The mangroves on Iriomote Island are amazing, and if you're considering a remote island tour from Ishigaki Island, I definitely think you should see them at least once. It was cloudy, very windy, and cold, but the early morning tour was better because the river wasn't rough, and we could see a lot of fish. (If you participate in winter, it's a good idea to bring a light down jacket or something similar, even if it becomes extra luggage.)

The optional water buffalo cart tour on Taketomi Island was very relaxing and enjoyable! If you go, be sure to ride and listen to the guide's songs and stories! The bus tour was also helpful since it was a cold day with bad weather.

I thought it would be nice if we could choose whether to take photos with the water buffalo. (I had already purchased photos with the water buffalo on Yubu Island.) There were opportunities to view from the car window as well as to walk around, making it truly recommended for first-time visitors to Ishigaki Island. Lunch was included, and it was delicious at a restaurant with a great view, allowing us to enjoy local specialties from Ishigaki and Okinawa. One of the best parts was being able to get off at Ishigaki Airport at the end. Since I participated on the last day of my trip, being dropped off at the airport to catch my flight was a huge help. The guide's chatter, singing, and playing the sanshin were very skilled and created great memories. If I had to say something, it felt a bit rushed at times. There were a few places I wished we could have spent a little more time at. But I understand that it's not possible to see everything.

I made a reservation because I wanted to go to Kabira Bay, and it exceeded my expectations. The bus guide's stories were fascinating, and they played the sanshin and sang on the bus. For lunch, we had local beef hamburgers at a restaurant from the Higashi Bus group. At the sightseeing spots, there were souvenir shops where you could buy local products. They also had sugarcane juice. The glass boat tour at Kabira Bay had a group discount, which was very economical. It was a lot of fun.
