The guides for the tour we requested were amazing both days! On the first day, the guide for Jomon Sugi made everyone feel at ease and encouraged us until the end. Meeting Jomon Sugi was moving, but I was just as touched by the guide!

On the second day, the guide at Shiratani Unsuikyo was also wonderful and loved nature. The beauty of the moss and Yakusugi became unforgettable memories, but I was also moved by the guide's passionate feelings! I appreciated the information about other famous spots on the island as well.

Thanks to this experience, Yakushima, which I thought would be a once-in-a-lifetime visit, has become a place I want to return to! Thank you!

今回お願いしたツアーのガイドさんが、2日とも最高でした！
1日目の縄文杉のガイドさんは、ツアーのみんなをなごましてくれ、最後まで励ましてくれました。縄文杉に会えたのも感動でしたが、それと同じくらいガイドさんにも感動しました！
2日目の白谷雲水峡も、自然愛する素敵なガイドさんで、苔の素晴らしさや屋久杉の素晴らしさはもちろん思い出になりましたが、ガイドさんの熱い思いにも感動しました！島のその他の名所もいろいろ教えてくれてありがたかったです。
おかげで、一生に一度と思っていた屋久島ですが、また来たいと思う島に変わりました！ありがとうございました！

The visibility was high, and we were able to see a variety of colorful fish. My daughter, who was snorkeling for the first time, was excited and said, "It feels like swimming inside an aquarium."

I believe my daughter enjoyed it thanks to Mr. Harazaki's fun lecture before we entered the water. It seems her anxiety about breathing through the snorkel disappeared.

This time, we were also able to see a sea turtle. We observed it from a distance to avoid startling it, and it came closer to us, which was moving.

He also took many photos of that moment. Actually, I have a diving license, but my son said, "Next time we come, I want to go diving." Thank you again.

透明度が高く、色とりどりの魚をみることができました。はじめてシュノーケリングをする娘も、「水族館の中で泳いでいるみたい」と興奮していました。

娘が楽しめたのも、海に入る前に、原崎さんが楽しくレクチャーしてくださったおかげと思っています。シュノーケルで呼吸する不安がなくなったようです。

今回、ウミガメを見ることもできました。驚かさないように離れて観察していたら、近づいてきてくれて、感動しました。

その様子もたくさん写真に収めてくださっていました。実は私はダイビングのライセンスを持っているのですが、息子が「次に来た時は、ダイビングをしたい」と言っています。

It was my first time kayaking and snorkeling, and despite the heat, kayaking in the endless ocean was absolutely wonderful. Sea turtles occasionally showed themselves, curiously observing us. We desperately searched for shellfish that everyone in the tour could eat, and during lunchtime, we enjoyed a lot of them, creating unforgettable delicious memories. It was a tour that makes you want to go back again soon.

シーカヤックもシュノーケリングも初めてで
暑い中でしたが果てしない海原の中で、カヤックは最高に素晴らしかったです。
海亀もこちらの様子を伺って時折、姿を見せてくれてました。
ツアー参加のみんなで食べれる貝を必死に探して、ランチタイムでは、沢山食べて格別な美味しさも思い出になりました。
また、すぐに行きたくなるようなツアーでした。

It was a long journey, but many parts of the path were well-maintained and easy to walk on. The guide was entertaining, and it was enjoyable to hear stories beyond just Jomon Sugi.

長い道のりでしたが、道も整備されているところも多く、歩きやすかったです。ガイドさんが話も面白く、縄文杉以外の話も聞けて楽しかったです。

I participated in the half-day course, and even though it was just half a day, I was able to fully enjoy it. The river water was extremely soft and easy to drink. The pickup and drop-off service to the hotel was really helpful.

半日コースに参加して、半日ではありますが満喫する事ができました。川の水が超軟水で飲みやすかったです。ホテルまでのお迎えから送迎まで本当に助かりました。

I went on a 4-night, 5-day trip to Yakushima. The main event, the Jomon Sugi trekking, took place on the third day. I was anxious, but with the best guide, we completed it in 10 hours! I was able to fully enjoy the sunrise, blue skies, mountains, sea, rivers, and the great outdoors. I prepared for rain, but we were blessed with good weather.

It's a trekking experience akin to training, but the sense of achievement is incredible. Even as a near-beginner in climbing, I was able to challenge myself with confidence thanks to the wonderful guide.

