Okinawa Main Island
Okinawa is the memorable destination of our honeymoon 36 years ago, and this time we were able to participate in a course that included the Kouri Island Bridge, Churaumi Aquarium, and Mihama American Village, which I had long wanted to visit. The bus picked up about 40 passengers from various locations in Naha City, creating a lively tour with five different languages being spoken. The guide provided assistance through headphones in eight languages, which was quite high-tech.
After about an hour and a half, we crossed the Kouri Bridge, and the stunning view of the bridge and the blue ocean from the beach was just as magnificent as I had expected. Next, we headed to the Churaumi Aquarium, which my wife was very much looking forward to. Due to the performance schedule, we were first captivated by the adorable dolphin show at the "Okinchan Theater," and later, we were overwhelmed by the grandeur of the large tank where the giant whale sharks swim gracefully. The three-hour stay allowed us to explore at a leisurely pace, which was even better.
Finally, at Mihama American Village, we enjoyed an American-style experience, making effective use of our time there for about two and a half hours, indulging in meals, shopping, and even enjoying the landmark Ferris wheel. I had heard that some participants from overseas might be a bit loose with time, but this time everything went smoothly, making for an even better tour.
沖縄は３６年前の記念すべき新婚旅行の地、今回はかねてより行きたいと思っていた古宇利島大橋や美ら海水族館、美浜アメリカンビレッジと三点そろったコースに参加することができました。バスは那覇市内のピックアップ場所を巡り約４０名が乗車、なんと５か国の言葉が飛び交うにぎやかなツアーに。ガイドは８か国語対応のイヤフォンを通しての対応、なんともハイテクになったものです。さて、バスは一時間半ほどで古宇利大橋を渡り渡島、浜辺から見る大橋と青い海の見事な景観はやはり予想通りの素晴らしいものでした。次は妻が大変期待していた美ら海水族館へ、まずは上演時間の都合で「おきちゃん劇場」でイルカたちのかわいい演技に魅了され、その後水族館内部では巨大ジンベイザメが優雅に泳ぐ大水槽の迫力に圧倒されました。滞在時間も三時間とゆっくり見学できたのがさらに良かった。最後は美浜アメリカンビレッジでアメリカンテーストに染まりながら、ここも約二時間半の時間を有効に使って食事やショッピング、ランドマークの観覧車まで楽しむことができました。海外から参加される方には時間にルーズな方もおられると聞いていましたが、今回はそういったこともなくスムーズなスケジュールの進行でさらにいいツアーとなりました。

ただ御菓子御殿の売り込みの店員にはギブアップうるさすぎる！試食をする前に売り込みは勘弁です。タイトルにあるとおりガイドさんの三線をひきながらの沖縄の歌は素晴らしかったです！それにガイドに笑いありでポイントをしっかり説明して頂き沖縄を知ることが出来ました。手話を交えた『なだそうそう』良かったです。ゆううつだった旅もガイドさんに救われました。今度は天気のいい日にまた参加しますね。

We took the bus from Kencho-mae in Naha with our luggages to the Churaumi Aquarium and got dropped off at Rizzan Seapark Tancha Bay. This took care of our transportation between Naha to Onna. １．昼食会場のJALプライベートリゾートオクマ前のビーチがとても綺麗でした。早めに昼食を終えて、ビーチ散策をお勧めします。
２．全体的にゆったりとした行程なのであまり疲れず、沖縄を満喫できました。

Driving from Naha to Cape Hedo, the northernmost point of Okinawa Island, or to the Daichi Forest Park can be very tiring, even if you rent a car. The Yanbaru area, designated as "Yanbaru National Park" in September, aims to be registered as a World Natural Heritage site. As you headed towards Cape Hedo while enjoying the beautiful sea on your left, I hope you felt a lot of energy at the power spot, Daichi Forest Park. After being rejuvenated at the popular Churaumi Aquarium, everyone must have been sound asleep on the way back from the tour.
Did the trekking at Daichi Forest Park leave you wanting a bit more? We had three hours to spend at the aquarium but will be good if the hours can be extended. However we managed to enjoy the dolphin show at 230pm (but then quickly ran to chase the bus afterwards. Bus departs at 3pm). The recommended time to watch the dolphin show is at 130pm.

The itinerary was well-rounded, and I felt a bit guilty that the aquarium tickets were included in the tour price. He kindly answered all our questions. My friends who joined me were also satisfied. The coach was a bit late because of traffic, so that wasn't the fault of the tour, but other than that the trip was great. The butterfly house is in fantastic grounds and the butterflies are really used to humans. It would have been nice to have a bit longer there to get the feel of the place a bit more more, but it was a good start. The aquarium is superb! The dolphin show and manatees were extra bonuses. The location was amazing and the gorgeous little beach in the grounds of the aquarium was lovely. The pineapple park was a very brief stop. As with the butterfly house, a longer stay would have been good. The glass blowing place was essentially a shop, but if you just go there thinking about getting a reasonably priced souvenir and seeing something a bit different, it was enjoyable as well. The tour guide had very limited English but tried hard and provided us with gps based English speaking audio guides which helped us to learn a bit more about what we saw. The price was brilliant for what we did and would recommend the trip to anyone staying in Onna so that they can see a bit more of the north of the island

The Churaumi Aquarium and the dolphin show "Okinchan Theater" were cool and provided us with a very enjoyable time, especially since we both love marine life.
Since we were also traveling from our hotel in Onna Village to Naha, I think it was quite reasonable. The only downside is that we arrived in Naha a bit late, but I suppose that's just how it is. It's also great for those who are not comfortable driving a rental car on unfamiliar roads or for those who want to enjoy a drink while sightseeing.
