Okinawa Main Island
Asumi Spiritual involves quite a bit of walking on rocky mountains, so I think it's pretty tough. Plus, going around everything is a race against time. Even for someone like me who enjoys visiting historical sites and is used to mountain climbing, I found myself cutting it close to the meeting time while taking photos and videos.
It would be great if there were options for those who stay here and those who go to Yanbaru. For those staying, if they could be picked up on the way back from Yanbaru, I think even those without much stamina could manage.
If you can't find value in spending two hours round trip from Asumi to see a single Okinawa rail, it might be better to choose a tour that doesn't include this.
This was my first time participating in this tour. The tour guide was kind. Also, the staff at the Yanbaru Kuina facility provided clear and interesting explanations.

There are various trekking courses, so if you're going for a challenging course, it might be good to wear more sturdy clothing.

I'm glad I could participate in this tour that I gave up on last year. Since I can't drive and I'm traveling alone, I think it's a great opportunity for people like me to join. The Oishi Seirinsan course was easy to walk. I managed to walk two courses (it was great). I also thought it was nice that I could listen to the audio guide on the bus. The seafood lunch was really delicious. The tour guide was cheerful... We were blessed with good weather, and I was able to achieve the main purpose of this trip, making it a satisfying experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed the trekking at Daishi Forest Mountain. Since there were only six participants, we had plenty of time in our itinerary. The guide's talk was enjoyable, and the bus ride was fun as well.
The northern region is recommended as it can only be accessed by rental car.
Walking along the river while listening to Mr. Seko's guide, searching for fish, getting splashed by waterfalls, jumping in, and swimming—it's a river trekking experience that's fun even for adults. I will come back to play with my grandchildren next time.

In winter, you won't feel cold entering the river with a wetsuit and shoes.
Thank you for participating and for your review.
This winter was cold, but February, in particular, was especially chilly for the river trekking. However, we are very relieved to hear that you found it not too cold.
If you decide to join us again, I believe it won't be colder than this tour, so you should be able to enjoy it quite comfortably.
We would love for you to join us again, even with your grandchildren. Thank you!

You can enjoy sightseeing all the way to Cape Hedo, the northernmost point, in just one day. The seafood lunch was as delicious as others have commented. The melt-in-your-mouth squid sashimi was amazing to taste in this tropical setting! For those who are not fond of sashimi, the vegetable tempura was also said to be delicious. After lunch, we were served shikuwasa jelly and cake on the bus. Eating and drinking are allowed on the bus, so you can enjoy dessert while taking in the scenery from the window. Participants from China, South Korea, English-speaking countries, and French-speaking countries joined the tour. I was impressed by how the guide managed to bring together such a diverse group with just the right amount of distance. Thanks to this tour, I was able to have a great time without needing a rental car!
You can explore the national park using a smartphone guide. It might be a bit challenging for elderly people who are not very skilled with smartphones.
On tours organized by bus companies like Naha Bus, there are guides not only on the bus but also at the destination. However, on this tour, the explanation on the bus is mainly through audio guides, and there is no guide at the destination, with a tour conductor accompanying the group. Preferences vary from person to person, but this tour is recommended for those who prefer to spend quiet time on the bus and enjoy free time at the destination.
You can experience "Yanbaru," but it's better to accept that there won't be a guide and that free exploration will be the main focus. Don't expect much from the lunch; it's better to eat in Honshu.
The tour guide was very nice and assisted us in both Japanese and English. For lunch, we had a delicious fish dish. My companion, who doesn't eat fish, was accommodated with a tempura lunch instead. I am grateful to the tour guide and the restaurant staff. We also enjoyed the weather at Yanbaru National Park and Cape Hedo. It was a well-planned tour.
This is my fifth time in Okinawa, but I had never been to the northern part, so I joined this tour. As usual, most participants were foreigners, but this tour provided earphone guides and pamphlets tailored to each participant's language at the beginning. During the tour, when the guide signaled "Please turn on your earphone guide," the next sightseeing explanation was provided in each participant's language through the earphone guide.
There are tours where explanations are mainly in Chinese, leaving Japanese participants behind, so I thought this was fair and well thought out.
There were about 15 participants, but they arranged a large bus, allowing us to enjoy the sightseeing comfortably.
中国語での説明が主で日本人参加者は放置のツアーもあるので(^^;(^^;
I recommend sitting on the left side of the bus (to avoid the sunlight) (^^; (^^;
バスの席は左側オススメ(日差しを避けるため)(^^;(^^;
During the walk to the waterfall, I learned a lot about the terrain, the creatures, and how to play in the river. It was a tour that both children and adults enjoyed. We played Tarzan by holding onto tree vines, swam to the waterfall, went behind it, and caught small fish and shrimp.
Although it was winter this time, I wonder if the creatures we encounter would change with the seasons, so I definitely want to participate in this tour again! We also received many photos.
Thank you for participating and posting your review. I'm genuinely happy to see more reviews on Veltra.
If you enjoyed it even in winter, the other seasons are even more fun.
Insects and creatures will increase. Oh, but for those who dislike bugs... it won't be a problem.
For those who are not fond of insects, we will introduce them in a way that suits their preferences. Even those who are not comfortable with them can find themselves interested and observing closely.
Since we have one guide per group, everyone can enjoy themselves without worrying about others.
Please be sure to enjoy the beauty of the Taki Falls, which has different faces in each season. Thank you!