4泊5日の屋久島旅行。メインイベントの縄文杉トレッキングは中日の3日目に行きました。不安でしたが最高のガイドさんと10時間でコンプリート！！朝日、青空、山、海、川、大自然を存分に満喫できました。雨は降る覚悟で行きましたがお天気に恵まれました。
修行のようなトレッキングですが、その分達成感がすごいです。
登山ほぼ初心者のわたしも素晴らしいガイドさんのおかげで安心して挑むことができました。

I used the service for two days from August 2 to 3, 2024. On the first day, we aimed for Jomon Sugi, and the next day we planned to visit Shiratani Unsuikyo.

On the first day, our bus was scheduled to pick us up in front of the hotel at 4:30 AM, so I woke up at 3:30 AM to get ready. We received the breakfast and lunch bento we had requested in advance from the hotel and left at 4:27 AM. Shortly after, I received a call on my mobile from the guide on the bus asking, "Where are you now?" When I replied, "I'm here," a person with a headlamp appeared in front of me and said somewhat impatiently, "Please get on quickly." We boarded the bus right at 4:30 AM. Once on board, that person asked, "Were you not told to wait outside 10 to 15 minutes early?" I was frustrated because I was there at the time specified, and I couldn't understand why I was being scolded. I managed to hold back my anger for a while.

Therefore, I recommend that anyone who doesn't want to experience what I did should arrive early and wait for the bus.

Upon arrival at the site, we used the restroom and started trekking at 6:00 AM. There are no restrooms from the trolley road to Jomon Sugi, so I highly recommend using the last restroom on the trolley road. The initial part of the trek on the trolley road is about 8.5 km long and is all a gentle uphill. I felt that the distance was already quite enough just on the trolley road, but when I heard there were only 2.5 km left, I felt a bit relieved and approached the second stage with a naive mindset. As soon as the trolley road ended, it turned into a real mountain trail, requiring us to walk over rocks. We could take breaks along the way, but my legs were at their maximum fatigue, and at the end of the last ascent, Jomon Sugi stood tall. Honestly, Jomon Sugi appeared smaller than I expected, surrounded by surrounding plants, and I felt that the Yakusugi I encountered during the climb seemed larger. While I could imagine that Jomon Sugi has a diameter of 5.3 meters, it was disappointing that I couldn't truly experience it.

Moreover, the descent was more exhausting than I imagined, and by the time we reached the trolley road, I felt like I was about to break down. Even if I had given up, I still had to descend the remaining 8.5 km of the trolley road. All the members who accompanied me fell silent but desperately made it to the trailhead. The round trip took 11 hours and 40 minutes, and according to my pedometer, I walked 42,000 steps. It was the first time in my life I walked so much, and the fatigue was at its maximum in my legs, leaving me anxious about the next day's Shiratani Unsuikyo as I went to bed.

The next day, the guide came to pick us up at the hotel at 8:00 AM, and with a relaxed start, the round trip was expected to take about 4 hours, which gave me some relief, but I still participated with the fatigue from the previous day. However, the guide moved at a very slow pace and took breaks at appropriate intervals, making the ascent not too difficult, and we were able to reach Taiko Rock. I realized that this was due to the guide's pacing and the well-maintained stairs in the national park, making it much easier to climb compared to the Jomon Sugi route. There were plenty of highlights along the way, such as "Mossy Forest" and "Hanging Cedar," making for an enjoyable trek, but the descent still had a significant impact on my legs.

From my experience participating in this tour, I think those who lack confidence in their legs should refrain from joining. If you plan to trek both, I recommend including a rest day in between.

2024.8.2-3日の2日間で利用させて頂きました。
初日は縄文杉を目指し、翌日は白谷雲水峡の予定です。
まず初日ですが、私達のホテル前にバスが4時30分に迎えに来るという事なので、3時30分に起き身支度を整え、事前に頼んでいた朝食と昼食のお弁当をホテルで受け取りホテルを出たのが4時27分でした。直後にバスに乗っていたガイドさん？から携帯に電話があり、「今どこですか？」と言われ、「ここです」と言うとヘッドライトを付けた人が目の前にいて、「早く乗って下さい」とちょっとキレ気味で言われ、バスに乗車したのは4時30分ピッタリ。乗車すると、その人から「10分から15分前には外に出て待っていてと言われなかったのか？」と詰められました。しかし、4時30分と言われ4時30分に乗っているのに何故文句を言われなければいけないのか暫く怒りが静まりませんでしたが何とか我慢しました。

