeling that only those who witnessed it could understand. The starry sky was truly beautiful, so if we could have sat back and enjoyed stargazing at the beach in addition to searching for wildlife, I think it would have been a ★5 experience.

Good photos are hard to come by, but I did capture one of the Ootanawatari, a fern that grows on trees and rocks, which was quite impressive.

I participated in a tour of Iriomote Island for the first time.

The night tour involves walking through thickets with a flashlight, searching for creatures near a small waterfall. Since it was winter, there weren't many animals, but the guide worked hard to find some. We were able to see hermit crabs, crabs, and fireflies.

The top recommendation is stargazing! Honestly, I didn't have high expectations, but I was completely overwhelmed!! 1番のおすすめは星空鑑賞です！正直そこまで期待はしていませんでしたが、とにかく圧倒されました！！ナイトツアーの最中も、既に見たことのない密度の星たちに感動していましたが、ガイドさんおすすめの公園に移動してからの星空が本当に素晴らしく、間違いなく人生でも指折りの体験が出来ました。まるで別世界にきたと錯覚するほどの密度の星を眺めるために公園の芝生の上で横になって、星座を探したり、流れ星を待ったり、他の参加者の方々と話したりしていました。いつまで見ても飽きることのない素敵な空でした。最後には、ガイドさんが星空をバックに素敵な写真も撮ってくれました。

This time, our main goal was to find coconut crabs, but we couldn't find any. However, we were able to spot the Yaeyama green tree frog, a bird taking shelter under a leaf from the rain, a ton-ton-mii, hairy crabs, and hand shrimp. Since the children had never experienced a night walk before, they seemed to enjoy searching for creatures with a light. The guide shared various information related to Iriomote Island beyond just the creatures, and although it was a short time, we were able to have a wonderful experience.

I walked through the jungle, learning about the names and habits of plants and animals with our guide, Macchan. When we emerged from the jungle onto the coast, I was moved by the stunning starry sky. The autumn weather in Iriomote Island was mostly cloudy, and there was light rain on the day of our visit. Since we couldn't see the starry sky, we explored the sandy beach instead. It was so much fun searching together with the guide and the other participants. During the jungle exploration, we were excitedly pointing out, "Look over there!" and "Wow, that's huge!" I participated in a night tour on Iriomote Island, and it was incredibly fun.

First of all, moving through complete darkness with no streetlights, just a flashlight, was an exciting experience that you can't have in the city. I was amazed at how deep the night can be... it's a simple thing, but it really struck me. As I walked through the jungle at night, I felt a thrill wondering what kind of animals I might encounter.

Although we couldn't see a sky full of stars, we did meet two coconut crabs that we were hoping to see!

These creatures were surprisingly large, vibrant, and full of life.

Seeing my husband, who loves animals, encounter the coconut crab and express joy like I had never seen before made me truly glad I participated.

There was a hiccup with the transportation. We made a reservation for three people through Veltra, but they said they only received payment for two, so they wouldn't accept cash for the remaining amount.

They asked to see proof of payment, like the reservation confirmation email and the payment completion email. I had them on hand, so I showed them. (I think it's fine to use this as a last resort, but it's not good to doubt the customer from the start. Shouldn't the company confirm first?)

In the end, we had to wait outside the microbus until Veltra confirmed our reservation, which created a bit of a tense atmosphere, but we were able to participate without any issues.

The tour guide was friendly and seemed to love animals and plants, which made it enjoyable. As for the animals and unusual creatures, we didn't see many, but I guess that's just the luck of the draw.

ツアーは奥まで行っても景色自体は変わり映えする物でもないので、うちの子や同じツアーの女の子も最後は早く帰りたいと少しぐずっていました。
同じツアーに参加していた男の子は怖いものみたさでずんずん進んで楽しそうではありました。

何がみえるかは運としたとしても、ちょっとコスパは悪いかなって感じです。

Today, it was cloudy, and I thought it might be difficult to see the stars... so I had almost given up on stargazing, but just as we got off the bus, the clouds parted, and we were able to enjoy a sky full of stars. (It was cloudy again by the time we reached the sandy beach.)

Navigating through the pitch-black jungle with only a flashlight was thrilling, but our guide made sure to check for safety, allowing us to enjoy the experience with peace of mind.

We were able to see various creatures, including coconut crabs, and it felt like we were intruding on their habitat.

The explanations about the plants were interesting, and I found it fascinating how the creatures and people of Iriomote Island coexist.

Next time, I definitely want to see the starry sky stretching to the horizon from the sandy beach.

