Osaka
There are many attractions around Osaka Castle that can be used for free, so by combining a boat cruise and entrance fees (for about two places), you can almost break even. Additionally, since you can use the subway, buses, and private railways within Osaka, depending on the location of your hotel, it might be worth purchasing this pass just for sightseeing at Osaka Castle.
The available attractions are somewhat spread out, but they are concentrated in the area, so I think it's better to target specific places to visit.
By the way, I injured my foot while trying to climb the Osaka Castle main tower, so I gave up on going up the tower.
Get it if you are staying at Kyoto or Osaka and wish to travel to Nara.
It drops you off right outside Nara park.
It is much more centrally located than JR.
Good value too!
We made good use of the tourist buses
Best value for getting around in Kansai region. Good price, nice routes, the bus passes is really what sets this apart though.
Got to use the bus in Nara but didn’t use train at all since no coverage west Kyoto
Awesome pass. Got us from Nagoya to Ise on trains. Then all around Toba area, buses and trains, then also to Nara by train. Really good value pass if you're doing a compact 5 day trip to the Mei area.
After I have ordered this pass online and I made 1 amendment online immediately. However, when I approached the ticket counter for collection, the System cannot recognise my order. Staff spent half an hour to issue a pass for me.
Kintetsu Rail Pass is a good choice if you travel bigger distances within the Kyoto/Nara/Osaka region. For example from Kyoto to Asuka.
I only have one complain. I thought I would get nice looking ticket as advertised (2-day pass in my case) but in reality when I picked up the ticket at Kyoto station, I only received a regular blue/turquoise ticket like all the other JR tickets.
It covers a lot of sightseeing point. Station staffs are helpful with English communication is not a problem. Easy to access, not a complicated network. Base on this ticket, you can pay more for a faster train, so it is flexible on you budget vs. time.
One word... PERFECT!!!
In the Netherlands ordered on internet
Activated in Japan and travelled five days by train
this review is for my trip from Nankai station in Namba to KIX airport. It was easy. Office to exchange voucher is right next to gate in the nankai mall near luxury shopping. Not crowded. easy to move around luggage. The coin lockers are not advanced tech and not numerous. Namba station is also near many shopping outside like Bic Camera and 2 blocks from Dotonbori.
The train ride was smooth and not crowded with nice reserved lounger seats.
Your voucher is exchanged at office where they schedule you a reservation on the luxury and fast train to the heart of Osaka. otherwise you will have to figure out your ride yourself and get lost. it saves time, easy to use, staff speaks English, and is comfortable. KIX is 40 minutes south of downtown and would be longer without Rapit
We went on 10/27/19 to their Halloween Horror Nights event. Not the same as Universal Orlando but we loved it. The atmosphere was electric especially at night. Unlike Universal Orlando your allowed to dress up in costume which made it very unique. Love Japan and will be back soon.
2 days travelling with this pass..every thing was perfectly arranged ..no need for nothing extra to ask..thank you!
Even without speaking any Japanese the passes where easy to pick up. Handed them the QR code and they gave us our passes.
Great Park, way too many people and the lines are ridiculous long, so be prepared!!! I have been to the park in Orlando FL and the lines for the rides are not as long as the ones in Japan... we managed to to ride approx 6 rides and 2 shows in 1 entire day.. Note some of these rides when available we went as single riders in order to avoid a long wait and get the most of our time.. Overall beautiful park and very clean.
The shows I do not recommend that you waste your time in line if you do not speak Japanese (no English speaking shows)...
This pass was not good value for us. We didn’t realise how little of Kyoto it covered (subways are run by a different company) and it not being able to use it in limited express trains, was inconvenient. Would have been cheaper to just use our Icoca cards and pay for each leg.
Your offering of the train ride to KIX Airport from Osaka City was much appreciated as an economical alternative to a limousine service! It was hassle-free, very accessible, comfortable & speedy. You should offer this in ALL major cities with train rides to an airport, I certainly would avail of this every single time.
Never expected that this show would be an entertaining one. The performers were good and they did well. Even if you do not understand Japanese you will still know what is going on. Really enjoyed the show. Highly recommended.
Awesome rides & great 4D experience. The best one is Harry Potter forbidden Journey. A must go place..
A must go place if you are roller coaster & 4D fan. Totally Adrenaline full experience..
This show is definitely a must see when you visit Osaka. The interpretation of the story was exceptional. The all-female cast truly captivated us with the brilliant beauty of Japan's history, culture and heritage.
It was also a very fun experience to have been selected from the audience to participate in the "fan dance".
Aside from their excellent interpretation, there was also an English subtitle on the background so that foreign audiences can easily follow the story along.
It was great, had English subtitles in the background to help follow along. A variety of characters. Had the chance to go onstage and be horrible at dancing with a fan.
It is value for money to trip in your rail loop. So comfortable and on time. Nice train and condition.
This pass is great for travel to kyoto and nara from nagoya.
We were a bit disappointed that it did not include reserved seats on express trains and we had to add money for that.
A very convenient and cheap option if want to see places of interest in kyoto, nara, osaka and the surrounding areas. Though it is a free seating, one can travel in comfort and most importantly, choose your own timing..
The Kintetsu staff were very helpful and even assisted to get a ramp for us at every station as we had a wheelchair.
There aren't enough spots in Osaka for enjoying the night (especially for foreigners), so I was interested in this event that was gaining attention and decided to participate. The venue was a room that could accommodate about 100 people, and if you moved closer to the front, you could feel the stage was quite near. During the session I attended, the audience was about 70% full, but I was surprised to see that there were very few foreigners (less than 20% of the total), and it was impressive that there were many Japanese fans instead.
When I participated, the program included dances using fans, audience participation dances, traditional Japanese dance by beautiful women in kimonos, sword fights between samurai and a lady (spider woman), and the kabuki's "ke-buri" (hair waving), followed by a commemorative photo session. It was a packed schedule lasting about an hour, but since they mostly danced to upbeat music without speaking any lines, while photography was allowed, there was hardly any time to take pictures due to the richness of the content.
However, on the flip side, there were no explanations of the highlights, and since they were just dancing without any dialogue, even though they were doing amazing things like the footwork of kabuki dance, the movements of "mie" (striking a pose), and the scenes of "ke-buri," I felt that the greatness of it wasn't properly conveyed, which was a bit disappointing (this was my first time seeing such a performance, so I realize my impressions may be off). Therefore, I think if you pay attention to the hand movements and footwork rather than just watching passively, you can enjoy it even more.
Perfect journey Nagoya - Uenoshi - Osaka + super Ninja Museum!
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly! We also really enjoyed spending the day in Yoshino! It was only 90 minutes on the train from Osaka, definitely worth a day trip!
I was drawn to the term "participatory show style." Each performance in the show was creatively crafted. My 74-year-old mother also took the stage and praised it as an interesting experience! There was laughter, emotional moments during serious scenes, and we even danced together; the energy in the studio was incredible! The performers gave their all to entertain and host us. I wished the show could have been a bit longer, but the performers' intense movements took a toll on our stamina... I want to see the upgraded stage again!