従って、私の様な思いをしたくない方は早めに出てバスを待つ事をお勧めします。

現地に到着しトイレを済ませ6：00にトレッキングの出発でした。トロッコ道から縄文杉まではトイレが有りませんので、必ずトロッコ道の最後のトイレに行く事をお勧めします。（途中、携帯トイレを使用出来るか所は有ります）トレッキング始めのトロッコ道は約8.5ｋｍ有り全て緩いですが上り坂です。私はトロッコ道だけでも十分すぎる距離である事を感じていましたが、残り2.5ｋｍと聞き少し楽な気分で第2段階に臨んだのは浅はかな考えでした。トロッコ道が終わった途端にまさに登山道になり、岩を渡り歩く本格的なものでした。途中、休憩を挟んで頂けますが脚の疲労はMAXで最後の上りを終えた先に「縄文杉」が聳え立っていました。正直、縄文杉は周りの草木に囲われており、写真などで見るよりもこじんまりした様に見えました。何なら登山途中に出会える屋久杉の方が大きく感じる始末です。縄文杉の直径が5.3ｍ有るという事が説明都下では想像が付きますが、実際に味わう事が出来ないのは残念でした。
また、下山は想像を超える脚への疲労が有り、トロッコ道に到着する辺りではかなり心が折れそうになっていましたが、棄権しても残り8.5ｋｍのトロッコ道を下って行かなければならず、同行したメンバー全員無口になりながらも必死に登山口までたどり着きました。往復の所要時間は11時間40分で万歩計によると42.000歩でした。こんなに歩いたのは生まれて初めてという事もあり、疲労は体よりも脚がＭＡＸで翌日に控えた白谷雲水峡に不安を抱えながら就寝しました。
翌日は朝8時にガイドの方がホテルまで迎えに来て頂き、ゆっくりしたスタートで内容も往復4時間程度という事で、少し安心はできましたが、やはり昨日の疲れが取れていない状況での参加となりました。
しかし、ガイドの方はとてもゆっくり進んでくれ、休憩も適度に挟んで頂いた為、上りはそこまで厳しくない状況で太鼓岩まで行く事が出来ました。これは、ガイドさんの進行と、国立公園という事もあり階段などの整備がきちんとできている為、かなり上りやすいからだと気付きました。縄文杉のルートとは別物です。途中に「苔むす森」や「くぐり杉」など見どころも満載で、楽しいトレッキングとなりましたが、下山はやはり脚への影響は大きかったです。
私自身がこのツアーに参加して感じた事ですが、脚に自信のない方の参加はやめた方が良いと思います。両方をトレッキングするならば中1日休息日を入れる事をお勧めします。

As a beginner, the local guide did a great job managing the pace. It was a long journey, but the guide shared various stories along the way, so I was never bored and really enjoyed it.

I would like to use this service again.

However!
I was fortunate enough to encounter a sea turtle leisurely munching on seaweed at a comfortable distance from the shore. Although I’m not a strong swimmer, I managed to keep up with the snorkeling, and it was reassuring to know that I could just hold onto the board when I got tired.
I was also grateful for all the underwater photos taken with the camera.
The guide led us in a fun way, and I had a truly valuable and wonderful experience. Thank you very much!

しかし！
岸から程よい距離に海藻をむしゃむしゃ食べてまったりしているウミガメに遭遇することが叶いました。
泳ぎが不得意な私でしたが、シュノーケルではなんとかついていくことができて、疲れたらボードにつかまっていれば良いのがホッとするところでした。
写真も水中カメラでたくさん撮ってくださりありがたかったです。
楽しくリードしてくださり、とても貴重で素敵な経験をすることができました。

At 60 years old, I was a bit anxious about going to Jomon Sugi, but thanks to the guide's careful pacing and advice, I had an amazing experience. If you're going to Jomon Sugi for the first time, I think it's best to go on a tour.

60歳になり縄文杉に行くのは、少し不安でしたがガイドさんのペース配分などの細やかなアドバイスがあり、最高な体験をさせていただきました。
初めて縄文杉に行かれるならツアーで行くのが良いと思います。

My 70+ year old mother usually walks every day, but she was worried about hiking. However, the guide was considerate and we were able to enjoy it without overexerting ourselves! The guide shared various types of moss and tips for hiking without straining the body, which made for a wonderful experience. It was also very convenient to rent hiking gear and trekking poles. I highly recommend this for anyone planning to visit Yakushima!