今回は明るい笑顔が爽やかなしょうたろうさんにガイドしていただきました。

今日は曇天で星空を見るのは難しいかも……とのことで、星を見るのは半ば諦めていましたが、バスを降りたところでちょうど雲が切れて満点の星空を楽しむことができました。(砂浜に出る頃には曇っていましたが)

真っ暗なジャングルを懐中電灯だけで進むのはスリルがありましたが、ガイドさんがしっかりと安全確認をしてくださっているので、安心して楽しむことができました。

ヤシガニをはじめ、色々な生き物が姿を見せてくれて、彼らの住処にお邪魔している感覚がありました。

植物の説明も面白く、西表島の生き物や人々と共生している様が興味深かったです。

今度はぜひ砂浜で水平線まで広がる星空を見たいです。

I wanted to do a night jungle exploration and stargazing, so I searched various sites, and I found that Veltra had the lowest price and very good reviews, so I decided to book with them.

The stargazing was on a full moon night, so I couldn't see much, but the full moon sky was bright and very beautiful.

During the jungle exploration, I was very moved to see many creatures! I encountered a coconut crab twice, and there were also rare crabs and hermit crabs!

Finally, they took us to an observation deck where we could even see fireflies, which made me very satisfied!

The guide was handsome, very nice, and knowledgeable, making it enjoyable for both adults and children. They also took photos for us and sent them for free later, creating great memories.

ナイトジャングル探検＋星空鑑賞がしたくて色々なサイトで探したのですがベルトラさんが最安値でとても評判が良かったのでこちらで申し込みさせて頂きました。
星空鑑賞は満月の日だったのであまり見れなかったですが満月の星空も明るくてとても綺麗でした。
ジャングル探検はたくさんの生き物を見れてとても感動しました！
ヤシガニも2回遭遇できて他にも珍しいカニ、ヤドカリがいました！
最後に展望台に連れて行ってもらいホタルまで見れてとても満足でした！

The round-trip car service to the hotel was very helpful.

The course felt like it was going through a jungle, with moments where we had to push through between trees and navigate some thrilling ups and downs that made me wonder if we were really going this way. It was a night cruise that offered an experience not easily found in Tokyo, and it was quite interesting! 😊

I was happy to see a hawk, frogs, scorpions, and coconut crabs this time!

The weather was nice, and we were able to see a beautiful full moon! Even with the lights off, the moonlight was so bright that it cast shadows, which surprised me.

Next time I come to Iriomote Island, I want to see a beautiful starry sky!

ジャングルの中を入っていくようなコースで、木と木の間をかき分けて進んでいく場面があったり、ここ進んでいくの？と思うような段差を下ったり上がったりとスリルもあって、なかなか東京では体験できないナイトクルーズだったので面白かったです☺️

今回はハブ、かえる、サソリ、ヤシガニなどを見ることができて嬉しかったです！

天気が良くてきれいな満月も見れました！ライトを消しても月明かりだけでも影ができるほど夜なのに明るくて驚きました。

I wanted to experience the night on Iriomote Island, so I stayed there for one night and participated in a night tour. Just before the tour, there was a heavy rain. The rain stopped before we entered the mountains, and I headed up wearing the borrowed shoes. I discovered a coconut crab, a snake, and a cricket. After that, the sky cleared up, and while driving, we spotted an owl on the power lines and observed it. We were able to stargaze on a bridge. The starry sky was beautiful and moving, but I felt a bit disappointed because the night tour involved a short round trip and we were behind another group, so I missed seeing some of the things that had escaped. However, I am grateful for the experience, as this is probably what a night on Iriomote Island is really like.

夜の西表島を体験したくて、西表島に一泊、ナイトツアーに参加。ツアー直前に豪雨。山に入る前には雨も止み、貸してもらった靴で山へ。ヤシガニ、蛇、コロギスと発見。その後は空も晴れてきて、車移動、途中で電線にフクロウを発見、観察、橋の上で星空観察できました。星空はキレイで感動しましたが、ナイトツアーは短距離の往復と前を行くグループの後で、発見したモノも逃げてしまって見れなかったりで、ちょっと残念だと感じました。でも、コレが現実の西表島の夜かなと体験できた事に感謝しています。

I had a great time.
At first, I was worried because it was cloudy and a little rainy, but the jungle was full of life even in the rain, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
After a while, the rain stopped, and the stars were beautifully visible. However, I was told that on clear days, even more stars can be seen, so I look forward to my next visit!
The guide was very knowledgeable, and I could feel that they were doing their best to find creatures for us (we actually encountered some).
If I have the chance to go to Iriomote Island, I would like to use this service again for a stargazing revenge.