I've been to Okinawa three or four times, but this is my first time visiting after the New Year and all the way to the northern tip. I had only ever toured the beaches and Shuri Castle, but this time it was a very interesting and enjoyable trip as we were able to experience history and nature that we didn't know about. Since we didn't have a driver, we joined a one-day tour, which was a great deal and packed with highlights. The guide's explanations were professional and fun, and the fish for lunch was very delicious. I was very satisfied!
Okinawa in winter has many attractions, and with fewer people around, you can enjoy various experiences without needing to rent a car.
I was able to enjoy the highlights of Yanbaru National Park in one day and had a great time. There were no unintended stops at souvenir shops, and I was able to have a delicious lunch. The allocation of sightseeing time at the attractions was appropriate, and the guidance and instructions from the conductor were also suitable. However, the return trip was congested.
I have participated in this tour because I wanted to explore the northern part of Okinawa, as I had only visited the southern part before. Among various other tours, this one was quite expensive, but in terms of content... There were many foreign visitors as well...

I think it would be difficult for elderly people or those who find walking cumbersome.
I think it's a strong ally for solo travelers, as it allows you to visit tourist spots that are difficult to access alone, enjoy a delicious lunch, and adjust the schedule to see the Okinawa rail. In the end, you can just relax and arrive in Naha. Many people actually travel alone as well.

The experience was really good considering the hassle of renting a car alone.
However, the bus guide was terrible.
When she spoke, it felt like she was instructing her subordinates, and even though she was just confirming things, she came off as very condescending.
She was kind to the foreign tourists who were late to the meeting point, which was frustrating.
Also, we were told to meet at a certain spot, but even after four of us searched for ten minutes, we couldn't find it.
Some people gave up on the activity.
She was smiling at the foreigners and spoke politely.
I can read like anyone else, so...
I felt discriminated against as a Japanese person while in Japan. Others mentioned they were too scared to ask questions because they felt they would be scolded.
Shoes should definitely be athletic shoes.

The bus trip from Naha to the northernmost point was made easy thanks to the bus, even on unfamiliar roads. Although I regret the unfortunate wind and rain, I was glad to have visited Cape Hedo, hiked at Daichi Forest Park, and even met the Okinawa Rail, all with plenty of time to spare. The lunch was delicious too.