70＋歳の母は普段毎日ウォーキングするものの、ハイキングはどうかと心配していましたが、ガイドの方も配慮してくださり、無理せずに楽しめました！ガイドの方が色々な苔の種類や体を痛めないハイキングのコツなど、色々な知識を途中教えてくださり、とってもいい体験になりました。ハイキンググッズやストックもレンタルできてとても便利でした。屋久島に行かれる方にぜひお勧めします！

I was a bit anxious about snorkeling after a long time, but the detailed responses to my inquiries via email and the thorough briefing before we started made me feel at ease. Once we began, I was captivated by the beauty of the underwater world. The schools of mackerel, the groups of squid, and the family of clownfish around the white sea anemones were all sparkling in the sunlight in the clear water, and it was truly moving.

And then, we encountered a sea turtle! I had heard that the encounter rate was 50%, so I am grateful for the luck of meeting one. I also want to thank our instructor, who, while keeping an eye on us, spotted the turtle in the distance and guided us towards it. Thank you so much!

久々のシュノーケリングで少し不安がありましたが、事前のメール照会への詳細な回答、また開始前の丁寧なレクチャーに、安心して開始できました。開始後は海の中の美しさに魅入るばかり。キビナゴの群れ、イカの群れ、白いイソギンチャクの周りのクマノミの家族、全てが透明度の高い海の中で日差しを浴びキラキラしていて感動しました。
そしてウミガメとの遭遇！遭遇率5割と聞いていたのに、出会えた幸運に感謝ですし、背後の私達に気を配りながらも遠くのウミガメを見つけ、私達を誘導してくださったインストラクターにも感謝しかありません。本当にありがとうございました！

Thanks to the typhoon that passed two days ago, the mountains were sparkling with water gushing from various places, and the weather was blessed with clear skies.

▪️ Day 1 ▪️
For the trek to Jomon Sugi, I wore a UV-protective long-sleeve quick-dry shirt to prevent sunburn, but the guide informed us about the risk of heatstroke and mentioned that we would be walking mostly in the shade, so I switched to a short-sleeve shirt and wore cool leggings and running shorts. I also took off my hat. This way, I managed to avoid heatstroke.
The guide communicated with other guides via radio, checking the positions of each group and adjusting the timing, which made me feel reassured.
Since I qualified for the free shuttle service, I stayed at a hotel in Miyano-ura. However, it seemed to be the farthest location, and I boarded the bus the earliest, with nearly an hour's difference from the last person who got on. It looked like staying near the Arakawa trailhead would have made both the outbound and return trips easier.

▪️ Day 2 ▪️
The Shiratani Unsuikyo had a completely different, enchanting scenery compared to the previous day. It was enjoyable to see the types of moss and the atmosphere gradually changing.
Although the walking distance was shorter than the Jomon Sugi course, it was still a solid hike.
I had enough time to observe slowly, and I became engrossed not only in the moss and cedar but also in the birds and insects.
There weren't many people doing trekking on two consecutive days, so it was quite surprising.
The guides on the first and second days were different, but both took photos at the scenic spots with their iPhones and shared the data with us at the end. Additionally, they provided warm miso soup for lunch, which was comforting.

２日前の台風一過のお陰で、しっかり水分を含んだ山はあちこちから水が湧き出てキラキラしていて、天気はずっと晴天に恵まれてました。
▪️1日目▪️
縄文杉へのトレッキングは、日焼け対策にUV対応の長袖速乾シャツを着て行きましたが、ガイドさんから熱中症の危険があるということと、ずっと木陰を歩くので日焼けの心配はほぼないと言うことで、半袖シャツに、下はトレンカとランニングパンツの涼しい格好で登りました。帽子もぬぎました。それでなんとか熱中症は免れた感じです。
ガイドさんは他のガイドさんと無線で連絡を取りながら、それぞれのグループの位置を確認しながら時間調整をしてくれていたので、安心できました。
無料送迎の対象となっていたので宮之浦のホテルに泊まりました。ただ、ここは1番遠かったようで、パスに乗り込んだのは1番早く、最後に乗った人と1時間近く差がありました。荒川登山口近くに泊まった方が行きも帰りも楽そうでした。
▪️２日目▪️
白谷雲水狭は前日とはまた違った幻想的な景色がずっと続いていました。苔の種類も雰囲気も徐々に変わっていくのを見るのも楽しかったです。
歩く距離は縄文杉コースよりは短いとはいえ、しっかり登山でした。
それでもゆっくり観察する余裕はあり、苔と杉だけではなく、鳥や虫にも夢中になれました。
あまり２日連続トレッキングをする人はいなかったので、結構驚かれました。
1日目と２日目は別のガイドさんでしたが、どちらも写真スポットではガイドさんのiPhoneで写真を撮ってくれて、最後にデータの共有をしてくれました。また、ランチには暖かいお味噌汁を入れてくれて、ホッとできました。

It's several times longer than I imagined. If you're trekking, it's probably one of the longest in Japan?!

