Since I'm not good at driving, it was really helpful to have a bus take us around the main points of Ishigaki Island. However, there just wasn't enough time! I felt like I wanted to relax a bit more. But the guide was a wonderful person, and the stories and island song live performances were great. Also, the lunch was delicious. In the afternoon, we took our tickets and went to Taketomi Island on our own, where we rode a water buffalo cart and then did some sightseeing. The leisurely time was the best. It's quite a packed schedule, but I think it's a great recommendation for those traveling to Ishigaki Island for the first time, as you get to see a lot.

To make matters worse, when I went, one person was left behind!! They left while I was in the restroom! The guide apologized, but said, "You need to keep to the schedule." Isn’t that terrible?? I thought it was their mistake for not checking.

The lunch at Auntie Popo's was fairly good. However, it was disappointing that there was no explanation of the menu.

I thought we could explore Taketomi Island more thoroughly, but it wasn’t that great. The water buffalo sightseeing felt somewhat superficial? It seemed like they were just trying to make us laugh and sing. It might be fun if you go with family, but maybe the vibe was off??

It was great to cross the island on a water buffalo and to have my first experience sightseeing on Taketomi Island. However, I had admired it from pictures before going, and in reality, animals do have their own nature. They frequently urinate and defecate, so it can be a bit smelly.

I participated in the morning tour. The stories from the local guide, who is quite the character, were very informative. He also showcased traditional Yaeyama folk songs played on the sanshin. It was a lot of fun since I rarely get the chance to hear sanshin folk songs. The weather was somewhat cloudy, and being winter, the blue of the sea at Tamatorizaki wasn't at its best, but the guide showed us a very vivid picture of the blue Tamatorizaki on his smartphone, which was a lovely touch.

At Kabira Park, I enjoyed the glass-bottom boat, where I could see tropical fish playing around the coral reefs, fish coming close to the boat, and large giant clams and sea anemones. I also had a delicious lunch. Thank you very much.
