Japan Hidden Gems: Secret Islands

Hat an interesting tour! While I speak some Japanese the rest of my family does not. I did my best to translate what I could, but I know we missed out on a lot of the interesting facts about the water buffalo and the tr... moreadition and origin story of this interesting mode of transport. We wished we had also understood more about the mangroves.

The Mangrove Kayak Tour was a fun and enjoyable activity, set in a beautiful mangrove environment. The duration was just right—not too long or tiring. Unfortunately, the Blue Cave part was changed to a beach snorkeling s... morepot due to weather conditions, but that area turned out to have a rich marine ecosystem. We were lucky to see two sea turtles and beautiful fish —it was an amazing experience overall. Our tour guide, sorry I forgot her name. is incredibly warm, friendly, attentive, and full of energy.

The boat trip along the mangroves on Nakata river on Iriomote Jima was very nice. Outstanding was the excursion with the buffalo cart towards Yubu Jima.

Very well organised. It was a good way to see three islands in a day with the option of spending more or less time walking around Taketomi. The lunch was good too. Perhaps critical information such as the time to reassem... moreble could be shown with numbers so that it is clear to non-Japanese speakers.