The tour guide was an older man who loves Yakushima and moved there (he really loves the mountains), and his explanations were interesting throughout.

They likely group participants based on their fitness levels and age, allowing you to hike at a pace that suits your level.

During the extra time, you can dip your feet in the river, and some people even swim, so it's good to be prepared for that.

ツアーのガイドさんは屋久島が好きで移住したおじさん(山大好き)で説明が随所にあって面白かったです

多分運動経験や年齢で、グループ分けをしており、自分のレベルにあったスピードで山登りをできます

余った時間では川に足をつけたり、人によっては泳いだりするので準備しておくと吉

This was our family's first experience, and although none of us are good swimmers, the instructor explained everything very carefully, checking to ensure each of us understood. We were able to safely enter the sea and enjoyed meeting sea turtles, Nemo, Dory, and many other colorful fish. The next day, we received a lot of underwater photos, creating the best memories of the ocean! Thank you very much.

家族4人共初の経験で、泳ぎも得意でない中参加しましたが、とても丁寧に一人ずつ理解してるか確認しながら説明してくれ、無事海に入ることができ、うみがめ、ニモ、ドリー他色とりどりの魚に会えて海を堪能できました。翌日には、沢山の海中の写真を送って頂き、最高の海の想い出を残す事が出来ました！ありがとうございました。

Initially, we planned to go trekking on our own, but considering the transportation from the accommodation to the trailhead and preparing lunch, we thought it would be more convenient to join a tour, so we signed up.

To put it simply, participating in the tour was a fantastic decision! Not only did we have a great guide, but we also met wonderful people in our group. It was a tiring day, but it turned out to be the best day ever.

With many aspects, such as pacing during breaks and hiking etiquette, that we might not have managed on our own, having a guide allowed us to relax and enjoy the experience mentally as well.

最初は自分たちのみでトレッキングをする予定でしたが、
宿から登山口への移動や、昼のお弁当の用意などのことを考え、自分たちのみで行くよりもツアーの方が都合がいいなぁと思って申し込みました。

結論から言うと、ツアーに参加して大大大正解でした！
ガイドさんはもちろん、同じグループだった方との素敵な出会いもあり、とっても疲れたけど最高の1日になりました。

休憩のペース配分や、登山中のマナーなど、自分たちだけでは配慮しきれない部分がたくさんある中で、ガイドさんがいれば安心して過ごせるので、精神的にも楽でした。

最高の体験をありがとうございました！

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see any sea turtles. I anticipated that it might depend on luck.

▼ Disappointing Points
① The Korean participant who joined us didn't listen to the guide's instructions at all and was not a good swimmer, which disrupted the pace throughout the activity.

- During the equipment briefing, it was mentioned, "Please fix your hair later," but they kept fiddling with their hair, leading to the same explanation being repeated multiple times.

- Even after being told to "swim while looking ahead" before entering the water and again after entering, they swam while looking down and got separated from the group. (The interpreter was present, so it wasn't a language issue.)

② The guide's photos weren't very good.

- I was told, "I'll take many photos with an underwater camera, so you don't need your smartphones," so I relied on that, but the photos I received weren't great, and I thought we should have taken our own.

- There was a briefing on how to take nice photos when encountering sea turtles, but there was no guidance on taking photos with fish as the background. As a result, I often couldn't tell if I was photographing the fish or if I was in the photo with the fish, which made me unsure whether to pose.

それは運もあるので想定はしていました。

①一緒に参加となった韓国人の方がガイドさんの話を全然聞かず、泳ぎも下手だったため終始ペースが乱れる形になりました。

・装備品着用レクチャーでは「髪の毛を直すのはあとにしてください」と言っているのに、髪の毛をいじっていたため何度も同じ説明が繰り返されることに。

・「前を見て泳いで」と海に入る前、入った後に説明しても下を見て泳ぎ、はぐれてしまう。
(通訳の方はつけていたので言語の問題ではないです)

②そんなにガイドさんの写真がきれいじゃなかった/うまくなかった

・「水中カメラで何枚も写真を撮るからスマホはなくても大丈夫」と話されていたのでお任せしたのですが、いただいたものはあまりいい写真がなかったので、これなら自分たちで撮ればよかった苦笑

・ウミガメ遭遇時のきれいな写真の撮られ方のレクチャーはあったが、魚を背景にした写真のレクチャーがなかったため、今魚を撮っているのか、魚と一緒に人を撮っているのかわからないときが多くポーズすべきかどうか迷った

It was my first time swimming in the ocean, but thanks to the thorough briefing I received at the beginning, I was able to enjoy it safely without feeling rushed. Although I couldn't see any sea turtles up close this time, the ocean was very beautiful, and I was very satisfied to swim alongside many fish!