If rain is forecasted, a raincoat is more convenient than an umbrella; an umbrella is useless when buffeted by the wind.
The number and size of the stones at Oishi Forest Mountain exceeded my expectations. There were many trees, and the trails were well-maintained, allowing for a safe and enjoyable walk. The seafood dishes were delicious. I thought they would be dishes made with local fish from around Okinawa, but it turned out to be different. I wonder if, for the people of Okinawa, dishes made with non-local fish are more popular.
I have been to Okinawa many times, but I had never been to the Yanbaru area, so this tour was perfect. In particular, Daichi Forest was a place that was more interesting than I had imagined. There were quite a few slippery spots, so it's necessary to prepare shoes that are not slippery and easy to walk in.
Everything I saw was moving. The driver and the guide were also kind, making it a very good bus tour. Thank you very much.
I participated on October 31 (Thursday). It was 100 km from Naha (difficult to go individually), and the "Yanbaru Tour" was easy since we arrived at the sightseeing spots while sleeping. I heard that there are many traffic accidents involving the Okinawa rail in "Kuina no Mori," so it was a good decision to come on a bus tour. Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 21, my flight was canceled, and I was at a loss about what to do for the day, but my savior, Veltra, was great for accommodating my sudden schedule change (same-day reservation). Thank you!
We participated as a family of three in early October. We have visited Okinawa dozens of times, but we usually spent our time at the beach, so I was surprised to find that there was "river trekking" as well! Since it was a private tour for just our group, we were able to proceed at our own pace without feeling rushed, allowing us to fully enjoy the experience.
That day, the water level was high, and there were moments when it felt quite challenging to navigate through the river, but the excitement of the new experience outweighed any difficulties. Looking up at the sky, sunlight filtered through the trees, and when I looked down into the river, I could see fish and eels swimming. As we walked while feeling the earth beneath us, when "Taki Falls" came into view, I felt a light sense of accomplishment (this is from someone in their late 50s). I truly felt glad to have participated in this experience with its captivating scenery, which was so different from the ocean.
Being able to enjoy the natural waterfall and let myself be carried by the river's current was reassuring with the guide present. They took many photos and later made a video for us (for an additional fee), which allowed us to easily look back on the experience after returning home. It truly became a wonderful memory.
Thank you for participating and posting your review.
I believe that a sunny day in early October is quite the best condition to enjoy Taru Falls.
Spitz is relieved that you were able to enjoy a different side of Okinawa, away from the sea.
While everyone has many options to play in the ocean of Okinawa, it seems that the choices of enjoying the mountains, rivers, and waterfalls are often forgotten, and Taru Falls still has relatively few tourists.
This is an approximately 2.5-hour experience tour packed with enjoyment beyond the Okinawa sea. With one guide per group, you can relax and enjoy without worrying about other participants.
We hope you will come back to enjoy the mountains, rivers, and waterfalls of Okinawa again.
We are also delighted that you enjoyed the video service. Thank you very much!

