Almost everyone was trying stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and snorkeling for the first time! The instructors were very thorough, so I was able to enjoy it to the fullest without any worries, even as a beginner! Thanks to the many wonderful photos taken with the GoPro, I'm reminiscing while looking back at the pictures 😊 It was such a fun experience!!!
At the end, they also recommended a lot of great restaurants for our last bus ride, so I’m looking forward to enjoying the rest of my trip in Ishigaki! ✈️

I participated because I wanted to see various creatures and also observe the starry sky on Ishigaki Island for the first time. The starry sky was incredibly beautiful, and lying on the sandy beach to watch it was the best! The main focus was searching for coconut crabs, and I encountered four of them, including a rare baby coconut crab! The kids also had a great time, so it was wonderful. Thank you for the lovely memories.

If you have the chance to be guided by either of these amazing individuals, you can rest assured that you'll be in great hands!

After that, you can stroll through the forest and limestone caves, looking for insects, animals, and plants. You can enjoy tracking with a guide while listening to explanations about the coconut crabs and bats of Ishigaki Island. However, the explanations about the stars may be somewhat lacking, so if you want to fully enjoy the night sky, I recommend joining a different tour.

I had a great time exploring Ishigaki Island and Taketomi Island. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so the sea wasn't the beautiful blue you see in photos, but I was still moved by the light blue waters of Kabira Bay. For lunch, I enjoyed a set meal with a variety of Okinawan dishes, including some I had never tried before.
Speaking of Taketomi Island, it's famous for its water buffalo. It was a dream of mine to ride one someday, and I was so happy to finally experience it! Orion, the water buffalo, was a relaxed and adorable creature.
After the water buffalo experience, I wasn't quite sure where to go next or what the recommended spots were, so I ended up just wandering around. I would have appreciated a pamphlet with recommended spots or courses for Taketomi Island in advance.
That said, I had a fantastic day overall and was very satisfied.
初の石垣島と竹富島をたくさん楽しめました。あいにくの曇りだったので写真で見るようなブルーの海ではなかったですがそれでも川平湾は水色で綺麗だったので感動しました。ランチは沖縄らしいお惣菜がたくさんある定食で初めて食べるものもあって楽しめました。
竹富島といえば、水牛です。こちらはいつか乗ってみたい！と夢だったので叶って幸せすぎました。水牛のオリオンくんはのんびりマイペースな子で可愛かったです。
竹富島の水牛の後はどこにいくのがたのしいのか？オススメスポットは？といまいち次の行き先が分からずウロウロと散歩していただけになってしまったので、事前に竹富島でのオススメスポットやオススメコースを記載したパンフレットなどいただけたら嬉しかったです。
とはいえ1日たくさん楽しめたので大満足です。

I think sandals are better because you can wear them while still wet! After snorkeling, I felt cold, so I think it would be good to have something you can throw on while wet (I used a large towel).
濡れたまま靴が履けるようにサンダルの方がいいと思います！シュノーケリングが終わったあと寒く感じたため、濡れたまま羽織れるもの（私は大きなタオルを使いました）があった方がいいと思います！

I had planned to go to the Blue Cave, but due to the wind, we went to a different beach. The owner of the restaurant we went to afterward also said, "That beach is beautiful." ☺️✨ It was my first time snorkeling, and it had been a while since I swam, but I was able to enjoy it with peace of mind. It seems that the morning group even saw manta rays! We participated as a family with a 6-year-old child and parents in their 60s. I was worried because the weather was bad and it was drizzling, but the guide's talk was interesting, and we enjoyed ourselves on the way to the location.
The site was exciting as we ventured into a dark, deep forest that ordinary people can't enter. Walking through caves and rocky areas was also fun. We were able to see about three coconut crabs, which was our main goal. We also found frogs and insects, and my sons, who love insects and reptiles, were thrilled. Although we couldn't see the starry sky due to the rain, there were so many trees that the light rain didn't bother us, and we were very satisfied with the tour.

During our 3-day, 2-night trip, we experienced snorkeling and SUP through Beltora! Miraculously, we were able to see a sea turtle while snorkeling, which was a very precious experience! This was my first time in Ishigaki Island, and I considered going to more remote islands on my own, but I became anxious about the possibility of not being able to secure a ferry reservation, especially given the recent over-tourism I’ve been experiencing in the area. So, I decided to join a tour.
As a result, I was able to efficiently visit three islands and get a glimpse of their charm. The guides were all unique and had their own styles, and they were very good at communicating, which made it a lot of fun.
I think I could have managed to visit each island on my own, but the tour included lunch and transportation with the guide, which felt like a great deal. I realized that starting with a guided tour to explore the highlights and then diving deeper into the places that interest me as a repeat visitor might be the best approach.
Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy with occasional light rain, so I was glad I opted for a bus tour instead of walking or biking around Taketomi Island. However, since we traveled by car to the sightseeing spots, the time spent on the island felt a bit short, and I wished I could have stayed longer. I didn’t have a chance to buy souvenirs except on Yubu Island.
The guide for the jungle cruise was positive, saying that even though it was raining, there were still good things about it, which I appreciated. When the guide expressed disappointment about the weather multiple times, I thought that the most disappointed people were the guests who traveled from afar, and I couldn’t help but think they should offer a discount (though not specifically for this tour).
初石垣島、自力でさらに離島に行くことも考えましたが船の予約が取れないこともあると見て、昨今のオーバーツーリズムを日々実感する地域から行くこともあって不安になりツアーに申し込むことに。
結果三島を効率よく巡って魅力の一端を感じることが出来ました。登場したガイドさんも三者三様で個性的で、皆さんお話がお上手でとても楽しかったです。
それぞれの島に行くだけなら自力でも行けたかなとは思いますが、昼食まで付いてガイドさんも送迎も付いてとてもお得感はあり、やはり最初は解説付きで巡って気になるところをリピーターとして深掘りするのが良いのかなと思いました。
あいにく曇り空に時々小雨といった天気だったので竹富島はフリー歩きや自転車にせずバスツアーにしておいて良かったなと思いますが、見どころ地点に車で行く分？時間が短いのでもう少し島内にいたかったなあとは思いました。由布島以外ではお土産を買うチャンスはありませんでした。
ジャングルクルーズのガイドさんは雨だけど逆に良いこともあると前向きに話して下さってありがたかったです。
ガイドさんに何度もお天気を残念がられると一番残念なのは遠方から来る客の方だしじゃあ値引きしてくれと思っちゃうので(こちらのツアーのことではないです)。

In the morning, I participated in a stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) session, and in the afternoon, I joined a snorkeling experience. The day before had been rainy, but we were blessed with good weather on the day itself, allowing us to fully enjoy the great nature of Ishigaki.
During the mangrove SUP tour, we entered the mangroves and encountered various plants and creatures. The guide provided a lot of information about Ishigaki's natural environment, which was very educational.

It was a fun three hours! During the drive, the guide shared a lot of interesting facts about Ishigaki Island, so I was never bored until the end. The tour itself can be affected by the weather and luck on the day, but this time we were fortunate to have clear skies and see a beautiful starry night.
楽しい3時間でした！車での移動時間もガイドさんが石垣島豆知識をたくさんお話してくれたので最後まで飽きることなくすごせました。ツアー自体は当日の天気と運に左右されますが、今回は運良く晴れて綺麗な星空をみることができました。
I think it would be good to have something woven if the wind blows and it feels chilly in winter.
冬場は風が吹くと肌寒く感じると思うので、何か織るものがあったら良いと思います