私は海で泳ぐこと自体が初めてでしたが、最初にしっかりとレクチャーしていただいたおかげで焦ることなく安全に楽しむことができました。今回ウミガメを間近で見ることはできませんでしたが、海がとても綺麗で、たくさんのお魚と一緒に泳げてとても満足でした！！

I had always wanted to visit Yakushima and Jomon Sugi. Since I don't have much climbing experience and was traveling alone, I chose a guided local optional tour. When I travel alone overseas, I always make reservations through Veltra, and I've always been satisfied with their tours, so I signed up without hesitation this time as well. I was worried about the early morning departure and the round trip climbing journey of about 11 hours, but thanks to the guide's appropriate advice and their detailed answers to my various questions, I was able to overcome the long and challenging path. Additionally, I think I was able to achieve this without giving up because I received encouragement and support from the two couples in my group. I want to express my gratitude for the wonderful encounter with ancient nature and for meeting the guide and the members of my group.

前々から一度は行ってみたかった屋久島、縄文杉。登山経験があまり無く、一人旅の私はガイド付きの現地オプショナルツアーを選択しました。海外一人旅の時は、いつもベルトラさんから予約し利用させてもらい、常に満足のいくツアーだったので今回も迷わず申し込みました。朝の出発が早く、往復で約11時間の登山行程が不安でしたが、ガイドさんの適切なアドバイスと私のいろんな質問に丁寧に詳しく答えてくださることで、長く険しい道のりも乗り越えられました。また、一緒のグループになった2つのカップルの方達とも励まし助け合えたお陰で諦めることなく達成できたと思います。
素晴らしい太古の自然との出会い、ガイドさん始め、グループの方との出会いに感謝したいと思います。

Seeing the sea turtle come up to the surface was so exciting! The ocean was incredibly beautiful, and it became a wonderful memory. The guide was also entertaining and fantastic.

ウミガメが海面まで上がってくれて、大興奮でした！
海もすごく綺麗で素敵な思い出になりました。ガイドさんも面白くて最高でした。

We participated in a trekking tour to Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo with my mother and daughter. I had researched beforehand that the round trip to Jomon Sugi takes about 10 hours, so I was very worried about whether we would be able to complete it. In reality, on the way back, my legs were so sore that I felt like I couldn't walk anymore... and there were still three hours to go... I almost felt defeated at times, but our guide was very entertaining and not only shared knowledge about Yakusugi but also engaged us with various quizzes during the trek. Thanks to that, even though my body was exhausted, I was able to enjoy a fun hike filled with laughter without feeling defeated. I truly appreciate the guide's thoughtfulness, as I’m sure he was tired too but never showed it and kept the atmosphere lively. The sense of accomplishment when we returned to the bus was truly unforgettable.

On the second day, I wondered if I would be able to walk, but compared to the previous day, we had less time and were able to enjoy the scenery, so it was fine. And above all, the breathtaking view from Taiko Rock was amazing! Honestly, it was even more moving than Jomon Sugi (laughs).

For those trekking in Yakushima for the first time, I definitely recommend having a guide! The experience is completely different.

Since returning from the trip, I already miss Yakushima. We have traveled to various places, but this is the first time all three of us have felt such a strong desire to return! We have completely become Yakushima addicts (shortened to "yakuchuu"). We plan to go back to Yakushima next year and try climbing other mountains as well.

母娘3人で縄文杉＋白谷雲水挟のトレッキングツアーに参加しました。
縄文杉は往復10時間と事前情報で調べていたこともあり、途中リタイアしないかとても心配していました。実際、帰り道足がパンパンでもう歩けない…まだ3時間もある…と挫けそうになることもありましたが、担当ガイドさんがとても面白い方で、トレッキング中は屋久杉の知識だけでなく色んなクイズをしてくれました。そのお陰で、身体はキツかったですが気持的には挫けることなく笑いありの楽しいハイキングとなりました。ガイドさんも色々と疲れていたと思いますがそんな顔一つせず盛り上げてくれた心遣いに感謝しかありません。帰りのバスに戻った時の達成感は本当に忘れられないです。
2日目は歩けるかな？と思いましたが、前日に比べると時間も少なく景色も楽しめる余裕もあったので大丈夫でした。また、何といっても太鼓岩からの絶景が素晴らしかったです！正直、縄文杉より感動でした（笑）
初めて屋久島のトレッキングをする方は、間違いなくガイドはつけた方がいいですよ！充実度が全然違います。
旅から戻り、既に屋久島が恋しいです。色々なところを旅してきましたが、こんなにまた行きたい！と思うのは初めてなくらい家族3人共、すっかり屋久島中毒（略してやくちゅう）になってしまいました。
また来年屋久島に行き、他の山も登ってみる予定です。