The tour guide was very attentive. There was a participant who only understood English, but this tour guide had excellent English skills and explained the content almost exactly the same after providing the explanation in Japanese. For lunch, we had a sashimi set meal, and the freshness and portion size of the sashimi were great, plus it came with grilled fish, which I thought was something you wouldn't easily find outside. According to the tour guide, the restaurant initially declined due to a lack of staff, but they reached an agreement because the tour guide offered to help with serving. After we started hiking at Daishi Forest Park, a localized heavy downpour began, and access was temporarily suspended after we entered the mountain. I walked through the intense rain, and the water flowing down the mountain was incredible; to be honest, it was a bit scary. But on the flip side, I think it turned into a good experience. I recommend participating with sturdy shoes. I brought not only an umbrella but also a poncho, which helped keep my daypack dry.
I participated in a full-day tour of northern Okinawa, which I rarely have the opportunity to visit since I don't drive.
Although a typhoon was approaching, we were fortunate to have good weather during the tour, allowing us to enjoy sightseeing at Cape Hedo and the Daichi Forest. The untouched nature of Yanbaru National Park in the north was magnificent.
The protection facility for the Okinawa rail, "Kuta-kun," was friendly and even came close to the glass when I pointed my camera at him.
I had a sashimi set for lunch, and although I haven't had many opportunities to eat sashimi in Okinawa, it was delicious enough.
There were few Japanese participants; most were from other Asian countries, with a few from Europe and the U.S. However, the guide was fluent in both Japanese and English, so I had no trouble at all.
We were blessed with great weather and had a wonderful time sightseeing in the Yanbaru area. For lunch, we enjoyed a seafood set meal with sashimi, featuring fish caught that very day, which we could savor without any waiting time. At Cape Hedo, we could clearly see Yoron Island and Okinoerabu Island with our own eyes. At the Oishi Forest Park, we admired the unique rock formations created by erosion. Above all, I think the highlight of this tour was being able to see the long-awaited "Yanbaru Kuina" with my own eyes. I highly recommend this experience to everyone. Even though it was the end of October, the temperature exceeded 30 degrees, but we had so much fun that we forgot about the heat.
I participated in a tour this time because it's not easy to visit the northern attractions alone. It included the power spot at Daishi Forest, which I've wanted to visit for years, as well as the cute Okinawa Rail and Cape Hedo—it's the perfect itinerary for me.
First, we went to the national park, and there were plenty of souvenirs at the roadside station. The lemon cake was delicious. After that, we had lunch and headed to Cape Hedo, where the scenery was beautiful and we enjoyed some tasty seafood.
Daishi Forest was indeed wonderful. There are three different routes, but I couldn't see everything I wanted to, yet I managed to explore two of the courses. The experience was incredibly impressive.
I thought there would be many Okinawa Rails, but I only saw one. It was cute, though. Overall, it was a satisfying day.
We participated in early October with my wife and our one-and-a-half-year-old child. On the way there, we walked along the river towards the waterfall. The guide chose relatively shallow areas for us to walk, but there were still places with lots of stones and strong currents. There was one spot where we had to use a rope to climb up. So, basically, I carried the child while we progressed. I'm glad I prepared a baby carrier that could get wet. On the way there, the child was a bit scared of the water, so even in shallow areas, we could only proceed by carrying him.
When we arrived at Tar Falls, the guide took us behind the waterfall. I had prepared a hat with a brim for the child, so we were able to go almost all the way behind the waterfall without the water hitting his face directly. Since I wasn't wearing a hat, the water was splashing on my face so much that I could barely see in front of me, and I was walking almost by instinct. Having a hat is definitely a good idea. The wetsuit and boots provided for the child were a bit large since he is about 70 cm tall, but we put them on when going behind the waterfall, so I think he didn't feel the cold water too much. However, since it was bulky, I took off the wetsuit when carrying him. We were fortunate with the weather that day, but I think it's better to prepare some cold-resistant gear for the child in case of cloudy or rainy weather. Adults can wear wetsuits the whole time, so there's no concern for us.
The guide put small fish and shrimp in a small tank, making it easy for the child to see, which was nice.
It was great that the child had the opportunity to interact with nature by seeing fish at Tar Falls and drawing lines with something called mudstone, like crayons. The movement was smooth, allowing us to spend a leisurely time around Tar Falls.
On the way back, the child seemed to have gotten used to it and was able to walk by himself in shallow areas, which made for a different kind of enjoyment compared to the way there.
The guide took many photos and videos throughout the trip. Thanks to that, we have great memories captured, and we are very satisfied. Thank you very much.
Thank you for participating and for your review.
As you mentioned in your review, there are no specific age restrictions for the Spitz tour. If parents are willing to assist, children as young as 1 or 2 years old are welcome to join. Each family is paired with one guide, allowing us to accommodate the pace that suits your family. (Within the overall time frame of approximately 2.5 hours.)
We adjust the timing for putting on wetsuits and the activities based on the children's needs, experimenting to ensure a great experience for everyone. As a result, most participants have found the tour enjoyable.
Children can try various "first experiences," such as observing fish in the aquarium, drawing with mud stones, or floating in the waterfall pool. We encourage you to let them participate and explore.
Seeing your child gain confidence from the experiences at the waterfall and walk confidently along the riverbank on the way back can be quite reassuring, and many parents have expressed that they are glad they participated.
We document the entire experience with photos and videos, which we send for free to the email address you provide. (Please note that creating a photo movie incurs an additional fee.)
We hope you will join us again when your child is 2 or 3 years old; you will likely be amazed by their growth during that time.
Thank you once again, and we look forward to your next participation!