I had a vague desire to try the Jomon Sugi trekking, and it turned out to be an experience beyond my imagination. Even though I don't have much confidence in my physical strength, I was able to return safely, but there were many unstable areas and places where I had to climb rocks, which was quite tough. However, when I finally descended, the sense of accomplishment was immense, and I felt as if I had completed a form of training.

For those who are not used to hiking and are new to Jomon Sugi trekking, I strongly believe that participating in a tour is essential. The 10-hour trekking schedule was adjusted by the guide, taking into account the participants' physical abilities, which is why I think we were able to descend in time for the bus. I am grateful for all the considerations made.

Additionally, I went on both the Jomon Sugi trekking and the Shiratani Unsuikyo trekking this time, and I requested the same tour company. In the end, I think it was a great decision. For someone who couldn't make a car rental reservation and had limited mobility and time, being able to spend the day smoothly and without trouble was thanks to the tour company. I am very thankful.

漠然と一度行ってみたいと思っていた縄文杉トレッキングです。想像以上に素晴らしい経験でした。
体力に自信があるわけがない私も無事帰還できましたが、かなり足元不安定な場所や、岩を登るような場所が多くあり、かなり辛い。しかし、無事下山できた時は、達成感が大きく、一つの修行を終えたような気分でした。

登山に慣れていない、縄文杉トレッキングが初めての方は、ツアーに参加すべきと強く思いました。１０時間トレッキングの時間配分は、ガイドさんが参加者の体力を考慮して調整してくださっており、故にバスの時間までに下山できたと思います。さまざまなご配慮に感謝しております。

なお、今回は縄文杉トレッキングと白谷雲水峡トレッキングへ行ったのですが、同じツアー会社さんでお願いしました。結果、大正解だったと思います。レンタカーの予約ができずに行動範囲・時間が限られていた者にとって、さまざまな面でスムーズに、トラブルなく過ごすことができたのは、ツアー会社さんのおかげです。感謝しております。

I experienced snorkeling.
I had always struggled with snorkeling, but the instructions were clear, and I was able to swim calmly. Miraculously, I was lucky enough to encounter a sea turtle. I was also moved by the opportunity to see marine life up close.

To those planning to participate:
If you join, having a rental car is convenient. There are buses available, but the timing didn't quite match with the experience schedule. Also, please be careful as there is nothing around the area.

シュノーケリングを体験しました。
今までシュノーケリングは苦手でしたが、説明が上手で落ち着いて泳ぐことができました。
奇跡的にウミガメにも出会う事ができラッキー。それ以外にも海の中の生き物を身近に見ることができ感動しました。

参加予定の皆さまへ。
参加の場合、レンタカーがあると便利です。交通手段はバスがあるのですが、体験の時間とタイミングがなかなか合いませんでした。また周囲には何もありませんので、お気をつけ下さい。

This is feedback regarding the guide.
My friend and I participated in a long-awaited Yakushima tour.
It was a group of six, and our bus was delayed due to various troubles, so we were rushed by the guide from the start.
We were told that if we didn't drink water, we would be made to retire, and when we fell behind, we were told we didn't have to rush and were moved to the back.
We were made to walk quickly to Jomon Sugi, and thanks to that, we safely arrived at Jomon Sugi, but while other guides were providing various explanations, ours did not do so.
On the way back, we wanted to arrive by 5 PM, so we couldn't take photos freely, and when my feet started to hurt and I fell behind, we were scolded for breaking the line. I felt blue.
I understand the guide's goal was to safely deliver us back, so I was grateful that we made it back safely, even if I had to concede a lot.
However, I thanked the guide twice at the end, but I was ignored. If you are a guide, regardless of how things went along the way, I think it's important to say a word of thanks at the end.
If guiding is your profession, I would like you to treat all participants equally; I don't think I can recommend this to friends who are considering joining.
A final word of appreciation for the participants would be nice. I envied those who said they had fun.

友人と2人で念願の屋久島ツアーに参加しました。
6人のツアーで、私たちのバスがいろいろなトラブルで遅れ、最初からガイドに急がされました。
水を飲まないとリタイアさせると言われたり、後ろにつくとそんなに急がなくてもいいと後ろに回されたり。何せ早く縄文杉までとひたすら歩かされ、お陰さまで無事縄文杉に到着しましたが、他のガイドは色々な説明をしてくれていましたが、そういうこともなかった。帰りも17時には着きたいと自由に写真を撮ることもできず、足が少し痛くなってきて遅れると、勝手に列を崩すなと怒られ、気持ちはブルー。
私たちを無事に送り届けるというガイドの目的もわかるので、私たちも100歩譲って無事に帰ってこれたことには感謝しました。
ただ、最後にありがとうございましたとガイドに2度も声掛けしましたが無視されました。ガイドであれば、途中がどうであれ、最後にはお疲れ様でしたの一言は声かけた方がいいのではないでしょうか？
ガイドを職業とするなら、参加者には平等に接してほしいものです、行きたいと考えてる友人にも勧めることができそうにないです。
最後に一言は参加者に労ってほしいですね。
楽しかったと言ってる人たちが羨ましかったです。

On my first trekking experience, despite having no prior mountain climbing experience, I was able to reach Jomon Sugi, which was a fulfilling achievement. While listening to our guide's stories, I was able to enjoy the journey with everyone in the group. I felt that this sensation, which can only be experienced by those who climb, is truly precious. On the way down, I was able to dip my feet in the river along the riverbank, reminiscent of summer vacations from my childhood, which made me very satisfied. There are others around me who want to visit Yakushima, so I definitely want to recommend it.

初めてのトレッキングで、山登り経験も無かったですが、縄文杉まで行けて達成感溢れる体験になりました。ガイドさんのお話を聞きながら、一緒のグループになった皆さんと和気あいあいと進む事ができました。登った人しか体験できないこの感覚は、貴重だなと思いました。下りは川べりで足を川に付けたりと、子供の頃の夏休みのような事もでき、大満足です。周りでも屋久島に行きたいと言っている方がいるので、是非お勧めしたいです。

My first trip to Yakushima was truly memorable. I believe the highlight was the trekking at Shiratani Unsuikyo, which the guide made an incredibly valuable experience. While it might be said that trekking in Shiratani Unsuikyo can be done individually, for someone like me who doesn't regularly engage in exercise (especially after the fatigue from the Jomon Sugi trek the day before), I was able to fully enjoy it thanks to the various lectures on how to walk on mountain paths, the history of Yakushima, and explanations of the unique plants and moss.

As the climbers I met during my travels said, "You will be called back to Yakushima" and "This is the entrance to Yakushima," I experienced the charm that makes you want to visit again and again with all my senses. I am grateful for this wonderful experience.

私にとって初めての屋久島旅行。そのハイライトと考えていた白谷雲水峡トレッキングを、ガイドさんには最高に価値のある経験にしていただいたと思っています。一般的には白谷雲水峡は個人でトレッキングできないことはないとされているのかもしれませんが、登山もとより日頃から習慣的な運動をしていない者としては（前日の縄文杉トレッキングからの疲労が取れきれていない中）、山道の歩き方から、屋久島の歴史、珍しい草木苔の説明まで、色々とレクチャーいただいたおかげで、最大限に楽しむことができました。

「また屋久島に呼ばれる」「これが屋久島への入り口」と旅先でお会いした登山家さんたちもおっしゃっていた通り、何度も訪れたくなる魅力を五感で経験できました。すばらしい経験に感謝しています。

The guidance was very clear, and I was able to enjoy safe and comfortable snorkeling. Meeting a sea turtle and being in the same space for a long time will be a lifelong memory. I also got to see clownfish and various other fish. Everyone who participated had a great time. Thank you!

It was my first time snorkeling, but I received proper instruction and had a lot of fun seeing many fish and sea turtles!

初めてのシュノーケリングでしたが、きちんと教えていただいて、たくさんの魚とウミガメに会えてとても楽しかったです！

It's best to prepare thoroughly for the day since you'll have to consider your return time. Along the way, the guide shares a lot of stories and information, which is very informative. However, most of the journey is in the rain, which can be exhausting. I think you'll need proper gear and stamina. Expect muscle soreness the next day, so it's important to plan for your schedule accordingly.

朝早く、帰りの時間もあるのでしっかり準備して当日を迎えるのが良いです。
途中でガイドさんからたくさんの話や情報があるので知識となります。
しかし、ほとんどの道中が雨で体力も奪われます。しっかりとした装備と体力が必要かと思います。翌日は筋肉痛が必須なので翌日の予定も考慮する必要があります。