It was a lot of fun.
The journey to the waterfall was more challenging than I expected, but the kids had a great time. The most difficult part was swimming against the current in deep areas. There were moments when I felt like giving up, but the kids persevered and managed to keep going. Since it was just our group, it was nice to progress at our own pace.
We saw many rare creatures, and the guide provided thorough explanations.
At the waterfall, we were able to see a beautiful rainbow.
The force of the water was quite strong, and going behind the waterfall felt like a true waterfall experience.
We played by scooping up small fish and shrimp with a net and enjoyed the Tarzan rope; it was a truly valuable experience.
The kids were extremely excited, and it was an activity that adults could enjoy as well.
Thank you for participating and posting your review.
Yes, that area where you swim against the current to get to the deeper part...
That is the challenging spot, but it's so much fun to swim through it as a family.
It's not often in everyday life that you get to experience a scene like a video game where the whole family works together to overcome a challenge, right?
Here, you encounter very clear challenges.
You might see the father stepping up, the eldest son unexpectedly taking care of the younger sister, or the youngest child being concerned about mom and trying to help...
In this extraordinary reality, families can discover the resilience of their children that they might not have noticed before.
There are quite a few shop tours that don't require swimming across this area, but from our perspective, it would be such a waste not to clear this challenge as a family!!
The guide will support you with swimming techniques and how to proceed.
Let's overcome it together as a family.
This is the most enjoyable tour where the whole family can experience the sense of accomplishment when you reach the waterfall.
This kind of experience cannot be had at "Junguria" this summer; it's a real adventure in nature.
Please come again.
Our guides are working hard to provide just the right level of challenge that everyone can overcome together, so thank you very much.

It's not easy to reach this area by bus, but I was able to explore quite comfortably without stress. Since there were only a few participants, including the guide, it turned into a tour where we could all chat together, which was really nice.
This was my third trip to Okinawa. I had always wanted to visit Yanbaru National Park, and while researching online, I found a one-day bus tour through Veltra that included Yanbaru Park, Cape Hedo, and Daichi Forest. I immediately made a reservation. There were five participants on the day of the tour, but we enjoyed a spacious and comfortable sightseeing experience on a large bus. I was worried because it was typhoon season, but the weather was good, and I was satisfied with the beautiful scenery of the Yanbaru region and the enjoyable trip. The hiking at Daichi Forest was easy to walk, making it accessible even for older individuals. I was very satisfied with this trip, as it allowed me to visit places that are not easily accessible on my own.
■Overall Review
It was amazing! I had a safe and enjoyable experience, and the guide was wonderful☆ I encountered various creatures along the way! I would love to use this service again when I visit Okinawa!
■Optional Video
I was moved when I received the beautifully edited video later! The unique perspective of the 360-degree camera was also interesting. I highly recommend it♪
■Safety
On the day of the tour, there were many locals and the river was murky, but the guide provided accurate advice to ensure safety, such as "There’s a big rock here that you can’t see" and "If you want to jump near the waterfall, jump in this direction from here." I felt safe and secure while having fun!
■Creatures
I mentioned that I like reptiles, and the guide checked for creatures while we were trekking, and I got to see three green tree lizards! At the end, after leaving the river, I also encountered an Okinawa rat snake and a Ryukyu brown snake♪ The guide was knowledgeable about creatures and taught me about various insects, which was fun!
■For Small Children and Elderly
My 5-year-old enjoyed it safely. The force of the water at the waterfall seemed a bit scary. My grandmother, in her late 60s, also had no problems enjoying herself! She was able to go behind the waterfall♪
■For Non-Swimmers
My grandmother couldn’t swim, but she was well supported, and with the life jacket, she was fine.
■Attire on the Day
During the river trekking, it’s fine to go hands-free except for a water bottle. It was summer, but wearing long sleeves on top and bottom was just right. You will get completely wet. I think a hat with a chin strap would be good.
Thank you for participating and for your review. You are the family of the grandmother who can't swim, right? I remember you well.
That day was the last Sunday of summer vacation, and there were many people, so the water was quite murky in the afternoon tour. I was worried about the grandmother possibly falling. In the end, we were able to take you behind the waterfall, and seeing your happy smiles made me very happy as well.
The dragonfly photo you attached is of a male Ryukyu Black Dragonfly. After we left the river, we found separate male and female individuals of the Blue Green Snake. The green individual is the female, and the one with a brown base and green lines is the male.
We also encountered a butterfly dragonfly during the trekking, but I couldn't take a photo. I apologize for that.
I want to continue to enhance the evaluation of this rare tour that can be enjoyed by three generations. Please consider joining us next time for a morning tour in the clear water of summer. The chances of encountering a rainbow over the waterfall will also increase. But an early wake-up is essential.
Thank you again, and I look forward to seeing you.
